People can now cover distances that - were they to walk or bike - would take them hours or days. And yet one biker, one driver going 5 under the speed limit, or a crosswalk for children will send some into a rage. The sense of entitlement is putting everyone else in danger.

I saw a comment about how this is an example of Trump “failing up.” The public has made so many demands of Kamala to prove she’s qualified and her well-organized campaign made sure to meet this opportunity in a non-swing state. Trump didn’t respond & THEY FILLED IN FOR HIM.
The Deseret News invited both major-party presidential candidates to submit op-eds speaking directly to Latter-day Saint voters. Vice President @KamalaHarris submitted an op-ed, saying the election is about the “good work we can do together.” Former President @realDonaldTrump's campaign did not submit an op-ed. In the interest of balance and informing our audience, we are providing Trump’s remarks at a “virtual fireside” hosted by Latter-day Saints for Trump on Sept. 13, 2024, originally reported by Suzanne Bates. In his remarks, Trump said he and voters are united around values of family and religious freedom. Harris: bit.ly/3YD11kO Trump: bit.ly/4em8smm

I’m going to miss Sundance too but I really don’t think starting a new film festival is a good use of our Governor’s time tbh.
While we’re disappointed by Sundance’s decision to leave Utah, we wish them continued success in their next chapter. For more than 40 years, Utah has supported the Sundance Film Festival to become a global force in film, art, and culture. As I’ve said from the beginning, we wanted Sundance to stay. We made that clear to their leadership and put together a highly competitive package. Ultimately, this decision is theirs to make — but I believe it’s a mistake, and that one day, they’ll realize they left behind not just a place, but their heritage.  In the meantime, we’ll keep doing what we’ve always done: supporting filmmakers and building a world-class film economy right here in Utah. We have already begun meeting with partners, stakeholders, and creative voices to create a new festival — one that honors our legacy and writes the next chapter of independent film in Utah.

With all due respect, Senator - it is not spin to say this bill cuts Medicaid. It’s literally the savings mechanism used to offset the tax cuts. Please don’t disrespect your constituents like this.
Medicaid Reform: What's actually in the bill? You’ve heard a lot about Medicaid changes in the new bill. Let’s clear up the confusion — and talk about what it does and doesn’t do. No cuts. Just slower growth. The bill does NOT cut current Medicaid funding. It simply slows the rate of growth, the way families have to budget when money is tight. We’re keeping the safety net strong for those who truly need it. Now and in the future. Who's affected by new work requirements? Only able-bodied adults without young children. It is applied to those who can participate in 20 hrs/week of work, school, or volunteering. Not applied to seniors, people with disabilities, children, or caregivers of young kids. This is about responsibility, not punishment — and it reflects Utah values. Rural Utah matters. We heard the concerns:rural clinics must be protected. That's why this bill includes $50 billion to strengthen rural healthcare. We're not walking away from compassion — we’re protecting it by making Medicaid sustainable. What are your questions? Let's have a real conversation, not fear, not spin. Just facts and a commitment to doing what's right.
