Proudly representing California's 4th Congressional District. Chair of @HouseGVP.

St. Helena, CA
On this day 60 years ago, the Medicare program launched. Today, one in six Californians are enrolled in Medicare. Medicare provides critical coverage for our nation’s seniors and disabled. I will continue to work to protect and strengthen the program for generations to come.

Glad to join Reps. @RepScottPeters and @RepJackBergman as an original cosponsor for a bipartisan resolution recognizing June as National Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) Awareness Month. Many PTS responses remain unreported, undiagnosed, and untreated due to a lack of awareness and persistent stigma associated with mental health treatment. This month and every month, we must continue to work to raise awareness and recognize the impact of PTS on service members and their families.

The Supreme Court ruled today to allow political parties to spend unlimited money when coordinating with a candidate to support their campaign. This will allow special interests to funnel even more money to candidates, giving them undue influence on our elections. This is a bad ruling and I continue to support legislation to get big money out of politics and to prevent members of congress from trading stocks. Our elections should reflect the will of the people, not the highest bidder. Read More: npr.org/2026/06/30/nx-s1-582…

Mail in voting is safe, simple and secure. We should be making it easier, not harder to increase voter turnout. The Supreme Court was correct to uphold the right to vote by mail and have our ballots counted. Read More: apnews.com/article/supreme-c…

For more than 75 years, researchers with the National Institutes of Health have developed life saving treatments. This administration is threatening to overturn decades of progress by letting politics interfere with science. I’m working with my colleagues to protect the science that saves lives.
