Just got back from @ycombinator retreat! One of the most inspirational weekends I’ve ever experienced. A couple of my favorite learnings and takeaways are:
1) You can always move faster
2) As a founder, you must learn to love Type 2 fun

Shower thought idea for AI powered Podcast app with implementation outline:
Interest aware AI editor for raw episodes.
Here is the ai pipeline to pull it off:
- get whisper with diarization and timestamps to pull a transcript
- get huge context window like Gemini pro (2m) to separate it into logical QA pairs including their follow up queries, also pull out named entities and topics at this step
- take chapters and qa pairs and embed each
- have a critique LLM to rate the entire transcript on top 3 most surprising topics
- have another LLM pass rate each chapter in relation to this topic
Now you got a lot of segment metadata and annotation. Time to put it to use:
Have uses of your app determine their interests. Embed those.
When playing an episode allow users to start by determining how much time they have, and cut down to just the sections that KNN close to their interests and rate highly to main topics. Give a button to go deeper into a topic if the discussion is interesting. Treat that as signal and move the user embedding slightly more into the direction of that section.
I think could be the mvp beginnings of a totally amazing „everyone has their own editor in chief, just publish the raw audio“ trend.

Bonus points: allow this to work across podcasts: I have 40 mins in the gym. Play across all my subscriptions. Make jumps between podcasts use voice model to give broad outline like Spotify DJ. „OK tobi, Elon and team was on Lex and listen to what he said about neuralink progress <clip>“
