Today was a sad day for all the members of @ucsf, @UCSFSurgery, @UCSFMedicine. We lost a beloved surgical resident. Evan was a brilliant rising star in our department. He was bright, gifted, hilarious, & skilled surgeon. The world is less without him. He will be missed. #RIP.

When I was in High School they told me I could not get in a great college. In college they told me I would not get in to Med School. In med school I was told the same thing. I am now a full professor of surgery. You can do it. Time, dedication, focus, heart, grit, passion!

As an ICU doctor and trauma surgeon with medicine training I can easily say that #GeorgeFloyd did not die from carbon monoxide poisoning. He died from over 9 minutes of a knee on his neck that lead to his death. He was strangled by a police officer. Dr Tobin is correct.

Today the mass shooting was horrific and the person who did it is in custody. The whole situation is terrible. Jayland Walker was shot at 90 times with 60 wounds and he is dead. As a trauma surgeon I have not seen some shot so many times. One is white(alive) one is dead(black)
