Ma’am, just like your vile nonsense doesn’t tarnish all Hindus and Indians, a couple of Khalistanis don’t define Punjab, India or the Sikh community. A state that has body bags coming home with probably the highest frequency, including 3 in the last month - doesn’t need a sermon on nationalism. Your tweet is laced with baseless assumptions and your own sense of personal grandiose.
Sikh community must disassociate themselves from Khalistanis and more Sikhs must come out in the support of Akhand Bharat, the way I am boycotted by the Sikh community and how violently they protest against my films in Punjab because I spoke against Khalistani terrorists is not a good decision or sign from their end. Khalistani terrorism makes them look bad and it will ruin the credibility of entire community and their over all perception. In the past also Khalistanis have severely damaged the whole Sikh community, I request the entire Sikh community in the name of religion they must not get excited or instigated by Khalistani terrorists. Deep Sidhu is making an ass of himself. Bhindranwale was a terrorist and nothing changes that fact. Irreparable harm has been caused to the agitation by the Khalistani drivel.
Set off to interview Deep Sidhu, Punjab actor with great expectations after seeing him in viral video negotiating at the barricades. Ended up in a massive fight. I believe his words have really hurt the Farmers Cause. Full conversation on @themojo_in here: piped.video/watch?v=yBIH_R5j…

Why were you laughing when such deplorable comments were made? Turning everything into a conspiracy against our civilisation isn’t a defence a man of science should make.
I have seen my name trending on Twitter where people have dragged me into this unfortunate incident where two MPs were using unparliamentary language against each other on the floor of the House. Our senior and respected leader Shri @rajnathsingh ji has already condemned the usage of such unpardonable language by both sides. I ask my Muslim friends who are writing against me on social media today, whether they actually believe that I could ever have become party to usage of such derogatory language that would hurt the sensibilities of any one community ? It is a notorious and fabricated story filled with negativity and is being used by some vested political elements on social media to tarnish my image. In thirty years of public life, I have worked closely with lakhs of Muslim brothers and sisters in my constituency as well as with colleagues from various walks of life. Born and brought up in Phatak Teliyan in the historic gullys of Chandni Chowk, I have spent my childhood and grown up playing with my Muslim friends. I can state with utmost confidence and conviction that all Muslim brothers and sisters who have ever been in contact with me will vouch for my sentiments and behavior. I was overjoyed to have won as a Member of Parliament from the prestigious constituency of Chandni Chowk and this could never have happened if all communities had not supported me. I feel sad and humiliated that some people with vested interest have dragged my name into this. While I was no doubt witness to the jugglery of words being thrown at each other (which in fact the entire House was), the truth of the matter is that in the chaos that existed, I could not clearly hear what was being said. I have always stood by my own principles in life. And I have never been apologetic about following them, keeping the interest of my country and its people above everything else.

Unequivocally condemn the cowardly attacks by Khalistan supporters on Hindus in Canada. The writing was on the wall for anyone who supports good terrorism or good extremism, because there is no good terrorism or extremism - it’s an oxymoron. That PM Trudeau and his lot can’t even name the perpetrators, in the face of evidence - tells you just how fractured their domestic politics have become. Separatism and terrorism are bright red lines for any self respecting nation. Not all of us are okay playing fast and loose with terrorism, and forgetting the sacrifices of our citizens and security forces in the face of terror. Let this relationship with Canada deteriorate and let us expel their entire lot, till we can agree that supporting terrorism is not okay. Not today, not ever.
Have said this before - India will let its relationship with Canada disintegrate if it has to. India's red lines about separatism are serious and non-partisan. It is up to Canada on how it plans to take this relationship forward, or let it wither away.

This is not an insult to the Army and every time a system or process is challenged, can’t use the Army’s credentials as a shield. Regiments have caste composition and that composition is skewed, that’s a point that needs redressal in a democracy. This point is not an attack on the contributions of our soldiers, or their bravery - but the reality of how citizens are disenfranchised. The lazy response that troops fight better with their own kith and kin is just that - lazy, not scientific and belies logic.
Please leave the Army out of Politics. Army does not recognise castes. Indian Army is the last bastion in the country & the first responder in any emergency situation - be it disasters, human relief, law and order, terrorism, and more. Let it remain professional. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Something I said a while back in an OpEd “The right to protest against the State is fundamental in a democracy, as fundamental as the right to disagree with those protesting to begin with. Except, now we have the added burden of proving our patriotism before we disagree with any decision of the democratically-elected Government of India; mind you, not to the government but those who in their support for the government become more loyal than the king. The clarion call to term those who disagree with the government as ‘anti-national’, ‘urban naxals’, members of an amorphous and fabled ‘Tukde Tukde Gang’ or whatever the latest flavour of the day is — including ‘sending them to Pakistan’ from geographically remote parts of India or demands of stripping them of their citizenship (apart from the logical fallacy that even a convicted felon is an Indian) — is the biggest disservice one citizen can do to another. That we do so belligerently, as a matter of regular discourse and without remorse is nothing to be proud of.”

At least saying no to hate, violence and terrorism perpetrators is a justifiable act in national interest. I am a free speech absolutist, but I would encourage you Ma’am to also do deeper stories on the actual perfection claimed and how false narratives are weaponised to seek asylum / immigration; and how western countries have bent every member of the rule of law in the interest of sovereignty when it comes to tackling terrorism. So what’s preventing his arrest, if that’s the case ? Why did the Punjab Police capitulate at Ajnala ? Why did the state bend to his will and illegal demands ?

The credibility of our constitutional courts is at stake. The selective interventions in personal liberty matters and abject abdication in others, is nothing more than monkey balancing. Bail is a right period and our lower judiciary needs to be reminded of this. Denying liberty on whim isn’t the way of a democracy or aspiring super power.
Breaking: Supreme Court steps in to grant activist @TeestaSetalvad interim bail for 7 days after a special late night 3 judge sitting. Gujarat high court had asked her to surrender ‘immediately’. Teesta had already been arrested last year in same case. SC says Teesta entitled to ‘special protection’ as a woman, says HC should have given her time to appeal. Gujarat HC under scanner again. Why did you have to be sexist, patriarchal and a misogynist all rolled into one - for your critique ? You could have critiqued the PM and the BJP govt. on metrics and empirical data - of which ample exists; but this is just cheap.

The content and laughable rebuttal apart, I am sure you guys can get proper letterheads where the text is aligned and you don’t need to strike out an email address. For someone who’s job it is to project India in better light, this is quite sloppy.

A sub par judge who forgot her oath to the constitution and brought shame ( if that were possible) to the Supreme Court’s (already abysmal) track record on personal liberty. A judge that abdicates their role on habeas corpus, deserves no better and should be relegated in history at par with the motley crew of ADM Jabalpur fame.

Disappointing to see the Delhi Government declare itself to be a post office that procedurally gives sanction for prosecute when its standing counsel gives a “negative opinion”.

Sir, calling someone a jihadist because he’s a Muslim is not personal choice - it’s being a communal bigot.
Since when did personal choice become bigotry. Did @Abhishek_Mshra call on anyone to do the same. Intolerance anyone?

Well said Major.
What Pak is doing in Kashmir is hybrid warfare. It is making attempts to take advantage of our political & social fault lines. If we fight amongst ourselves, Pak will win. And somewhere at GHQ Rawalpindi, a General will be smiling. Be strong. Be united. Be Indian. #Pulwama

It would also be appropriate for the DGCA to conduct an inquiry into other such instances and apply the same yardstick. Video doing the rounds of a Tejashwi Yadav interview ought to be investigated as well.
Arnab is no angel, nor is he a journalist. But to stand up to Arnab, don’t become him. Kunal’s conduct was harassment, plain and simple - no qualifications; even if it was emulating to some degree what Arnab and his channel do for a living. Neither is correct.

Because amorphous terms like this are coined for convenience. Terms such “tukde tukde gang”, “anti national”, are all utter nonsense, and defile democratic discourse. What a fall from grace Dr Jaishankar.

It doesn’t matter whether you like or dislike Arnab;and neither should that matter for the law. Lack of due process, abuse of process or manhandling a citizen by the police is not something to be selective about, nor championing the prosecution of offences that are colonial relics

Amritpal has been propped up is an undeniable fact, that there’s a sense of paralysis in policy and strategy to address this dangerous situation is equally undeniable. We must not be complacent. Action must be taken and taken swiftly. This must not fester.
Where someone can be pulled off a plane and arrested for an innocuous comment, surely action can be taken against Amritpal. The capitulation by the Amritsar Police was shameful and allowing this charlatan to become a law into himself is dangerous. The precedent is well established

Going by reports, time to repeat this first line and for the same person to derail an agitation twice is quite a remarkable feat.
Deep Sidhu is making an ass of himself. Bhindranwale was a terrorist and nothing changes that fact. Irreparable harm has been caused to the agitation by the Khalistani drivel.

Firstly that’s not the essence of the movie, secondly the Indian Army does not condone human rights violations and the closing credits of Shaurya will show you how seriously the Indian Army acts against it’s own when they violate the Constitution of India (which is something we as a nation must be proud of). Thirdly, I don’t agree with those asking for de-escalation; but it’s their right as a citizen of India to freely express their opinion - because that’s what sets us apart from the failed state that Pakistan is. We are a constitutional democracy, united in national resolve with divergent voices - which is our greatest strength. That’s that and the rest is jingoism.

Neither is promoting, harbouring and sheltering terrorism as an instrument of state polity worth celebrating Ma’am.
War and conflict is not something to be celebrated. Punishment for an allegation that was never proved is not something to be celebrated. Violating airspace is not something to be celebrated. Escalation is not something to be celebrated.
