.@POTUS, please remember that we voted for mass deportations, not for amnesty of any kind. Your successful deportation program presents a great opportunity to make jobs in agriculture, travel, and others more attractive to American workers. Let’s incentive farmers to mechanize, rather than relying on foreign workers to produce our food.

No. Americans did not vote for amnesty. We voted for mass deportations. Amnesty is NEVER the answer, @realDonaldTrump.
🚨 BREAKING: President Trump announces he is working on legislation to protect long-time farm and hospitality workers who get "thrown out viciously," presumably referring to immigration raids. "Radical right people, who I happen to like, may not be quite as happy, but they'll understand." Trump says Agriculture Secretary BROOKE ROLLINS brought this issue up. "Let the farmers be responsible." His comments in full context: "We're working on legislation right now where farmers, look, they know better. They work with them for years. You had cases that where not here, but just even over the years where people have worked for a farm for 14, 15 years, and they get thrown out pretty viciously. And we can't do it." "We got to work with the farmers and people that have hotels and leisure properties, too. We're going to work with them and we're going to work very strong and smart." "And we're going to put you in charge. We're going to make you responsible. And I think that that's going to make a lot of people happy." "Now, serious radical right people, who I also happen to like a lot, they may not be quite as happy, but they'll understand, won't they? Do you think so?" "Madam Secretary [Brooke Rollins], look at you with the white hat on. Do you think they'll understand that you're the one that brought this whole situation up."

Actually, H-1Bs are not critical for the medical system. We have American medical students who are denied residency programs because the medical establishment limits them. Even after going $10s of thousands in debt and passing all their classes, these Americans are denied residency programs, while foreign students are admitted. That’s just wrong.

.@POTUS @SecRollins Thank you, @MeriwetherFarms, for pointing out the fact that agricultural producers don’t have to rely on illegal labor.
Just wanted to reiterate—we only hire US citizens on our farm and in our meat packing plant. All of our full-time employees have health care. We can do this by being vertically integrated and diversified. Most small operations like ours rely on family members, hire locals or, on the rare occasion, use legal and seasonal Visa programs. The recent order released by the Department of Homeland Security regarding ICE raids will only benefit the Big Packers and Big Ag, who exploit illegal labor. We are very supportive of President Trump and all he is doing for this country. However, if the leadership at the USDA is actually interested in saving Agriculture, perhaps they shouldn’t rely on information coming from the operations that are putting small guys like us out of business. We are ready and willing to collaborate with the Trump Administration on how to deliver on his Immigration mandate while also protecting the small and independent producer. Immigration policy does not belong in trade deals. We are a nation, not an economic zone.
Any U.S. trade deal that links market access to more visas is a bad bargain for American workers. “India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is in the US to seek an end to the impasse and reach a bilateral trade deal by the fall of this year, with the mobility of skilled workers being vital to India's services exports.”

When you come here on a TEMPORARY work visa like the H-1B, you have no right to “expect” to get permanent residency ever, let alone in within several years. You made a choice to bring your children here on your TEMPORARY visa, so they have no right to expect to stay permanently, either.
H-1B families expect to come here and get permanent residency within several years. But the government pulls the rug out from under them and shifts the projected wait to sometimes 10 years later. A kid raised in the US legally at a young should be able to remain in the US. They shouldn't have to go through a lottery or whatever. That "line going up" translates into more jobs and better services for Americans. The suggestion that tax revenue and GDP are completely untethered to economic conditions for working Americans laughable and I await the day where that game of pretend stops.

Cool. So the ICE order to not do worksite enforcement at farms and meatpacking plants will be rescinded, and ag employers will be ordered to use E-Verify and use LEGAL H-2A workers and Americans rather than illegal workers, right?
Ignore the noise from the fake news media and the grifters trying to divide us. I fully support President Trump’s America First immigration agenda as stated in his campaign, starting with strong border security and deportations of EVERY illegal alien. This agenda is essential to fixing a broken farm-labor economy and restoring integrity to the American workforce. The President and I have consistently advanced a "Farmers First" approach, recognizing that American households depend upon a stable and LEGAL agricultural workforce. Severe disruptions to our food supply would harm Americans. It took us decades to get into this mess and we are prioritizing deportations in a way that will get us out. This administration is undeniably focused on the America First agenda and my work at the Department of Agriculture is no different.

No. Farmers, just like all other employers in the US, are subject to the rule of law. The fact that they ignored the law and hired illegal aliens makes them criminals. The rule of law must apply to all or to none.
Trump: We’re going to do something for farmers where we can let the farmer sort of be in charge. The farmer knows. He's not going to hire a murderer. I'm on both sides. I'm the strongest immigration guy, but I'm also the strongest farmer guy there's ever been. And that includes also hotels and, you know, places where people work, a certain group of people work.  We're going to work it so that some kind of a temporary pass where people pay taxes, where the farmer can have a little control as opposed to you walk in and take everybody away.  But, no, I want -- the criminals are going out of this country.

Most H-1Bs are entry-level workers, not “high-skilled workers.” Far more than 85,000 H-1B visas are issued each year, since those going to work for nonprofits and research institutions are exempt from the cap. And even if “only about 85,000” were issued each year, that’s 85,000 American jobs that are not going to Americans who need them.

Wow. It’s great to be able to repost an immigration attorney who speaks the truth. Yes, we should terminate the H-1B program.
Should President Trump terminate the H-1B visa program? As an immigration attorney who advocates for an America-First approach—yes, I know how rare that is—I think Trump should do it for three reasons: 1. Displacement of American Workers The H1B program allows companies to lay off American workers and replace them with foreign workers who are often paid less, prioritizing cost savings over U.S. job security. This undermines the claim that H-1B visas are used only when qualified American workers are unavailable. For example, Microsoft—which is making record profits these days—recently laid off over 15,000 American workers, including software engineers and IT staff, while simultaneously filing over 14,000 H1B visa petitions. Reports indicate that many of these visas were for roles in the same locations and job categories as the laid-off workers, suggesting direct replacement. 2. Wage Suppression and Exploitation The H1B visa program enables companies to hire foreign workers at lower wages, suppressing salaries for American workers and exploiting H-1B workers who are tied to their employer-sponsored visas. This creates a race-to-the-bottom effect on wages in tech and other industries. H-1B workers also face exploitation because they risk deportation if terminated, with only a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsor. 3. Abuse by Outsourcing Firms Outsourcing firms, particularly Indian IT companies, exploit the H1B program by securing a disproportionate share of visas to supply low-cost labor, often for non-specialized roles. These firms engage in practices like filing visas for nonexistent jobs or “benching” workers, undermining the program’s purpose of addressing genuine skill shortages. I'm Joseph Bovino, U.S. immigration and business attorney based in Miami and serving clients worldwide. Let me know if you agree that it's time to terminate, phase out, or replace the H1B visa program. Use the link in my bio if you'd like to schedule a video consultation with about another type of visa that actually benefits you AND America, such as an E2 investor visa or the O1 visa for individuals with extraordinary ability. What stories like this hint at but don't explore is that H-1B is just one part of a corrupt system that starts with too many student visas, then the illegal OPT program, then H-1B, & finally PERM to convert to green cards. The whole needs needs smashing. wsj.com/world/india/h1b-visa…

The Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill only taxes remittances that are sent via wire transfers. The House version of the bill taxes all remittances, whether sent via wire transfers, bank transfers, or credit/debit cards. Call your senators and tell them you want ALL remittances taxed, not just those sent by wire transfer. You can find contact information for your Senators here: iaproject.org/accountability… Or you can call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Senator’s office

Yep. Mass immigration—legal and illegal—is harming America.
America’s foreign-born population has a record high of 53.3 MILLION, equal to 15% of our TOTAL population. Too much LEGAL immigration impacts cultural, fiscal, and economic issues as ILLEGAL immigration does. washingtonexaminer.com/resto…

Yes. Legal immigration averages 1.1 MILLION each year. It must be reduced.
Did you know—675,000 people are allowed into the United States each year with a permanent immigrant visa through the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)? On top of those 675,000 visas, the INA sets no limit on the annual admission of U.S. citizens’ spouses, parents, and children under the age of 21–Via the @immcouncil: americanimmigrationcouncil.o…

Every state governor has the authority to bar state agencies from hiring nonimmigrant workers and the authority to disallow state universities from recommending OPT for foreign students. Will any governor step up and stand for American workers?
Buy from businesses that hire Americans. I’m aware immigration law is federal but individual states should also be allowed to deny H-1B visa workers in their states

Yep. It’s long past time to end mass immigration—LEGAL and illegal—to the United States.
After Biden allowed millions of migrants from all over the world to stay here on TPS, after work visas enabled the great replacement of Americans in white-collar professions and shut out a generation of young grads, after terrorists have on many occasions entered our country LEGALLY... How is anyone, let alone any Republican, still trying to make the brain-rotted argument that immigration is good as long as it's "legal"? Governor @RonDeSantis is so right about this.

End H-1B and OPT and abuse of foreign student visas, and reduce legal immigration. Mass immigration is harming Americans.
Parents, if your son or daughter is trying to find a job, and can’t, it may not be their fault. There are so many immigrants flooding the United States, businesses favoring them because they’re cheaper, may be preventing your children from finding work. It’s the policy of Americans last. End the H -1b.

No one who entered our country illegally or overstayed a visa “deserves” to stay here. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve successfully violated our laws. If you are here illegally, you need to go home.
GOP Rep. Maria Salazar: "There is another mass of people, most of them Hispanics, who have been here for more than five years contributing to the economy, who do not have a criminal record, and those people deserve some type of dignity and deserve to stay."

According to the news release, all you are actually proposing is that you will start doing your job of investigating fraud and abuse in the H-1B program. That’s great, but that is not going to “ensure employers prioritize American workers,” since the law doesn’t require employers to prioritize American workers. What else ya got?
Highly-skilled jobs should go to AMERICANS FIRST! That’s why we launched Project Firewall to end H-1B abuse and ensure employers prioritize American Workers in the hiring process 🇺🇸

Zero sympathy for companies or individuals who have been relying on cheap, illegal labor. They’ve been screwing American workers and suppressing wages. They should be prosecuted.
This is where all our American jobs went “An update on the ICE raids from the perspective of a general contractor. I just had a roofer completely cancel on my job because he is picking up the pieces from all of his other job sites that got raided and the crews are just gone” — “I cannot physically complete it because I am personally working on a number of roofs that the crews are just gone.” These companies need to face penalties.

This is fantastic proof that @RonDeSantis is listening to American workers! Every state governor should follow his lead!
🚨 BREAKING: In a bombshell moment, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ABOLISHES H-1B VISAS from being used at state universities "We can do it with Florida RESIDENTS or AMERICANS! If we can't? Then man, we need to REALLY look deeply at what's going on with this situation!" DeSantis exposed that H-1B AUDITS found colleges were bringing in Chinese people on visas to talk to students about "public policy," among other issues. "Why do we need to bring someone from CHINA to talk about public policy?!" "I am directing today the Florida Board of Governors to PULL THE PLUG on the use of these H-1B visas at our universities." HUGE! I LOVE my state! @GovRonDeSantis ☀️

Utah has lost the plot. Did it occur to anyone when they were expanding the DL test to 10+ languages that they would also need to print every road sign in 10+ languages if they want drivers to be able to read them? Dumb moves like this put American lives at risk.
Utah was one of the first states to allow illegals to get driver’s licenses, legalizing “driver privilege cards” in 2005. Since then, we’ve also expanded the drivers license test to include 10+ languages. Somehow, despite Republicans holding the governors office & legislature since the mid 80s, Utah has led the way in adopting some of the most left-wing immigration policies in the country.

We couldn’t agree more, @VP. It is time to end mass immigration.
VP Vance on immigration policies: “We have got to become a common community again. And you can't do that when you have such high numbers of immigration, which is one of the reasons why we have the immigration policy we do.”

Every illegal alien in the US should be deported. Period.
Every illegal alien that came in during the Biden administration, whether CBP1 or crossing through non port of entries, should all be deported. Every single one.

Yes. Immigration is a major reason for soaring housing prices.
I agree that zoning is a big problem that needs to be reformed, but what about, say, immigration's effect on housing prices? - We have ~50 million foreign born residents in the US - We admit ~1 million immigrants per year - Under the Biden admin large numbers of people just came across the border - Immigrants account for a very large share of people, and thus housing in many markets, such as ~40% of NYC. This large exogenous demand in a supply constrained market would seem to play a large factor in why housing prices are so high, and would feature prominently in any discussion of these issues.

We absolutely support a moratorium so we can get our house in order. @RepChipRoy
🚨 JUST IN: Congressman CHIP ROY (R-TX) is filing legislation that HALTS ALL legal immigration until H-1B visas are abolished, birthright citizenship is handled and chain migration is addressed. "I've got a bill I'm introducing...that is a freeze on all immigration until we achieve certain objectives." "Reforming chain migration...ending H1-B, and getting birthright citizenship dealt with." "We can amend that bill, but it will be a framework to say, why don't we just freeze immigration entirely until we SORT THIS CRAP OUT?" @ChipRoyTX tells @BennyJohnson 💯💯 Good. Somebody's gotta start filing to get things moving. Or else NOTHING will happen or become law.

America needs to move to a merit-based immigration system, but the fact is that most of the foreigners who came to the US on nonimmigrant visas, like H-1B, are not highly skilled professionals. They are taking jobs that Americans are willing and qualified to do, but employers prefer cheap, foreign labor. This must end.

Replying to @GovSherrillNJ
“Immigrant communities” have nothing to fear from the Trump Admin, since “immigrants” are lawful PERMANENT residents. Aliens with TEMPORARY Protected Status have no right to remain here permanently. See how that works?

Good! Are you also going after the developers who purposefully made Colony Ridge a sanctuary for illegal aliens and cartel members?
Colony Ridge is being targeted today. Texas DPS Troopers & Special Agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations, with an operation in Colony Ridge this morning. They are targeting criminals & illegal immigrants. I have worked with Tom Homan on this for months.

LOL. Nope. We’re still working on it. H-4 EADs have to go.
A decade-long effort by immigration restrictionists to overturn Obama-era rules allowing the spouses of H-1B holders to legally work (people potentially here for decades while their spouse waits in employment visa backlogs) has now finally been put to bed.
