ALT WE DESERVE BETTER: Today's momentous news confirms it: the Left will be a key player in our new era of multi-party politics. To win, it must unite. Labour’s first year in office has been a total disaster. Starmer promised change, then delivered nothing but cuts and snouts in the trough. Left unchecked, Labour will deliver us into the hands of Farage. There are millions of people crying out for an alternative An alternative to rip-off bills while corporate bosses laugh their way to the bank. To public services starved of funding while the super-rich get richer. To governments that support genocide while attacking our democratic freedoms. An alternative to a broken politics by a few, for a few. Last year, we helped secure the largest ever cohort of left-of-Labour MPs. Greens and Independents have gone from strength to strength in local government. Now we have the chance to go much further and make the Left a real force, one that can wrest the country off a dark path of decline.
ALT WE DESERVE BETTER But *everything now depends on unity* between the Green Party, Independents and the new left party, as the major forces for progressive change. United, we can win seats from Birmingham to Bristol, London to Liverpool; divided, we risk losing them. United, we can win mayoralties and councils; divided, we may fall short. *Unity is the key*. To that end, we will now focus our efforts on *securing an electoral alliance of the Left*. We will pull every available lever to ensure a pact is in place as soon as possible. We urge all those who believe in the unity of the left to support this campaign, and donate to help make it a reality.
