Why do I save in #Bitcoin? Let me explain.
To estimate the future purchasing power of $3000 in 10 years given the current U.S. inflation rate, we need to use the formula:
Future Value=Present Value×(1−Inflation Rate)𝑛Future Value=Present Value×(1−Inflation Rate)n
Where:
Present Value = $3000
n = 10 years
Inflation Rate is the average annual inflation rate
The U.S. inflation rate is approximately 3%. Applying this rate:
Future Value=3000×(1−0.03)10Future Value=3000×(1−0.03)10
Given a constant inflation rate of 3% per year, the purchasing power of $3000 today would be worth approximately $2212 in 10 years. This is a loss of -26.27%. I am losing 1 out of every 4 hours worked to earn the amount I am trying to save.
I save for the hope of a better tomorrow. I save for unforeseen situations. I save for retirement. Saving in a currency that is constantly debased is counter-intuitive to my use case for savings.
This is only one of many reasons WHY I chose #Bitcoin. ( Thank You @River 😉)

@Leishman I wanted to share with you the miracle of the latest product @River. My father for the past 8 years has never really understood #Bitcoin. He is 75 and not tech friendly so he was never willing to invest in Bitcoin no matter how hard I tried. After sharing with him that he could have exposure to it via the BTC interest yield of a cash balance that is not time locked & FDIC insured, he immediately signed up, linked his checking account and ACH transfered 10K in about 5 minutes ( with me helping guide him through it).
