No secret here, but coding was a hobby for me before it was a career, so coding all day for work and then spending the evening coding is pretty nice and sort of relaxing. This changes if work has been stressful or intense, so those days I tend to code less in the evening, but I find it’s all about listening to your body and mind and not pushing yourself past your limit and into burnout.

"I'm struggling end of month with money yet trying to keep up my 300 USD donations to OSS because I think it's the right thing." As someone who also maintains and contributes to OSS, I'd recommend only giving what you can, when you can. I would never want someone to prioritise contributing to a project of mine over supporting themselves first. You could always up your contribution again in the future when you're in a more comfortable place financially. I agree though, the whole shipping fast rather than shipping things that are well tested and have some polish is something I'm not a big fan of.
