Just wrapped up my latest AI video ad project🎥🍿! I had a lot of creative freedom on this one, writing the script and crafting the storyboard from scratch. My idea for the video was inspired by those gritty truck ads from my childhood - tough, with rock music, for the straight-shooter who values efficiency. The client, @BetterLegal, aimed to spotlight their AI contract analysis tool's perks for construction professionals. Big shoutout to @elevenlabs for their increasingly impressive voice models - they're seriously game-changing. Also used @midjourney, @Magnific_AI's upscaler, and @runwayml's gen2. Really happy with how this one came out!

It's hard to believe how good @runwayml's Gen3 model really is. The level of detail and cinematography possible is going to shock a lot of people. I'm almost done cooking my first short story. Excited to share, wrapping up sound design and musical score. 🥳🎬

A fun AI-ad video project I worked on recently. I really liked how it came out, with a humorous 3-shot vignette of famous billionaires followed by a business angle. However, this one really got me thinking about generative AI likenesses. Yesterday, @MKBHD released a video on OpenAI's new Sora model and said, "You shouldn't be able to generate people's likenesses. Like you shouldn't be able to make a politician look like their doing something on video." I found myself completely disagreeing with his take. There's already a legal framework in place to protect artists using public figures through parody and commentary. Of course these tools can be abused, and bad actors should be stopped, but simply saying we must avoid likenesses in our work is a massive mistake. Imagine you're using MidJourney to create a character for a project, and 4 months later your client receives a cease and desist from an obscure actor that "kind of" looks like the generated character you made. If the genAI community runs from this issue, I think it could really stifle creativity in the future. I've spoken with a few art directors that work with large studios, and they're also nervous about using AI generated characters for this reason. I don't know the exact answer. I'm trying to navigate it like everyone else, but we shouldn't establish a precedent of self-censorship simply because it easier. It will bite us in the future. It's not the play. Anyways, just my take. What do you think?

Magnific AI's new tool for adding detail to images is definitely cool. Thanks @javilopen for giving me a sneak peak. It's much better than the built in upscaler on MJ. New model release, let's do some testing! 📽️🩺 Kling 1.6 Pro 🆚 Pika 2.2 (New!) 🆚 Hailuo I2V with prompt: The woman holding the gun is looking with an intense but scared expression. She can't decide if she's ready to shoot, she looks down but then back up again and shoots the gun 3 times. 👉Kling: Smooth, nuanced expressions & acting (my pick for subtlety). Oddly, no muzzle flash, censored? 👉Pika 2.2 (new!): Punchier, attempting more dynamic action, achieves muzzle flash, jumpy transitions & some morphing. 👉Hailuo: Only 720p and (6s), less coherent, but I love the full body acting when she lowers the gun. All struggle with hands, but Kling probably does it best. Thoughts?

Here's a short clip from my AI film test earlier this year, "Into Atlantis". It's pretty wild how fast the tech has moved since then with Pika, Runway and others. The img2video back then wasn't very good, so I used depth maps to simulate a 3d'ish picture. The pictures were generated with SD15 and required a lot of inpainting. 😅 #AIFilm #AIArt #AIArtCommuity

This is a game changer for AI filmmaking and what I’ve been preparing for over the past few months. Bringing predefined characters into locations and achieving different camera angles was one of the last big hurdles. For professional projects, there’s still a need for inpainting faces and LoRA training to avoid character ‘drift’ - but @runwayml references gets us more than 90% of the way there, sometimes 98-99% with good prompts. All that’s left is the next generation of acting-performance tools (lip-sync) and you’ll begin seeing theatrical releases. What a time to be a creator!

I'm very excited about CAST: Component-Aligned 3D Scene Reconstruction from an RGB Image. AI filmmakers often need multiple angles of an environment starting from a single image. There are some 'workarounds' right now, but tools like this could solve one of our biggest roadblocks: environment consistency. Code coming soon apparently. Link below.

I thought I'd share my Act 1 outline, and show how I'm organizing AI generations (#midjourneyartwork) with my narrative for @CuriousRefuge holiday film contest. I tried out a few storyboarding tools to help with #aicinema project, but the flexibility of a spreadsheet still seems like the best option. When I get to sound design, I'll likely add another column for SFX, but this format is really helping me evaluate the pacing and flow of the story. More to come soon! All the other story acts are completed with their AI generated artwork. I'm finishing up some of the writing for the dialogue before shifting over into #runwayml for animation and then lipsync. I'll be experimenting with wav2lip, and a few other options. We'll see how that goes!
