The story behind EdgeFold 🪡🧵
Please repost 🔁
For my latest work, EdgeFold, I wanted to create something that felt structured yet alive. A system that could hold rhythm, contrast, and quiet complexity through code.
I started this project with a simple question:
Can a system be expressive?
Can it carry emotion, hold tension, and surprise you each time you return to it?
That’s what drew me to Bauhaus weaving. I spent months immersed in its forms, color systems, and materials, trying to understand how those works managed to say so much through geometry alone. Each woven block held a presence. Some were intricate and tightly packed, others bold and open. Side by side, they created a harmony where no two parts felt the same, yet everything still belonged.
What stood out to me most was the balance between control and freedom. Geometry was used to express. Squares filled with stripes, triangles beside checkerboards, bold palettes placed next to soft neutrals. These elements repeated across the textiles, but always with variation. The work never felt mechanical. It felt intentional and full of movement.
That was the energy I wanted to capture in EdgeFold. I built a generative system where no two outputs would be the same, but every piece would still feel connected. The shapes, layout, and textures were all tuned with care. Each color palette was carefully hand-picked.
One of my biggest goals with this collection was to create depth, specifically experiential depth. I spent hours refining the algorithm so that every piece would hold more than what first meets the eye. I wanted these works to feel alive with detail. To have layers that only unfold when you slow down and really look. A shift in structure, a tension in the spacing, a quiet color echo you missed the first time. The kind of complexity that makes you want to come back, again and again, and still find something new.
This project was about understanding rhythm, texture, and emotional pacing inside a system. I wanted to explore how structure can hold feeling, and how repetition can create flow. I took my time with this project and paid close attention to every detail. I hope that care shows in the work, and that looking at it slowly feels as special as it felt to create.
Thank you for reading and spending time with it 🧡
