That staffing increase almost exactly matches the $1.5 billion deficit projected for 2030. Rolling back to 2012 staffing would close the gap.

WHAT’S ALREADY BEEN DECIDED
Both directions of the Great Highway south of Sloat are set to close due to coastal erosion. This has already been legislated. That means we will never again be able to use the Great Highway as a direct connection to Daly City and the 280. Traffic from Daly City will have to use Skyline and go around the zoo. Traffic from San Francisco will need to turn left at Sloat and continue south past Lake Merced.
WHAT’S PROPOSED FOR THE FUTURE
Without a direct connection to Daly City, we have to think about what is the best use of the section between Lincoln and Sloat. This is an opportunity to reimagine the space for the next century as an oceanside park. This includes improving traffic flow on Lincoln and Sunset Boulevard to get people where they need to go.
WHAT’S STAYING THE SAME
The Great Highway will remain open to cars 24/7 from the Richmond neighborhoods to Lincoln allowing full access to the Cliff House, Beach Chalet, soccer fields, the Ocean Beach parking lot, and anywhere in the Sunset from Lincoln.

The Whole Foods on 8th and Market opened in March of 2022 and closed just a year later. In my opinion, it was one of the biggest blows to San Francisco. A large business invested a lot in our city, and they couldn't survive.
Now, 18 months later, things haven't gotten better. The drug markets are very active and crime is rampant. Mid Market should be one of the greatest areas in San Francisco, but we let it be a containment zone for drugs and other illegal activity.
Mid Market cannot be allowed to fail.
If downtown is truly become a 24/7 neighborhood, people have to feel safe enough going out at night.

I just walked along Market from Franklin to 10th St. The area is really struggling, even compared to just a few months ago.
Most businesses have closed, condo developments have paused construction, there's little foot traffic.
Inside the (former) Twitter building, all the restaurants are shuttered. The Market (grocery store) is still open but most food vendors are gone and most shelves are empty.
I hope new companies take over the spaces vacated by Twitter, Uber, Block, etc and residential construction gets going again, but it's going to take many years for this area to turn around. 😢

This is bad for residents, tourists, businesses, everyone.

It’s not just San Francisco. San Jose is also seeing a pro growth shift thanks to Mayor @MattMahanSJ. I hope he runs for Governor of California. We need more common sense leadership.

The group that runs Outside Lands and other loved concert venues wants to invest $15M into the Castro Theater, which has been shut down for years.
But our Supervisors and NIMBY neighborhood groups are trying to exhort them to make concessions. This is corruption.
I'm just saying that local government shouldn't be in the business of extortion. That the Board of Supervisors has this level of dictatorial control over business is a sign of a totally dysfunctional and extractive system. ebar.com/story.php?324185
