For those of you who have no clue who I am but keep seeing my name pop up... don't worry, you're not alone.
I've been in marketing for 6 years and have worked with companies such as: Disney, SUPRA Footwear, K-Swiss Global Brands, Brixton, Modelo, Safariland and so many more. Scaling our portfolio of work 180% YoY etc.
I grew up in the age of "no budgets" and a scrappy mentality. Launching brand campaigns off of strategic collaborations, organic/influencer takeovers and psychotic onsite activations. Selling out e-comm collections within minutes without $1 in digital ad spend and rubbing elbows with the biggest executives in the business at 23. My ego was high and my bank account low.
Then something changed my life. An incredible woman by the name of Luiza took me under her wing and taught me about paid social. Holy shit did that rock my world because my obsessive nature kicked into gear.
Within a year I was blessed with the Director of Paid Social position (I'm really fucking obsessive), just to be smacked again with iOS14.5. We lost people, clients and most of all, morale.
We had to pivot, so again, the solution obsession kicked in. I was speaking at events (AdWorld/Affiliate World/
@GeekEx_Edu ) and testing out loud. Showing people what we did, wins and losses. A/B testing Android vs. Apple devices, creating frameworks that enticed recurring traffic to reduce CPA & increase LTV during an unstable time. I honestly just wanted to share and learn more.
Nobody was sharing how they were pivoting - they either wanted to sell courses or explain what iOS14.5 was. No solutions. So, naturally, I slid in.. hard.
As we were testing strategies, we were also testing first party data/attribution platforms. This is where things got interesting - I didn't see anything on the market tailored towards media buyers. The platforms were clunky, UI/UX wasn't great and a lot of things just didn't make sense for my team to succeed.
That lead to -> fuck it, I want to build it the way I know will result in value and impact. After beta testing for 8 months, we rebuilt our portfolio of business with bigger brands. Our positioning changed to partner vs. media buyer with our clients and it was officially time for me to phase out and be the CEO of AdBeacon full time to further out this dream.
Along this journey I met some incredible people.
@smaxor @jordanrmenard
@laurentickner @iamshackelford @_zoekahn_ @ImChaseMohseni (so many more) People who align with the mentality that giving more than receiving is the key. Genuine relationships and value exceed that of hype and empty vanity.
I'm beyond blessed to call these people my friends. But above all, I'm even more blessed to be in a community that craves creativity, resourcefulness and supports other's wins.
If you want to send me screenshots of success - that's cool, I could show you mine too. But if you want to talk about the crazy creative back end shit you did to get there, say less, I'm there.
