"Sam's Coin." People lost everything. Startups, market makers, retail users... billions seemingly erased overnight, many of them in the Solana ecosystem. 8 months later.... Fire Dancer is closer than ever, assuring validator update hiccups that have caused chain outages will become a thing of the past and increasing the already industry leading TPS to new heights, full-time developers on the network are nearly equal to this same period last year and, just this week, for the first time ever Solana saw more NFT volume in a 24 hour window than Ethereum.... Magic Eden Is Getting More Decentralized The market is a mess, but these are the times when it is worthwhile to double-down and build something meant to last. With the support of the rest of the @MagicEden team, we are going to build new systems that allow the community to have greater input and self-determination. So, what is the plan? In the short term: 1. Build the community activation layer with an emphasis on our new @MagicEdenComm Familia 2. Begin our first 5 working groups simultaneously 3. Reward more 1. Familia are going to be the lifeblood of the ME community. They will be a self-governing enthusiast group with financial and philosophical support from the team to lead their own initiatives in service of the community. Familia will have their own unique opportunities and experiences, as well as lore and story. For a limited period of time, Familia members are selected by the community team at ME, but in the future they will have their own governance systems to accept and remove members. 2. We have already started 5 trial groups. At the end of the duration of their trials, they will build proposals for full-fledged working groups. These groups are currently focused on regional development and all things ME content. Regional development builds deep community relationships and represents Magic Eden in a way I cannot. I am not a polyglot or plugged into all the world's cultures and differences of product expectations. We have great regional community members that are stepping up to spread the word beginning in Vietnam, China, Turkey and South Korea. Maybe be on the lookout for our first community-run event at Solana Crossroads 👀 3. We want to have more ways for community members to be rewarded for their contributions. 👀 The most notorious bot user on Solana: @naseem 👀 His wins are legendary among anyone who is trading SPL’s. I was curious to learn a bit more about him and he was kind enough to answer a few of my questions. Some good insight, advice and back story! 1. What did you do primarily before getting into web3? I'm relatively quite young in comparison to other people in web3, so I didn't do anything before getting in crypto. Web3 is pretty much the first thing I’ve ever made money from. 2. When you started in web3, what got you interested? I was interested by all the massive profits I'd see on social media and I thought to myself; if these people could do it then so can I, so that's pretty much what enticed me. 3. What was your first experience using bots? My first experience using a bot was using some random NFT bot that I had found on magiceden back when I had first started NFT's to try mint hyped projects and I didn't really have much success with it initially, but I didn’t let that deter me from learning how to get better at it. 4. Your Solana bot is notorious now. Without revealing any secrets, how are you so successful? Did you build it yourself? Do you think there’s a lack of skilled bot users on Solana as compared to other ecosystems that gives you an edge? I didn't build any of the bots I use, everything I use can be purchased via secondary marketplaces. I'd say my success mainly comes down to my alpha and being able to enter conviction plays with size. I also do think there is a lack of skilled bot users on Solana too as it isn't really as profitable as ETH, so it makes no sense for people who do have the skillset to bot successfully to come to this chain yet. 5. What’s your bot thesis? It seems you’re usually very early and take wins quickly rather than holding too long. My thesis varies. For coins, I know most of them will go to 0 even if I decide to hold so I just get out as fast as possible, lock in my gains, and look for the next opportunity. For NFT's I don't mind holding projects if I can see a clear vision behind them or if I think there's pump potential, for example I minted 23 Okay Bears during their public mint and sold each one for an average sale price of 100 SOL, netting me over $200k from that mint alone. 6. What’s the secret sauce in identifying good tokens? Do you ape into them all or select ones? Coins on SOL are very different compared to ETH, everyone will know what coin will do well on SOL since they launch very infrequently so it’s pretty easy to tell which ones I should ape into. 7. For anyone interested in using bots with the rise of one’s like Unibot, what’s some beginners advice you’d give? I don’t really know what advice to give, if anything I’d suggest making yourself familiar with the bot with capital you don’t care about before using it to go into actual plays, botting isn’t as easy as it looks and it can result in big losses, people don’t flex their losses so it’s pretty common to think that botting is guaranteed money. 8. How do you feel about being so well known on Solana? Do you feel the sentiment is more positive or negative? Has it changed over time? I don’t really care about the fact that I’m well-known on Solana. As for sentiment it varies, some people have positive sentiment and respect what I do whereas others have the complete opposite view

How I went from a trader with 3 Solana in 2021 to Head of Community for @MagicEden in 2025 and some takeaways. First, I should caveat that I have a degree in PR and a decent web2 background. That said, I think a lot of market participants could use this plan to build their own web3 career. At my last “normal” job, I was in pharma sales. I covered half of the state of Oregon and parts of Northern California. In my free time, I was trading and talking in various free alpha discord servers. I had no paid FNF or NFT home. Just being active, I got connected to a guy who would go on to launch Komodo Dragonz, an OG Boryoku deriv. By now I was curious to know more about communities and how these collections worked behind the scenes, and I offered to be a moderator. I got paid only a couple of $SOL for my time being active in chats and guiding vibes. A seemingly small amount compared to my income as the number 1 sales guy in the nation at my pharma company. But, it taught me a TON! - What are trappings founders fall into - What are some realistic and unrealistic expectations communities have - What actually pushed the needle The collection inevitably got destroyed when the founder trusted prolific OG Solana scammer Jabur to launch their breeding ponzi coin, and when the project had no money as a result, the holders voted to turn it over to some boomer YouTuber with 250k subs that promised the world and delivered some dirt. Around this time, I found @YakuCorp. It had very little visibility, but I loved the concept. I started giving the founder some marketing tips initially just to be friendly and get some whitelists for the boys. Our conversations got longer and more in depth until I was eventually asked to join as head of marketing. It could be part time, and it could make an impact. I would get paid nothing up front, but I could earn off the success of our mints. I worked for nearly 4 months for free, growing our X from 500 to 50,000 and our Discord to over 25,000. Real trench work. We went on to have three mints, the first of which was slated for @MagicEden Launchpad the day after Balloonsville kek, that generated over $2 million. I left my pharma job and went full time web3 after, in June of 2022. While at Yaku, I started hosting a weekly Spaces called Yakuesday where any guest could join for free. @cryptoape had a lot of clients looking for media opportunities at @multichain. We started appearing on each others’ shows frequently and he became one of my best friends. When I ended up leaving Yaku, @cryptoape offered me a position immediately. He even let me work on a short term contract initially while waiting to hear back about a potential role at @solana. At @multichain I got to work with great clients like @PythNetwork, @wormhole, @ZeusNetworkHQ and more recently @MMTFinance. This was still trench work. Inordinate hours on huge TGE’s and product rollouts. But, it was not starting from zero. When I looked to take on my current roll, I could show: - I know community from bottom up - I could build a community and brand from scratch - I could work on major, existing brands - I could drive strategy but also get into the tactical weeds I also had a multi-year rapport with many of my would-be team members. What can you take away from this? 1. Don’t underestimate the value of experience. If you can afford to get some for free or very little, do it. Get that first web3 resume addition. 2. Network like hell. All of these opportunities came from or were made easier by existing relationships and professional context. 3. This is startup world. You might have a role like “moderator” or “intern” but you will wear many other hats if you’re capable and have a compelling story to tell of your experience. Less planning and more doing. You got this!

5 years ago: 250 pounds, can’t even bench press 60% of my body weight or run a quarter mile continuously. 18 months ago: 188 pounds, 6 months sober, only working, going to the gym and hiking. Today: 225 pounds, strongest I’ve ever been, not in a constant calorie deficit, traveling full time and enjoying life but still looking and feeling good. This industry is also innately tied to our DNA. NFT’s give you the fun of collecting and community involvement. Lucky Buy added a layer of speculative entertainment on top of that collector experience. Packs have diversified this entertainment layer and allowed us to expand into whole new verticals like RWA’s meaningfully. Our new endeavors will get us deeper into this push in innovative ways. New products to attract new users. Buybacks to add excitement into our legacy product. A single token at the center of it all with a new life.
