As for myself, flipping burgers starting Monday 9am. All jokes aside, I'm still tying up any loose ends for @Complexity for a few days (week?) but ultimately an organisation without a CS team doesn't require a CS GM. Complexity have always gone above and beyond and even further for me and I'll be forever grateful to have been here for 4 years. I'd have stayed without question if it made any sense for them but it simply doesn't. So I'm essentially on the market for a new role immediately. I'm definitely not locked to CS, my decades(actual, not grifter) experience on both sides of the TO and Org fence of the ecosystem give me a pretty unique skill and experience set. So if you're a team, a TO or something... adjacent🙄, and need someone to run through brick walls day after day, I just might be your guy.

Your event doesn't even use a version of the TOR where that rule exists. That rule was added on March 25th 2025. Since all tournaments use the TOR version based off the additional information deadline which for Tier 1 events is 10 months prior to your event, it's impossible to have this rule apply to your event this year.

paiN Gaming has been removed from participation in the BLAST Premier Open Season 2. This decision follows Valve's official tournament rule 3.2.5(c), which states that teams who have previously declined an invitation to the same tournament are not eligible to compete. paiN initially declined their direct invitation to the South American Closed Qualifier for BLAST Open S2. As a result, they are ineligible to participate in The Open. The team has been informed of this decision and their invitation now passes to the next team in the invitation date VRS rankings. With Legacy next in-line for direct invitation, their closed qualification spot now passes to the South American runner-up Imperial. #BLASTPremier

So obviously this is to allow teams to fly from Bucharest to Chengdu and arrive and I guess miss media day but make it for the first matches. @AuroraCS2_GG and @GamerLegion, - the only two teams to do their jobs properly by rejecting Chengdu to play Bucharest - have now just been screwed becsuse all the teams around them can now play both and they can only play one. And now teams will once again play mega jetlagged after travelling, potentially inflicting weird results on VRS like Dallas. 8-10 (final number TBA I guess, but this is a solid estimate) teams just had a locked in event taken away from them (probably same ones who also lost out on Fissure/Starladder double up too) because of all the teams that will now attend both that previously couldn't. How is it possible to move up in the ranks if the top events - even when they overlap - either find a way to change their dates or completely gut their events (starladder) and it still be okay @CounterStrike. When we spoke in Copenhagen in 2024 you said you wanted the teams to vote with their feet and force TO's to compete for their attendance. Allowing all this negates that entirely.
PGL Counter-Strike 2 Updates: 1. We’ve adjusted the schedule for PGL Masters Bucharest, and the event will now conclude a day earlier: on Saturday, November 1st, instead of Sunday. 2. At PGL, we are strong supporters of transparency, the strict application of rules, and a fair ecosystem. We would like to draw everyone’s attention to what has been announced in the past, so everyone knows what to expect, and to emphasise what is important for both teams and the wider community to remember and understand. As part of the additional information for Cluj-Napoca 2026, we posted a rule that could disqualify a roster from a Direct VRS Invite: “A team will be denied an invitation if they accepted the invite for, but failed to attend, the previous PGL event for which they were eligible.” Following that announcement, we have decided to review it and not include it as part of the rules for our future events. This rule will not apply to any other PGL events in 2026 (with the exception of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026) or to any future tournaments.

Another event that quietly removed 8-10 global VRS invites and replaced them with 12 European VRS invites AFTER they had already run qualifiers in NA and SA. Interesting situation. First and foremost, credit to @ESLCS to actually sticking to their rules and enforcing it. @BLASTPremier I know you've got some new management now but a lesson to be learned/reinforced here for you. A teams roster is 100% unequivocally the teams responsibility to maintain and ensure it meets the tournament rules and requirements and to arrive with intent to play with a roster that doesn't meet those requirements is 100% on FaZe. I am sure ESL had no intention of luring FaZe into some kind of trap to make them forfeit. ESL gets no benefit from not having G2 vs FaZe played out it's a playoff billing match in the opening phase of swiss. I am sure ESL will be looking at some processes internally on how they "let" (again, it's FaZe's responsibility, not ESL's) FaZe get so close to the match - I assume through media and SSD setup yesterday - without someone from their player or tournament management teams flagging they may have an ineligible roster and to talk to them about it. I imagine rain could have made it in time if caught yesterday for example.
#ESLProLeague S22 Update: @FaZeClan have decided to forfeit today's match against @G2CSGO. @FURIA vs. @3DMAXGaming will instead be the match featured on the main broadcast at 18:00 CEST.

Needless to say, this is a fucking joke - because they don't want to compete for teams with FISSURE event on the same dates? So now 12ish teams lose out on a full LAN event - especially teams from non-EU regions. TO's announce events a year in advance, teams plan around X amount of events, TO's cancel or greatly modify their event formats to the detriment of teams expecting to be able to play them or gain a certain amount of value from them - this one being extremely egregious as two events at the same time means the invite depth was pretty extensive. @CounterStrike how can you allow this? How is this event still a Tier 1 event with all these changes? They've clearly missed the additional info deadline for a Tier 1 event with this many core changes to their event 2 months out.

There is a pretty major flaw in the way Valve (and HLTV?) are calcualating the VRS with regards to on-going events (in todays case, Katowice) which has been going on for months but since today is a major invite cut-off it's more relevent than ever. On a very basic level - teams who are knocked out of an on-going tournament (Katowice) have the full value f.ex prize money, of attending counting towards their ranking as of 3rd February. Teams who are not eliminated - do not. This in theory could lead to teams overtaking others due to being eliminated and gaining the full value of the event - vs teams who are still in the tournament who haven't gained that value.

I agree @CounterStrike But then you, yourselves, need to take an active involvement in overseeing this. Between granting uneccessary exceptions, allowing events that completely disregard the TOR and specifically granting ranked status to events that should not have it, your own negligence towards "standardising community events" has been below the quality we would expect these past 6 months. Now you've removed all wiggle room for teams to qualify from slightly lower ranks and made it solely about the ranking which can be abused semi-freely, are you going to finally step up and take a more active role in monitoring and maintaining the VRS ecosystem?

So PW have managed to: - Invite a team who are ranked too high via a Valve enabled exception (FaZe) - Convert 2x Asia qualifier to 2x Chinese qualifier meaning there is no path for non-Chinese teams to attend now - Removed a qualifier slot from NA in favour of 1x EU qual slot - New Americas qual in Brazil so it's essentially an SA qual - Removed a global invite in favour of adding 1x more EU qual - Invite teams from July VRS before even announcing their additional info meaning they could just cut off invites whenever they felt So now there will be 4 Chinese teams vs global teams, seems pretty horrible that an organiser can target their own specific sub-region so heavily whilst completely ignoring every other sub-region. How can you allow such an event to even exist @CounterStrike ? Granting exceptions left and right and letting TO's just do whatever they please whilst systematically negatively impacting other sub-regions who are planning their entire lives around having slots available that no longer are available. You are actively allowing TO's to harm your global ecosystem.

Now GODSENT have eliminated EG from the IEM Dallas qualifier, there are no more teams who can gain ESL Pro Tour points for Cologne in NA who are not already in qualification slots. Meaning @Complexity is now qualified for @ESLCS Cologne play-in stage! #WeAreCOL

We've racked up 310 nights in hotels in 5 cities in 5 countries. Average length of a stay in a single hotel is a little over 8 days. We're only 72 days into 2023.

Not having a backup mouse with you at a tier 1 event in 2025 is complete negligence of duty to yourself, your teammates and the tournament as a whole. I refer you to Steve Smith, a man who can identify which active and backup bat he is holding blindfolded. Be like Steve (except for when he cheated, don't do the cheating part). piped.video/watch?v=RaOCuDdB…

Hey @CounterStrike I realise you're probably sick of me by now and I totally get it. I try to be fair, I praise the good things and I have negative thoughts about things i disagree with. It's getting to the point where your decision making combined with lack of communication is becoming a clear detriment to the ecosystem. I remind you that you wrote that one of the goals of VRS was to standarise community events. With you allowing multiple TO's to remove LAN portions of events, removal global invites in favour of EU and many other clear violations of the TOR, it's becoming increasingly problematic. Not to mention that what you allow some TO's to do, you don't allow others to do. How is this standardising? Contrary to standardising, it's uncessary and disruptive - words you used to describe a seperate major qualification process when you removed them in favour of pure VRS invites. When do you plan on assigning these TBD Stage 1 slots to the major? The season has started, teams deserve to know their path towards qualifying to the major. We deserve better.

For real. Journalists are too nice. Many teams/players too sensitive to even do losers/hard interviews/questions. Needs to change.

Obviously this has "worked out" and it's kinda essential to have your IGL play especially in Astralis current circumstance. But this seems like a crazy risk 2 weeks out from the RMR/Major to be potentially aggravating a serious injury.
FINE here is the truth about @caspercadiaN arm 🔊
