The Security Council has renewed the mandate of the @UN Disengagement Observer Force (@UNDOF) until 31 December 2026. Since 1974, UNDOF has maintained the ceasefire between Israel and Syria and supervised the disengagement of forces in the Golan.

Since 1948, 1,095 @UN peacekeepers have lost their lives to malicious acts. On 23 June, the #UNSCR adopted a resolution to strengthen accountability for these crimes & help combat impunity. Every peacekeeper deserves protection. Every attack demands accountability. #InvestInPeace

UN Peacekeeping is one of the most effective tools to respond to conflict. But it is facing reductions in political support and resources. Peace does not happen by accident. It requires political will, investment and commitment. Now is the time to invest in peace, not war.
