In a world marked by conflict, the climate crisis, and growing inequalities, procurement is more than a process – it plays a crucial role in our response to growing needs of communities. Through transparent, efficient and sustainable procurement solutions, @UNOPS is scaling up impact for the people we serve. Our latest 'Purchase for Impact' report shows how UNOPS delivered tangible results for our partners and communities around the world. Take a look 👇
Procurement rarely gets much attention. Yet it can quietly shape whether hospitals are able to treat patients, whether children can learn safely & whether communities can recover after crises. The latest UNOPS Purchase for Impact report is a reminder that procurement is about more than buying things. It can be a catalyst for sustainable development 👇 bit.ly/4uRU0Lf

Amid deepening divisions, new and protracted conflicts are compelling millions of people to seek safety far from home. On #WorldRefugeeDay, we call for renewed solidarity and stronger support for all those forced to flee, and the countries and communities hosting them.

Honoured to host with African Union a special #AfricaDay event @UNCityCPH this week. It was a moment to celebrate Africa's rich cultural diversity, its leadership and resourcefulness, and courage and aspirations of its peoples. Through innovation, investment and solidarity, we can together build the resilient systems needed to advance dignity, equality, sustainable development and climate action. It's time for the global community to step up and support Africa.

Great discussion with my friend @hans_kluge. It was very important to hear his views on the Ebola outbreak and the great work of @WHO supporting African countries during this crisis.
Better health outcomes depend on stronger partnerships, smarter use of resources and a UN system that delivers as one. This guided my discussion with Jorge Moreira da Silva, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNOPS Executive Director. We discussed the UN80 initiative and how to make the UN system more coherent, efficient and focused on practical results for the people and countries we serve. Joint resource mobilization was another important topic, including how WHO and UNOPS can bring together health leadership and operational delivery to better support countries. We also spoke about healthy lifestyles, and how powerful it is when leaders practise what they promote. Jorge’s love of tennis and commitment to staying active serve as an excellent example. @UNOPS_Chief | @UNOPS | @UN | @antonioguterres | @WHO_Europe | @UNCityCPH

He leaves an incredible legacy, and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and unwavering determination. My heartfelt condolences go out to John's family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him. unepccc.org/in-memory-of-joh… @UNEP

When building a road, a hospital, or a school, we must ask not only how green it is, but whether it can withstand future climate shocks. @UNOPS_Chief spoke with @EFEnoticias on #LATAM's unique potential to lead the green & blue economies. But sustainability alone isn't enough. Resilient infrastructure is essential to protecting communities & unlocking opportunities in the face of future climate shocks.

Seeing first-hand how @UNOPS work changes lives and delivers tangible impact for the communities we serve is the most rewarding part of my job. Here in Tegucigalpa #Honduras, I visited Hospital Escuela, one of the main public hospitals. UNOPS is helping to improve primary and emergency healthcare services, in partnership with the Ministry of Health. Our work includes enhancing key infrastructure at the facility, and procuring equipment, with a strong focus on sustainability. Inspiring to meet partners and our UNOPS team to learn how such initiatives bring at scale healthcare to patients.
