I've been a software developer for 10+ years.
Founded a startup in college with friends
Closed that company 4 years later
Worked for a 700 person "startup" that got bought for 2.3 Billion dollars (with a B)
Working for a consulting firm going on 2 years now.
I've always enjoyed programming but never had the drive to be the best programmer.
I don't care about the latest technology.
I don't care about the most performative function.
I don't care about climbing the corporate ladder.
I don't want to be a manager.
I don't fit the typical software engineer mold.
That's why I do my side projects. And eventually I won't have to depend on those companies to make a living.
So if you feel like you don't "fit" into certain roles, maybe you were meant for something different. Atypical.
There are other people out there like you.
Don't let corporate tell you what to be. They just want you for the maximum output at the cheapest cost.
It's just business.
So build something yourself.

But there is still a bottleneck: Growth
Unless a founder is great a short form content and hits the right audience, growth will be tirelessly slow.
Money is a huge factor in growth: paid ads, hiring, etc.
The game is still the same, just more people in the pipeline racing to the same bottleneck.
