Around 12pm today, three men dressed in DOGE shirts and MAGA hats entered various offices at San Francisco City Hall, demanding that employees turn over digital information related to alleged wasteful government spending and fraud. The employees refused their requests, and called San Francisco sheriff’s deputies. Deputies immediately responded but the individuals had fled the building. The incident is currently under investigation; SFSO is reviewing surveillance and using other investigative tools to pursue leads. We do not believe the individuals requesting access to City files were representatives from DOGE.
About 80 protesters, responsible for shutting down the Bay Bridge this morning, are cited and released as part of a joint effort by #SFSO@CHPSanFrancisco@SFPD#APEC

#sfsheriff deputies took part in a multi-agency operation in Jefferson Square Park in Western Addition last night that targeted the drug market. It's going to take coordination and determination to clean up our streets. Nice work @DanielLurie@SFPD@SFFDPIO@sfdem@sfpublicworks Let your voice be heard 3/6 at a District 2 Town Hall #publicsafety meeting at Marina Middle School at 5:30PM @sfbos
Today #sanfrancisco#sheriff Paul Miyamoto announced his plan to activate the #sfso Emergency Services Unit for the next six months to areas where open-air drug dealing and drug use runs rampant.
“Fighting the fentanyl crisis and tackling flagrant drug use on our streets requires a head-on, tough love approach,” said Sheriff Miyamoto. “The sad truth of drug addiction is that individuals rarely want to get the help they need until they hit rock bottom, which for many involved in this crisis, is incarceration. Those suffering from drug addiction are slowly dying on our streets because they have no reason to get clean and drug dealers are profiting off their pain. Without the threat of jail time, the City has no way of compelling individuals to participate in proven programs that address the root causes of addiction.”
Thanks to all the City leaders standing with us! @SFPDChief @BrookeJenkinsSF@SFDEM_MEC@Stefani4CA@JoelEngardio@mattdorsey@Ahsha_Safai@SanFranciscoDSA

Tasers help deputies protect public safety without deadly force. #SFsheriff joined with #SFPD this morning on a foot pursuit that began at Sacramento and Polk Streets to apprehend a man who was acting erratically and armed with what appeared to be a knife. For more than a mile, SFPD officers tried deploying ERIWs (Extended Range Impact Weapon) and pepper spray to subdue the suspect, but it proved ineffective. Sheriff Miyamoto was enroute to San Francisco County Jail, when he heard the incident unfolding on radio dispatch, and responded. At 6th and Clementina Streets, Sheriff Miyamoto first deployed his taser, striking the suspect, followed by Deputy B. Lau, whose taser also struck the suspect. The individual was taken into custody without further incident. Authorities determined later that the object in the suspect’s hand was a pair of scissors without a handle. #lawenforcement#leadership#publicsafety#Taser

"Pre-Trial Electronic Monitoring is an innovative program that allows incarcerated individuals, often charged with serious and violent offenses, to receive services, and avail themselves of opportunities in the community that provide them a chance to succeed while awaiting the resolution of their criminal matters." -Sheriff Miyamoto
