Here’s a reason to start today. For the first time in nearly 5 years, I can say ,I officially weigh under 300lbs. How I did it: Frank Walks and Barstool Fitness. I’ve legit just walked everyday for 520+ days, and do simple workouts 3x/week. Diet has cleaned up, but consistent activity has greatly increased. Why I did it: I was over 400lbs , in heart failure trying to take care of my dying mom and miserable. I noticed Frank was starting to walk consistently , and I literally thought to myself -if fucking Frank can do it, my fat ass can do it. I haven’t looked back since. Out of heart failure and now under 300lbs. Thanks Frank , Jenks , Mikey , Dan and Don. You guys are the best. The support I’ve gotten on this app has been unreal, thank you y’all. Change is hard , but so worth it. The Journey continues!

Walk 135 Frank saved my life, and I got to tell him personally. I haven’t really been public about my health issues but a backstory /Jenks inspired blog for people before-hand. In 2022 I was hospitalized for an infection of my heart and A-Fib(heart arrhythmia). I was ultimately diagnosed w/ heart failure ..in my mid 30’s. During the months ahead I ate my way to 400 + lbs and walking a quarter mile was pure hell. I was a total shit show. I was king fat ass for months. Fast forward to November 1st 2023, as a stoolie at heart, and a fan of Franks newly started walks , I said fuck this shit, I need to change . That day I said fuck it , if Frank can do this , so can I. So walk #1 started , nothing big just a quarter mile or so at a park in town. Little by little , everyday after , I walked … I just fucking walked. Nothing more , nothing less. Just progressed each day. Everyday I attacked my walk and told myself , get your shit together. In January of this year , my doctor told me , I was no longer in heart failure. All by just fucking walking everyday. Inspired by Frank. Today was walk #135 and as I’m writing this I’m already over 5miles walked today ,weighing 360lbs. The steps were pre planned to be crushed at Mets spring training ,and purely by chance ,Frank was at the game. I was able to introduce myself to Frank at the end of the first game and tell him in person… that he really did save my life . Frank and the crew graciously invited me on a walk, I said hell yeah. The fact that yesterday I was listening to the #FrankWalks w/ @stoolpresidente and now I was walking w/him was crazy at first. We walked the concourse and chatted about a common enemy -Javier Baez and how much of a BUM he was and still is. While crushing steps w/ the boys , I was absolutely blown away how many people knew Frank and wanted a pic. I can tell you from experience now , he shook every hand and took every picture.. made time for everyone. The best part was, the fucking Mets and Nationals players signing autographs after the game wanted to meet Frank! Wild. After the walk, we returned back to the seats for game 2 of the day. Sitting with Frank and the boys was also amazing ending . How many people can say they got to watch a Mets game w/Frank? Frank , Jenks and Mikey were all top notch today. All 3 welcomed me in and were the most down to earth people i’ve ever met. You guys work your asses off everyday and I appreciate people like that. Thanks for inspiring me Frank! Anudder walk down. One step at a time. Miss you mom! #FrankWalks #TanksArmy @MattPiperJenks @NjTank99 @RealMikeyBets

My Journey I’m open about my journey on here , and needed to share this with y’all. Tonight , I found a picture of myself on my dad’s phone from April of 2022. This pic was after EMS was called at my doctors office because my EKG said my heart rate was 242bpm and blood pressure was sky high. I was told in the hospital that day that I was in heart failure and had a serious heart arrhythmia. My heart was barely pumping enough blood to function. We’re talking 20ish percent of its normal function. After spending a week in the hospital I lost nearly 20lbs of fluid that had accumulated on me. When I got out, I was “changed”for about a week. The stress of caring of my sick mom and being between career changes put me back on a shitty path diet and exercise wise. Fast forward a year ish later and I was back to being absolutely miserable. In late October ish I think of 2023 I noticed @NjTank99 was starting to walk everyday. Being a stoolie and following him for a couple years, I thought to myself , shit , if fucking Frank can do this , so can I. November 1st 2023 , I made a promise to myself that I would get healthy again. I made it a goal to walk everyday, just like Frank. So for a guy with a masters in exercise science , a guy that used to coach first round NFL picks and MLB players , a guy that was in good shape to weigh almost 400lbs and struggle with walking in a store was, well, tough. After that first day struggling with a walk, I came the next day and the days after that with a mindset that I was going to change for the good. Everyday early on I would try to go further , starting at barely .25 of a mile , I soon worked my way to a mile. After walking everyday since November 1st 2023, I got the news in late January 2024 I was officially out of heart failure. By simply walking every day for a couple months, I increased my heart function well enough to not be in heart failure anymore. (Ejection fraction if anyone cares). Still have my heart arrhythmia but I was starting to feel somewhat on a good path. In January of 2024 I was weighing about 380lbs. Still positive about my journey , the unthinkable happened, on February 20th 2024 my mom passed away. Most of you don’t know me but my mom , like many of y’all’s was my best friend , and my job previous was taking care of her everyday. When she passed away , I still went for a walk that day and thought to myself , Aaron -two things can happen after today ; you’re either going to go back to old you and join your mom in heaven soon or you’re going to keep getting better everyday. I stayed with the second option and kept walking everyday . You know how I kept walking everyday after that? Baseball I went to almost every MLB spring training stadium in Florida . I witnessed 17 games , and walked the backfields and stadiums around to keep my walking streak alive . In March of 2024 , I went to Port St. Lucie for the Mets game, and got to tell Frank , Jenks and Mikey my story in person. One of the coolest days ever. After spring training was over , I just kept walking everyday. My weight slowly came down, and slowly cleaned my diet up. Chugging along, I was making progress slowly but surely. In the coming months I was returning to a normal blood pressure and was getting off certain meds. Finally , this March I was actually able to catch a Mets spring training game with Frank and hit my 500th walk with him. As of today, I have completely shattered any expectations of what I had out for me.I now weigh under 300lbs , still out of heart failure and living my best active life. I walk everyday still and I actually started lifting again. It all starts with one step people. If you read this far, I greatly appreciate you. #FrankWalks

More memories from cleaning out old boxes. Todd Jones will always be one of my favorite Detroit Tigers. He’s a huge part of why I love Tigers and baseball in general. I was lucky enough to have a dad who had season tickets in the first row on the 3rd base line. Every game Todd would throw me a ball and come over and talk baseball and life with me and my dad. He never missed a day coming up and talking to us. There was one time when I was 12 yrs old ,I had got in trouble for being a punk , and my dad shared that with Todd at the game. The next game Todd told me to come sit by the bullpen ,which used to be in LF at Tiger Stadium). (In the old bullpens back at Tiger stadium ,you were literally a row right behind the bullpen pitchers). After heading down behind the pen after the game started , Todd turned around , looked at me and said in his southern accent “Stop being a punk , that’ll get ya in trouble my guy”. Todd proceeded to ask the Detroit Police officer that used to sit in the down there in game to hand cuff me for a lil bit. Both of them laughed and my heart sank. He then went into the little dugout they had in the pen and I legitimately sat there with both hands ,handcuffed to the railing most of the game. I got uncuffed at the end of the 8th inning ,because he got called to get hot to pitch the 9th. I don’t know why they always stuck with me but I always loved Todd Jones on and off the field ! Class act , funny man all around. Baseball is such a cool memory maker.
