In 2021, Stephen Todd, 41, received a 2-year suspended sentence for violently attacking his girlfriend, Melissa Eastick, 35, & ordered to attend a "building better relationships" course to "reduce the risk of offending again".
Almost exactly 2 years later, "tiny, frail and vulnerable" mum Melissa, was found dead in Todd's flat with 123 facial and body bruises and cuts, fractured ribs, vertebrae, nose and jaw, cigarette burns to her torso, and a brain injury which would have left her unconscious for "some days" before her death.
Todd was still attending 'better relationships' course sessions as she lay dying.
He has been sentenced to life with a minimum of 21 years 4 months before he can apply for parole.
