i don’t usually randomly reply to flame but how dumb/whiney are you. their $20/mo plan includes 500 premium requests. they’re giving it away for free to students cause they just raised funds so this is accounted for. they don’t gotta do jack btw. if you can spend more, do it. if you cannot, just know 500 premium requests are plenty. you get unlimited tab completions too. tl,dr; if your usage is really higher than $20 on cursor they it’s 20 dollars you get for free every month on cursor.

@wav0ai in action. 1. the DAW works. > needs more support for other audio formats. Exports are fast, you can even preview the clip visually before you export and get estimated size (think i missed that in the clip, added in the screenshot) 2. clip movement between tracks is extremely snappy and feels natural. automation points automatically transfer relative to their position in the clip. loop state follows as well. > needs more work on playback/visual sync and event cleanup when splitting/moving clips mid playback. 3. You should not even have to worry about the interface at all unless you want to. prompt and it will work. > AI SDK + WDK integration otw. watch out. and best part, aside from optional ai functionality and cloud/realtime persistence (also coming soon), it's all on the browser. some of you probably already know it's oss cause i won't shut up about it. but those of you new on my acc, check out github.com/fluid-tools/wav0, give it a star if you like it. fund if you're rich. expect more updates.

Automations + Exports working in @wav0ai This something that would take anyone without a fully installed DAW forever to do. And now it’s possible in seconds without any installs, right in the browser. ✦ Automations with zero extra setup. Easily move between tracks (plus it’s context-aware). ✦ Exports working insanely fast. ✦ Real-time Export Previews - easily visualize output, estimated size, etc based on your settings. Just added support for wav (ofc), flac, aac, ogg. More soon. Next up: tools, libraries, and a better agentic ui. What should I work on next? Thinking Sections, Markers, etc for loops makes sense (so you can export just the selected part without adding custom timestamps). Then I’ll share more on the Library UI. This is really the foundation of a new way to make music. And I’m doing it all in the open (oss). Keeping at it, I go dumb when I see the vision. Also, I'm going to use @capso for my screen recordings from now on. If someone wants to help me make a decent demo video, hmu.

oh also since upgrading to a turborepo setup, quickly made a new landing page too. didn’t push it yet.
what do we work on today @wav0ai? I’m thinking: 1. 〰️ Project Sections - Create sections, selections, and markers like you do in Logic Pro. 2.🤖 Automation Streamlining - Combine automations (clip fades, volume fades, panning) into a singular ui layer. 3. 🎹 MIDI Support + Quick Sampler - Create midi tracks for any sample. Adjust the sample as you want. 4.💥 Stress Testing - Currently max tracks in a project would be capped at 50. I’ll run an automated test to see how far this can be realistically stretched. 5. 🔊 And then ofc, exports!! (+ some level of audio monitoring to make sure exports aren’t fucked, ever)

because of high likelihood of the context getting poisoned in a 1m window? and something like /compact works similarly to keep only the relevant context within the window. Thus for most cases, delivering identical results. altho a 1m window w something like gpt-5 pro will definitely outperform a smaller window on an open-ended achievable prompt.

i feel it’d be better value/better use of github actions (at least on my vercel hobby tier projects) if i used a beefed up machine to build and create turbo cache right away so vercel can reuse it and i get faster builds? builds are already pretty fast but when i have a turbo task depending on builds of other internal packages, it’s hard to get it under 30 seconds overall.

with the mvp for @wavflip (agentic ai for music production) and the db foundations laid, switched to @PlanetScale. paying $25 just for a very-starter db doesn’t make sense when i get more db-centric features with planetscale for 14 extra notes: - for $25 supabase has other really good utilities at a slightly higher cap. - I won’t use any of the extra supabase stuff tho. cause aside from db, all other infra is better off in aws. i don’t wanna manage an rds either and planetscale would definitely still be a far more ergonomic choice. tl,dr; couple places you shouldn’t cheap out on for a good product dev (iteration, ux, feedback) workflow. good db, good deployment process (@vercel). p.s sharing the landing design too. rolling out and updating the app next week. dm/reply for early-access.

what’s the essential setup for a monorepo you’re about to open-source? There’s already a bunch of cursor rules I made. Thinking I should ask Cursor to use the rules and make a contribution + setup guide. Then slap some assets, clean up the readme, and make @wavflip open-source. been working on it for a bit. so many more use-cases it supports than I thought with the same setup. for a product like this, might need to write docs/blog showcasing examples with some additional ways to juice it.
