Just analyzed the @semrush 2024 Ranking Factors Study:
1. It's still good to be the King: URL ranked #1 has an average CTR of 27.6%. The page in #10? Only 2.6%!
2. Content relevance remains critical. Create content that deeply addresses topics and user intent, beyond surface-level keywords. 📉Note the steep dropoff from the 6th to 20th position in the graph.
3. Exact Match Keywords in titles are less impactful than you might think. Focus on semantic context and relevance.
4. Time to reassess? The role of traditional on-page elements is evolving. What's their real impact on SERP now? Past studies showed much stronger performance for lists, tables, etc.
5. The core strategy: Dive into user intent and thoroughly cover your topics.
6. Warning: If you don't nail how you perform in the Crawl, Render, and Index phases, none of the above will matter. Fixing technical SEO issues allows you to focus on content/intent wins.
