Reports today say Labour MP Josh Simons is standing down from Makerfield so Andy Burnham can seek a route back into Parliament, with Burnham confirming he will request Labour NEC permission to stand. Andy Burnham has been one of the very few senior political voices to consistently acknowledge the devastating injustice faced by the 3.8 million UK taxpayers who were excluded from parity of Covid-19 financial support. He has joined #ExcludedUK livestreamed events, listened to those affected, challenged the lack of fairness, and raised the wider failures of Covid financial support at the Covid Inquiry.
