1/ Many use the term lock when describing #LightningNetwork payment channels since they are time-"locked" but in reality they are freed, upgraded, enabled to move fast and cheap without a trusted counterparty.

Been investigating this for a bit, including Pleroma, PeerTube, Hubzilla, Mastodon, Diaspora* and others. Many have mature code bases with extensive protocols and small but significant user bases. UX needs help but we're in the midst of a very creative period.

Every time I read about Ethereum I feel like an idiot. Never has an open source software project been so cryptic. Always new jargon, always new claims that I can't verify on my own (because I'm an idiot). Are the PoS claims falsifiable? Am I the only one who feels this way?

First full day post full-sync with Geth node. Used 3.9GB down, 23GB up. Just the 120GB down would stress many a home if bandwidth capped.
