In 2015, when I first started building Etherscan as a solo founder, I would at times get "stuck" (no AI helpers back then!). One particular tricky area was the "internal txns". I remember reaching out to Peter late at night on Gitter —he was very helpful and kind.. he replied, explained, even drew diagrams. In 2016, while trying to figure out how to keep Etherscan sustainable (after getting rejected for a foundation grant 😅), I applied to @BoostVC. They needed a reference—Peter kindly agreed to be one. Peter didn’t just help with Ethereum—he helped the people building around it. Sincerely wishing you the very best in your next chapter @peter_szilagyi. 🙏

One of the 'vanity' metrics we track internally is our Alexa site ranking and after working on @etherscan diligently for last 6 years non stop, we finally made it to the top 1k. Thank you to the whole Team and to you the community & users for making this happen 🙏

The last time we @etherscan site traffic peak to the current level was during the 2017-2018 ICO mania. Kudos 👍 to @UniswapProtocol for the successful launch of the UNI token etherscan.io/token/0x1f9840a…

Started out with @etherscan as my personal account in 2015, which then merged into our corporate "official" account. And only now got around to setting this up as my "personal account. Hello mtbitcoin :-)

The “$2M/year” flat fee pricing claim is false. Pricing depends on actual infra & support needs. Ads only run on community explorers (e.g. etherscan.io) to offset ops costs, never on partner explorers unless explicitly agreed. Partners get full dedicated explorers plus priority support, continuous updates, SLAs, APIs & much more — not just a “tiny box.”
I hear etherscan charges $2,000,000 a year to support a chain. And when they discover there's more work to do, they probably charge more. Because PulseChain is a fully stateful fork of Ethereum, it has 10 years of transactions to index and display. Vastly, vastly more than new empty chains. And for the $2M or more a year, your users will be advertised other chains, and be shown ads. And Ethereum users will never see your chain, because you'll be shown alongside 35 other chains in a tiny little box no one clicks. Maybe with the extra work they'd do it for $4,000,000 a year lolololol. Why don't you give em a ring and ask. But then you gotta ask yourself, why aren't they paying you to advertise trash to your people? I think no ads is pretty cool and protects people from scams. Here's the tiny ass little box no one clicks.

It was a pleasure collaborating with the team at @solscanofficial. They are not only humble and dedicated in their mission but also some of the kindest and professional folks I've worked alongside. Special thanks to @longvuong22 @hothule @anhntv2012 and my team at @etherscan 🙏
📢 We're excited to share that Solscan has now joined Etherscan! With the addition of @solscanofficial to the team, we hope to continue executing on our vision of providing credibly neutral and equitable access to blockchain data.

A Decade Onchain: Our Shared Journey Ten years ago we started with a simple idea: To make Onchain data open, accessible and human-readable for everyone. In those early days, it often felt like we were just charting an unknown space: medium.com/@etherscan/space-… Back then, our role was simply to map each block so others could navigate their way safely and transparently. Over time, that map grew into core infrastructure. We came to realize that running a block explorer is more than indexing block data—it’s about maintaining a trust layer made up of countless precise components, relied on by users, researchers, and builders alike. It’s a responsibility we’re grateful for, and one we continue to take seriously. Along the way, we introduced Explorer as a Service (EaaS) and began building explorers across L1s, L2s, and other networks. Together with project teams, we adapted explorers to local needs, improved them through countless forks, and worked to turn raw data into clarity that users could rely on. As those networks grew, we grew alongside them—release by release, step by step. Today, Etherscan explorers serve hundreds of millions of users across the most consequential blockchains. That reach was never our aim in itself. But simply the outcome of many small, careful decisions to keep the product fast, factual, and fair... Every day, every market cycle. This milestone belongs to the community: • To users and researchers: Thank you for trusting us to be your onchain lens. • To developers and project teams: Thank you for the feedback that sharpened the explorer and enriched the data. • To our EaaS partners: Thank you for choosing us to power the explorers your communities rely on. • To the Etherscan Team: Thank you for the steady and quiet work behind the scenes. As we look ahead, our principles remain unchanged: clarity over hype, neutrality over noise, respect for privacy, and an uncompromising focus on the details that make blockchains legible. This next chapter will also be defined by giving back—supporting the communities and ecosystems that made this journey possible. We will continue investing in tools, programs, and initiatives that strengthen the ecosystem and empower those who build and explore within it. Here’s to the next decade--> Back to building 🚀 @etherscan

2/ Bull runs can be extremely “exhausting” for teams and founders working in the space. I find it helpful to take a step back once in awhile and to reflect on value that was added and generated through the work done.

We initially started out without api keys, unfortunately this doesn't scale in the "real world" as the public api end points got ddosed, spammed and abused😢. With the V2 apis (docs.etherscan.io/etherscan-…), you only need single API key and endpoint to verify across >50 chain ids

Null Addr : 0x000..000 ? "addr" as the short form for address so that it fits within the limited available space

From what i can tell, optimistic.etherscan.io/addr… is a similar match to optimistic.etherscan.io/addr… So the contract source on Blockscan IDE display the latter (original source code)

It was not a $0 value transfer, if you look at the screenshot above it was an actual $10 USD transfer! So just purely obfuscating $0 value transfers would not only not work but provide a false sense of security.
