Hi👋🏿
NOT ALL
#BITMAP FUD IS CREATED EQUAL
Trying my best to offer "Objective" thoughts around current concerns about Bitmap parcelization methods. I'm mainly speaking to those genuinely interested in the tech, innovation, and future of Bitmap.
Respectfully, for those here just to tear things down, this is NOT for you - it’s for those who actually want to see this space grow.
@blockamoto 's original definition of parcels as first child inscriptions of a Bitmap is of course clearly outlined in his Bitmap Whitepaper, but here’s where things NEED to evolve.
The way i see it when it comes to Parent-Child Inscriptions (even related to all of ordinals) the traditional method is inefficient. It assumes that Bitmap owners are responsible for inscribing all parcels (up to thousands of them) before distributing, which requires a significant amount of funds and trust. And let’s keep it real - most Bitmap owners won’t have the resources or time to do that.
So what’s the solution?
Well, the
@Blockrunners have presented one: creating a platform where others can INSCRIBE THEIR OWN PARCELS. This approach distributes the effort and lets both creators and community participate, making it a more scalable, community-driven method WHILE also maintaining the provenance. Yes, the provenance remains intact with the Bitmap owner, and now the power to inscribe is shared across the enitre ecosystem.
So what's the real concern here?
From what i can tell the concern is about indexing. Yes, @trac_btc currently handles the indexing for "The Natrix" (the name of the Bitmap District where the
@TheBlockRunner are testing out their new Land Distribution Event (LDE)), and some argue this centralizes the process. But here’s the real push: 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝. It’s not about whether
@TheBlockRunner or @trac_btc control things. It’s actually about enabling more creatives to build without placing the entire burden on the Bitmap owner.
BITMAP ALPHA: More adoption means more innovation. This is the way forward.
Am i saying
@TheBlockRunner 's method is the end all be all and only way this should happen. Yes lol. Kidding not kidding. It doesn't have to be, but where are the other efforts? Seeing way more 'bark than bite' out there.
So let’s all ask ourselves: Do we want innovation and wider access, or do we want to gatekeep and keep things inefficient? The tech is here, the solutions are being developed - let’s push for broader recognition and decentralization instead of dismissing proactive building for the greater development.
Most importantly, YOU HAVE TO THINK FOR YOURSELF HERE - Don’t be distracted by negativity. I've been following this space for a while now and i believe that Bitmap, TRAC, DMT, Blockrunners - we’re all part of this space. Let’s move forward together.
