Today I signed an Executive Order establishing a higher bar for data center development in Utah. Utahns deserve confidence that water resources, air quality, utility rates, wildlife, and quality of life will be protected. This framework helps ensure that data center development aligns with Utah’s long-term interests and reflects Utah values. In Utah, environmental stewardship and economic opportunity go hand in hand.

If you didn’t draw a buck deer or bull elk permit earlier this year, remaining 2026 deer, elk, and bison permits will begin going on sale July 7 through @UtahDWR. Permits are first come, first served, and hunters must have a valid hunting or combination license. More here: wildlife.utah.gov/remainingp…

Today, I was pleased to welcome Premier Doug Ford to Utah as we signed a trade MOU between Utah and Ontario. Together, we’re expanding collaboration on critical minerals, nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing and other industries that will strengthen North America’s economy and energy security. When our neighbors succeed, we all succeed. Looking forward to building even more together.

A long-awaited milestone more than a century in the making, the Museum of Utah is officially open. This museum will help tell Utah’s story, remind us who we are, and inspire generations of Utahns and visitors for years to come. Abby and I are grateful to everyone who helped make this possible. God bless Utah.

Today, we mourn three heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting lives and communities along the Utah-Colorado border. Please join Abby and me in praying for their loved ones, those who were injured, and every firefighter still on the line.
The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital. Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time. The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Additional details will be shared as they are able to be released.

We won’t accept a future where AI leaves workers behind. That’s why Utah launched the Pro-Human AI Initiative: to make sure technology empowers people instead of replacing them. We’re bringing together employers, educators, and government to help Utahns build new skills, prepare for the jobs of tomorrow, and ensure innovation creates more opportunity, not less. As part of that work, we’re partnering with @raiseus_ai to test new ideas that put workers first and help more people succeed in an AI economy. The future belongs to the states that invest in their people. More here: washingtonpost.com/technolog…

When the people who’ve dedicated their lives to protecting Utah tell us that this year is different, we need to listen. Our firefighters are risking their lives to protect Utah. Right now, they need our help. Today, I signed an executive order to temporarily restrict fireworks statewide through July 5. More than 75% of Utah’s wildfires have been human-caused, and the danger to lives, homes, and our firefighters is simply too high. This order gives local leaders, working with their fire chiefs, the flexibility to identify where fireworks can still be used safely. I love celebrating the Fourth with fireworks, but this year is different. Our goal is to make sure our neighborhoods and communities are still standing on July 5. 🇺🇸

We’re building a world-class academic medical campus at The Point. Today, the state, the @UofUHealth, and the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority finalized an agreement for about 46 acres, creating the future home of a major new health care campus within Utah’s innovation community. This investment will expand access to nationally recognized care, strengthen Utah’s health care workforce, advance research, and create new opportunities for generations of Utahns.

America’s story has always been written around kitchen tables, family dinners, church suppers, and block parties. As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, I’m inviting Utahns — and Americans everywhere — to join America’s Potluck on Sunday, July 5. Bring a favorite dish. Bring a friend. Bring your story. Learn more at AmericasPotluck.org. @America250

More than 50,000 acres in the Book Cliffs will remain open and accessible to the public thanks to a landmark agreement between SITLA and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. This historic partnership protects critical wildlife habitat, preserves hunting and fishing opportunities for future generations, and supports Utah's schoolchildren through a fair-market return to our trust funds. It's a win-win: conserving the places Utahns love while continuing to invest in education. More here: ksl.com/article/51513307/sit…

The Green River Energy Center is proof that Utah still knows how to build. rPlus Energies’ 400-megawatt solar and battery storage project is making a major contribution to energy abundance and affordability under Operation Gigawatt. 🔋 But this is about more than energy. When an electron reaches a hospital, lives are saved. When it reaches a school, students learn. When it reaches a home, families flourish. That’s what we’re building for. 🇺🇸 Thank you to the workers, local leaders, and partners across Utah who made this project possible.

More than 75% of Utah’s wildfires are human-caused, which means prevention starts with all of us. As hot, dry, and windy conditions continue across our state, please use extra caution outdoors and help reduce the risk of new fires. Thank you to the firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel working tirelessly to protect Utah.

Utah is facing multiple wildfires across the state today, and we are using every available resource to support response efforts. I’m grateful for the firefighters, first responders, emergency managers, law enforcement officers, and volunteers working around the clock to protect lives, homes, and communities. Conditions remain dry and dangerous. Please use extreme caution, follow evacuation notices, and do your part to prevent new fires. We are monitoring the situation closely.
