Founder and CEO, Turing. Accelerating superintelligence to drive real economic progress @turingcom.

Stanford, CA
Can confirm.
An OpenAI executive expects the “entire economy” to become an “Reinforcement Learning Machine.” This implies that AI might train on recordings of how professionals in all fields handle day-to-day work on their devices. Details on this new era of AI training: • AI developers are training models on carefully curated examples of answers to difficult questions. • Data labeling firms are hiring experienced professionals in niche fields to complete real-world tasks using specific applications that the AI can watch. Mind boggling. More than 75% say they would give up a portion of their salary for the opportunity to work fully remotely. And about 30% say they’d give up 30% of their salary. @rrhoover & @andreasklinger inspired me to create this poll. 👍 The future of work is Remote. #Turing
How much of your salary would you give up to be able to work fully remotely? Live wherever you like (in the world) that brings you joy. No high rents or housing costs. No commutes. More time with loved ones. Less wasted time in meetings. More control over your *time*.

There is a fundamental shift in the data needs to power ASI. Simple data is over. It's now the era of complex, real world & diverse data generated by research accelerators. Turing is proud to help America lead the race to ASI by partnering with all the top frontier Al labs. 🇺🇸
Watching → the quiet transformation of the data pipeline Something underdiscussed is the fundamental shift in how AI is labelled & trained for the next era of intelligence.. As we move toward Superintelligence or 'ASI', AI models don’t just need more data.. they need high-quality, expert-generated data, not bulk-labeled outputs from gig workers. If V1 AI had its greatest impact on lower-skill knowledge work (transcriptions, note-taking, basic marketing), next-gen AI, 'Superintelligence,' will be defined by its ability to operate in fields requiring extreme abstraction, multi-disciplinary synthesis, & high-stakes reasoning. Think: theoretical physics, advanced mathematics, AI safety, neuroscience, cryptography, aerospace, climate science, synthetic biology, & geopolitical strategy Industries that have real impact on frontier technology.. leading to true 'Superintelligence' Superintelligence, n. “An intellect that is much smarter than the best human brains in practically every field, including scientific creativity, general wisdom, and social skills.” - Nick Bostrom . . . "The thing that I think will be the most impactful on that 5 to 10 year time frame is AI will actually discover new science. And this is a crazy claim to make but I think it is true. And if it is correct then over time I think that will dwarf everything else." @sama on Jack Altman's Uncapped FWIW I don't think it's crazy to think ASI will make new discoveries, but I do think one major test of ASI will be its ability to invent new science & technologies. And that'll need industry experts. . . . The Financial Times just spotlighted this shift, covering top players like Scale AI, Turing, & Toloka moving away from gig-based labeling & toward highly specialized, expert-driven data pipelines “Deep-pocketed AI companies are now willing to pay for more sophisticated datasets & experts from around the world.” “As leading AI groups such as OpenAI, Anthropic, & Google attempt to develop models that they claim will exceed human intelligence, there is a new push to focus on the quality of these datasets & hiring experts to examine complex problems.” This is where Turing seems to be leading the pack. As @turingcom CEO @jonsid puts it, the goal isn’t just to replicate human expertise, it’s to transcend it, leading to 10x productivity: “The result of this is the model’s not just going to be better than a physicist. It’s going to be better than a superposition of somebody who’s at the top in physics, computer science, & data science,” said Turing’s Siddharth.

I used to think the highest-leverage way humans could contribute to AGI was generating 'imitation learning data' (value created for the world / time spent).      I was wrong.      The real leverage is now building RL environments + guiding agent trajectories.      ..ultimately shaping how systems learn from experience in real-world contexts.      While both imitation & RL depend on expert humans, with RL the improvement in AGI per unit of human intelligence used, is far, far greater.

“The only acceptable speed when building software is faster”
The real story behind the $OPEN activist turnaround. Board Chair, Keith Rabois tells all. July 16th, Opendoor Co-Founders Keith Rabois (@rabois) & Eric Wu (@ericwu01) stepped in. The stock had risen from ~$0.50/share → ~$1.30/share with the help of Eric Jackson (@ericjackson) & the $OPEN Army They realized it would have been easier (& cheaper) to buy out the company outright if they had acted earlier, but moved forward despite the higher valuation. The $OPEN Army ultimately created a cult-like movement of retail investors who believed in the company’s potential. They decided to leverage that momentum to recruit talent, working with top executive recruiter Paul Daversa. They gave Paul specific criteria for a stellar CEO hire (five non-negotiable qualities). The search led to Kaz Nejatian (@nejatian), who officially started as CEO on Monday, September 15th. What happens next could define one of the most remarkable activist turnarounds in tech.. "Faster. The only acceptable speed when building software is faster." - Kaz

Prediction: The most common job on Earth in a few years will be evaluating and training LLMs and agents. Billions of humans will do this part-time on platforms like Turing. It’ll include everyone. From the world’s smartest humans to everyday knowledge workers across every field. We have 4M+ on Turing already and growing. Alongside scaling compute and research breakthroughs, this is how we get to Superintelligence. @turingcom

I think remote work can be tough for a company that makes hardware/physical products like Tesla. For pure software cos, the train has left the station. We now live in a remote-first world.

At our core, Turing is not a Remote Work company. Turing is not a Distributed Teams company. Turing is a *Boundary-less Engineering* company. Imagine a world, where you don’t have to limit your hiring radius to 20 miles of where your office is located. That’s @turingcom. 🌍

Google works on hard problems for a very long time and moves the frontier. Especially if they involve AI. Waymo is a great example. I think embodied AI and robotics will be another. Congrats @googledeepmind @GoogleResearch and @GoogleAI! It also doesn’t hurt that you get to work with @JeffDean :)
Building on more than 10 years of robotics research and engineering at @GoogleDeepMind, @GoogleResearch and @GoogleAI, we're delighted to announce our Gemini Robotics On-Device system. A really capable vision-language-action model that can run entirely without network access. ⬇️
