There are many competing visions & narratives about what the USA or stands for today. I choose to stand with my fellow Americans who feed, house, clothe, & welcome those who are in need, without fear or favor. To those to whom much are given, more is expected. 🙌 @chefjoseandres
This photo of our @WCKitchen team distributing sandwiches to hungry Venezuelans on the Francisco Bridge in Cúcuta says more than my words can describe... #ChefsForVenezuela #ChefsForThePeople

Our moment didn’t get global attention, but I think the response held up. Jump ahead for my daughter’s giggles. piped.video/watch?v=gqLOZas4…

Putin’s favored candidate in 2016 2020, & 2024 has always been Trump. Amplifying false Russian talking points to the contrary either makes you complicit, or a useful idiot who has refused to read the vast amount of evidence of Russian active measures. Cf. DoJ: justice.gov/archives/sco/fil… & Senate: intelligence.senate.gov/site…

Steve Martin as Roger Stone was an unexpected casting call on Saturday Night Live tonight. Having him ask for a pardon directly the TV on Fox News was a razor-sharp cut. I laughed at Martin’s riff at the end, parodying his classic “wild & crazy guy” bit. #SNL

Folks who work on good governance & democracy integrity have been raising the alarm for years. The slide of the US away from healthy democracy is much further along than the public realizes. Read this thread from former @OfficeGovEthics director to get a sense of the risk/danger:

Which part of this speech was a “political attack on his opponent” ? whitehouse.gov/briefing-room… There is no mention of former President Trump. There is a reference to Putin & his war on Ukraine. (It was not “appropriate” for the previous President to refuse to concede, attempt an autocoup, & incite seditious mob violence with lies to prevent the transfer of power, but that was not the subject of this remembrance.)

Mr. Chairman, @potus44 criticized a Supreme Court decision, not Justice Alito. That’s not a rebuke. nbcnews.com/id/35790685/ns/p… @realDonaldTrump is attacking the independent judiciary itself, politicizing the courts & law enforcement, & Roberts by name. On Thanksgiving Day, no less.

How this not be a gross violation of federalism and explicit overturn of state’s rights? Would you accept & encourage Congress overturning vehicle standards that the elected representatives of Arkansas enact ?

A @nytimes analysis of travel patterns based on “anonymous cellphone data” from 15 million people, measuring distance travelled, vividly shows where Americans have complied with #StayHome orders, & where people kept moving. nytimes.com/interactive/2020… Takeaway: Florida acted too late

Like “John Barron,” who lied to Forbes about your wealth? washingtonpost.com/outlook/t… Or the “senior administration officials” your @whitehouse @presssec still insists must be “on background?” You’re lying to the public: editors must know who a source is. Reporters don’t invent them.

There were tampons in our family bathroom growing up, & I survived. Stigmatizing menstrual products or menstruation isn’t healthy for anyone. As a parent, I’m far more worried about kids not only having to practice for school shootings, but living in fear of that genuine risk.
