I don’t want to share revenue. I don’t want to post client messages. I don’t want to share inter alternatives. I don’t want to tweet “Did I cook?” I don’t want to bait for engagement. I don’t want to post threads. I don’t want to say how much I charged for a landing page and how long did it take me. I want my work to speak. I want my craft to be the talking point. I want my ideas to be the discussion. And I’m genuinely happy that this app’s algorithm rewards this, at least for the moment. I have to create more!

I’m proud to share a small milestone here on LinkedIn: A few weeks ago, our team did a whole brand identity and website design for @opencutapp –– an open source startup. Since then, it’s brought in over 60,000 waitlist signups. No tricks. No gimmicks. Just a fast page, clear story, and design that respects the user. Grateful to the team for the trust, and to everyone who joined the waitlist🔥🚀

I went from 0 to 1000 followers in about a month. and I’ve already closed 2 inbound clients🤫 Firstly, thanks everyone - this means a lot to me. Secondly, here’s exactly what I did and how: 1. Find your first believers and build relationships. Get into a niche community. Doesn’t need to relate to your niche; mine niche was open source projects that have taste. Provide real value however you can. I did 3 free hero roasts and designed a free logo just to get noticed. 2. Keep the momentum going once you start. Step one will help you make friends and get your first followers. Don’t stop there, keep engaging and adding value. Your goal is to get featured or noticed by bigger accounts. I left a reply with my work under a big account here, and another big account saw it and reposted it. I gained 50 followers just from that. 3. Focus on reaching 200-300 followers. This is the spot where you become enough to get engaged with. Post your work consistently. Share what you do. Be a little unique. It’s really about volume at this stage. 4. Once you hit 200-300, you have the potential to go viral. But here’s the thing, don’t go viral with memes. They will bring you engagement, but not followers. Go viral with your actual work! Post something unique that hasn’t been done before, or not to that degree. Post lots, and you will get it. That’s my complete journey right there. I think this’s the best approach, though the algorithm might change and we’ll all need to post threads to get follows 💀 Really hope this helps some of you!

Never used inter because it’s typically the kind of generic font that makes every non-designer think they are being fancy when they are just being like everybody else.

I’ve come to believe Twitter/X is the highest leverage you can have right now. The people who land in my DMs still fascinates me. Job offers from companies I’d never reach otherwise. Conversations I never thought I’d be part of. Two months ago I was chasing every project. Now I choose what matters and let the rest go. I don’t know what’s next. Which paths will open. Which networks will lead to another door. But I'm certain, this might be the most valuable asset you can build today.

a lot of people mentioned conversion, so i thought i’d share a my thoughts: 1. conversion is the most important factor. if it doesn’t sell, it’s a bad design. 2. there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. we need to define the ICP and build from there. obviously, i wouldn’t design like this for a 60yo audience. 3. you need to break the rules. if you think CRO guidelines from 20 years ago will drive sales, you might be wrong.
Can we normalize not boring UIs?

I think many designers, and therefore the companies they’re designing for, would benefit from breaking the rules. Yes, you can follow conversion rate optimisation guidelines written 20 years ago, but it doesn’t always mean that you should. 4-section pricing page may convert worse than a 1 bento card with clear monthly cost. 8-page landing page may convert worse then a napkin size waitlist with clear value proposition. Even things like fonts or icons could benefit from breaking that 4px system. Yes, you can use that 15px size. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Don’t be afraid to pitch new ideas. Don’t be afraid to design something non ordinary. Design is not one-fit-for-all solution. And it doesn’t want to be…

fair enough, everyone has different tastes. that’s why, when working with clients, we explore a range of directions. my goal isn’t just to create something they like. my goal is to bring revenue. and frankly, those boring, generic layouts? they work.

hmm for me, this isn't it. it's lost all of it's character and uniqueness - it just looks like a generic SaaS now. our landing rn isn't perfect, but it's unique and has character.

both are important, but ux is harder you’d 100% use a product where buttons don’t have shadows, landing page is without gradients, or icons are unbalanced but you’ll never use a product where you have to think twice about where something is or what it does

I’ve grown by ~1.5cm in 6 months (since turning 19) was 179-180 for 3 years since 16, then started: - sleep 8-9 hours instead of 7 - sprints weekly - weights 5-6 times a week - eating healthy and lots also did some stretching for 2-3 weeks, but I don’t think it helped
