We have a couple big ideas with community-driven fundamentals.
The goal was never to create an NFT project. The goal was and will always be to create open source tooling to make NFTs more engaging and fun.
Some options for ‘byo_mint’ tokens…
- Recreate trait combo = burn existing trait combo, claim unused trait combo
- Create custom background’s = enable ‘byom’ cNFTs update bg image
- Trait replacements = enable traits to be overridden by a new variant of the same layer

What broke?
Well, nothing! @heliuslabs webhooks were triggered after every mint and the image + json files were uploaded successfully to @GenesysGo SHDW drive.
So why can't I see my image?

Gm gm, still working through the issues with DAS. It seems that the more sentients that are minted the more experience the issue with metadata not being indexed.
Selfishly, I think it’s pretty cool that this mint has more or less broken the DAS standards of the ecosystem :)

Enable Sentients to change their attributes by burning the current trait combo PDA and creating a new one.
Only unused combinations can be claimed, the original combination is back up for grabs.

Working theory: It takes about ~3 seconds to create the image + json file and upload them to SHDW. The DAS attempts to index before that process is complete so the opportunity to index is missed.
Is it fixed now?
Yes, I worked with big brain @nick_pennie to re-index the cNFTs

Development of BG Color changer is complete. Any holder of a sentient will be able to change the background color of the owned sentient.
We are waiting to deploy this feature until the DAS is updated to reindex metadata manually as the changes will not propagate consistently

Another update, people who used @solflare_wallet to mint seem to be “missing” the cNFT in their wallet. It is there but does not show up. Going to try to get a hold of the Solflare team to do some debugging.

4) Creating the metadata after minting takes about 1 minute to propagate to your wallet, so don't panic. If it's taking longer than that, DM this account with your wallet address

Due to the nature of cNFT metadata being stored off-chain, the DAS api needs to index that metadata and store it in a database.
Since the JSON + image links are not populated at the instant of the mint, the DAS attempts to index data that is not there.

The wallet that minted the cNFT is declared a verified creator with 2.5% royalties. If the cNFT is sold on a marketplace, 2.5% of the cost goes to the wallet that minted the cNFT

It’s not so much trait swapping but total reassigning of attributes. You could change one trait or change all of them.
