It was an intentional adjustment under Pope Gregory XIII called “Inter gravissimas” it was an adjustment because the calendar in use at the time did not fully sync with the solar year and this tried to get things back in sync.
As a developer, dealing with all this time crap is rather aggravating, so we just treat time as a singular number: The number of (milli)seconds since January 1 1970. (Think negative numbers like bc for prior dates)
Then we adjust from there to get a more human depiction of the date.

America has intelligence that Iran is at the point that it can produce a nuclear weapon within weeks to months, if they decide to finalize the assembly. The comparative advantage of illegal immigrants is that they are willing to ignore unjust law.
