Today we open early access to @Zapier's next product We've been using it internally for months (>1,000,000 actions executed so far) and it's completely changed how we work. We're letting a small group of AI-forward teams try it first and give feedback. Who we’re looking for: - 10-100 person teams using AI daily, but need to do so more collaboratively - teams ready to build and ship automations through agents, not just chat - teams that already work in the open (call recordings, shared docs, public channels, etc) - teams obsessed with optimizing every aspect of their work Join the waitlist: zapier.com/shared-brain

This is what we see at Zapier. While some use cases replace human tasks. Far more are doing things humans couldn't or wouldn't do because of cost, tediousness, or time constraints. I'm bullish on innovation in a whole host of areas that would have been considered "niche" in the past.
The biggest mistake when thinking about AI Agents is to narrowly see them as replacing work that already gets done. The vast majority of AI Agents will be used to automate tasks that humans never got around to doing before because it was too expensive or time consuming.

Founder mode has always felt a bit like learning to play jazz to me. When you first start you're lucky to have a good idea or two, but mostly it's random and doesn't sound that good. Then you start learning the rules and practicing your scales. Stuff starts to sound decent but you lack originality. You're boring. Then you figure out how to break the rules, but do it in a way that is interesting, novel, and catches attention. This is where legends are born. This is founder mode at its best.

Most teams are sitting on piles of low-hanging automation fruit. If you’re trying to justify the ROI, you’re probably overthinking it. I talked about this on Applied, the @tenex_labs podcast with Alex Lieberman (@businessbarista) and @ArmanHezarkhani. We built an agent that takes new @Typeform leads, researches them online, and drops them into a @Zapier Table. Small build, big ripple for any team learning to work with AI. Here’s how to find your own automation silver bullet: 1. Pick one process close to revenue or your biggest cost 2. Break it into 3 to 5 steps 3. Automate the boring parts with a workflow 4. Insert an agent only where judgment is needed 5. Keep a human in the loop. Remove as confidence grows You can run this exercise in 15 mins. You don’t need to code, but you DO need to think like an engineer. What win will you ship this week?

The real story in AI right now isn’t just agents. It’s agents + deterministic workflows. That combo is what’s actually driving results today. Free-roaming agents sound cool. But the highest ROI is coming from structured workflows that use models for judgment, not autonomy 🧵👇

NEW: Zapier Agents now work like a team. Roles, handoffs, and closing the loop. What's new: Agent-to-agent calling: Your AI agents now pass work like a relay team, each handling the step they’re best at (no human handoffs needed) Copilot: Describe your workflow in plain language, and Copilot maps the workflow and builds your full agent team, start to finish. Live knowledge sources: Your agents now pull live data straight from Box, Dropbox & Google Drive, always staying up-to-date. Template sharing: Turn your best agents into @Zapier community templates. Share wins, showcase use cases, and turn your best builds into content. These specialized agents now collaborate to run full workflows (sales, support, marketing, and more), not just isolated tasks.

Remote work is an easy scapegoat. 1/Miscommunication in a remote company: "Remote won't work. Let's move into an office." This response is common. 2/Miscommunication in an office: "Working in offices won't work. Let's go remote." This response never happens b/c it's absurd.

Two big Zapier updates to announce today for small business and enterprise alike! 1. All customers on Zapier's Starter plan are now upgraded to Pro for no cost. On Pro customers get access to Paths, custom polling intervals, automatic Zap replays, and more. You can start on Pro for as low at $19/mo. These price improvements are on the heels of additional improvements that came in January. In combination with those changes, customers now have unlimited Zaps on all plans, can pay-per-task when they use all of their tasks in their subscription, and most by-zapier apps like filters, formatters, paths, and more no longer count as tasks. 2. Zapier Enterprise is available today! Zapier Enterprise is designed to help organizations safely scale automation across teams. Zapier Enterprise lets you: * Restrict apps, triggers, and actions based on user roles, * Get analytics on how various Zaps are being used, * Request approvals for changes to Zaps, * Setup custom alerts for errors to your Zaps, * Enhanced security controls With Zapier Enterprise you can scale from MVP to Mission Critical all on Zapier.

Tell me about a time when you used a multi-step prompt to solve a problem or learn something. 4. If I give you a new problem, please talk through how you would use AI to solve that problem. 5. Please show me on social media where you shared how you used AI to do something. 6. Please tell me your understanding of how an LLM works. 7. Please tell me a time when AI didn't work for you. 8. Why aren't you wearing an AI pin or pendant or glasses right now to help you with this interview? 9. What differences have you noticed between Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and xAI's Grok? 10. Please sit down with @FactoryAI and build something, even a simple app, I want to see your thinking process. 11. If we were building a robot, how would you build a system to make it smarter? 12. What do you think Sam Altman and Jony Ive are building? If you were them, what would you be building? Hey Grok, got any others?

TIL: Quentin Tarantino, after a long day of shooting, will ask folks to do one more take and always shouts before the take: "Why do we do it?" and the whole crew will respond "Because we love making movies!" I love this. As tech has gotten so much more popular folks are often doing it for other reasons like money, fame, or something else. Which is all good and well. But for many of us the answer to "Why do we do it?" has always been "Because we love making software!" /ht @bryanhelmig

Providing integration, workflows, and automation shouldn’t be a headache for our partners. So we’ve created embeddable automation, already used by Google, Meta, and LinkedIn, to make it way easier. The result? Powered by Zapier: a seamless way to embed nearly 8,000 apps directly into your product. - It’s built to help software companies enable their users to connect tools effortlessly, whether for traditional workflows or newer AI Agent use cases - Partners can now cover Zapier costs for mission-critical use cases, eliminating friction for users (this one’s long-awaited and will help drive adoption, retention, and product stickiness) If you’re a product leader looking to improve automation for your users, let’s chat.

Many leaders I talk to assume that building an AI agent is hard. (if you aren't at least a little technically inclined) In fact most people think: 1. Workflows are easiest 2. Code-based tools are harder (@cursor_ai / @AnthropicAI's Claude Code) 3. Agents are the hardest But that’s backwards. With AI Agents, you don’t have to stitch together every step manually or map out a perfect process upfront. Just describe the goal in natural language and let the Agent figure the rest out autonomously. And if you're already building Zaps with AI, you're a lot closer to building agents than you think. @clairevo is the perfect example 👇
