28th Sec'y of the Senate, ex-US House Chief of Staff, & recovering ex-corporate food lobbyist. Substack writer. Veteran of House & Senate GOP campaigns.
SCOTUS, as I kind of expected, ruled on a technicality (standing) not on the merits. The Parnell/Kelly PA challenge remains on the docket. Other states, especially WI and GA, have suits that remain in play. We’re maybe in the 7th inning.
The more we learn about what happened during and after January 6th, the more it all stinks to high heaven. I hope @RepLoudermilk follows up accordingly.
That's never been tried or done. It is bonkers, as is the Gaetz nomination. The FBI file will be interesting. The guy has 25 months of experience as a young lawyer.
This is an amazing thing to behold, seeing liberals canceled just like they demand conservatives who offend them be canceled. Your party, your rules, my friends.
I hate the complete lie of Palestinian “genocide.” Hamas uses children and families to protect their rockets and terrorists. Israelis bend over backwards, often at their own expense (lives of soldiers) to protect all life. That is simply a fact. Any claims of Palenstinian genocide is false, if not evil propaganda.
This is 150 days some organization or another has "declared" to honor unnatural, perverted behaviors. Christians get two days on the calendar - Easter Sunday and Christmas.
Second, PA does a terrible job of maintaining its voter roles and verifying absentee ballot applications. This opens the door for all sorts of mischief. 2/
Sigh. Erick, it's obvious. The 10-14 percent of "persuadable" voters sought a reason to vote "for" her. Her strategy was to focus on reasons to vote against Trump. That fails with moderates. She gave no assurance she was up for the job.
@Athan_K, terrific thread. Couple of things. First, Act 77 allowed counting of absentees to be moved from precincts to a single, hard-to-monitor center in heavily Democratic Chester, PA, when Ds took over Delco in 2018. 1/
I don't know how often this has to be said, but the answer to "bad speech" or even objectionable speech is not censorship but more speech. Never in history or literature have the censors been the "good guys."
Here you go, @bethanyshondark. This is a lot of work to collect and have "ready to go," but this, along with a "go bag" of personal items, is a big takeaway from the crisis of incompetence in CA.
It's also when self-employed and small business couples who earned too much to qualify for subsidies paid out $33,000 for premiums and deductibles before the first dollar of Obamacare coverage.
You're wrong. People should live under the rules they establish. Not because we prefer or celebrate it. Because it is justice. It's the only way to eliminate injustice. Mercy follows.
Pacific Palasides, the beautiful sea-side community most devastated by the fires, are no stranger to them. There were similar fires in 1938 and 1961, more proof that climate change has nothing to do with them. Californians up and down the coast have long understood the risks.
Biden's pardons of Pelosi's illegitimate J6 Select Committee have limits - they won't apply to violating House rules, including the documented destruction of records. Chair Bennie Thompson is subject to censure and expulsion. cha.house.gov/_cache/files/6…
They claim the tax on "unrealized gains" will only effect people making $100 million, the same people who lie about how they haven't or will raised taxes on anyone making under $400,000. And they sure won't refund you if those gains turn into losses.
@BretBaier's strategy, as he told @HughHewitt, was to be tough but fair, and to extract new information about @KamalaHarris. Not sure he succeeded on the last point, thanks to her filibuster of non-answers, but he did his job well, unlike anyone at @CBS, @ABC, @NBC, or @CNN.
You are a terrible US Senator and a worse human being for celebrating the Biden pardon of a cop killer. May you rot in hell, @SenTinaSmith. You are a bad person.
Here's a full transcript of President Bukele's superb speech. While the USA hasn't descended as far as El Salvador did, we're on our way, and this is a fine road map for the way back to the American Promise. americanrhetoric.com/speeche…
Hunter Biden, who lived at Joe's Delaware estate while classified documents were in the messy garage, also had unfettered access. Biden's "clients" included Chinese Communists and Russians connected to Putin.
As a Virginia resident and voter, I apologize to America for the behavior of my worthless junior US Senator, Tim Kaine today, who has never served a day in the military.
When @SenMullin (R-OK) mentioned unnamed Senators showing up drunk to vote, note that he directed his comment at Kaine. Draw your own conclusion.
Hi, @votetimscott. You might want to remind your colleague Bob Casey that the Senate is the final arbiter of Senate elections, and you wouldn't look kindly on corrupted certifications.
I’ve never served, but my son is his VA ANG brigade’s XO. Neither he nor ANY NCO in his battalion or 116th infantry
regiment would speak of their enlistees that way. #AWALZ#CowardGate
STRONGLY opposed to this. Government-mandated coverage will spread the costs so we ALL pay more, whether we use the benefit or not. I'm all for more babies, but this is not the way. This smells like Obamacare on steroids.
Just a prediction, but I strongly suspect about 5-6 SCOTUS justices are going to have some real fun with this. This is judicial malfeasance on steroids. SCOTUS will not take well to PA's Supreme Court ignoring its own Constitution under a rarely used technicality.
If @Wheaton can't handle even this modest level of religious persecution from The Left™, how quickly will they fold and bend the knee when real persecution comes?
@JDVance is clearly the kind of guy I'd love to knock back a few beer with while watching college football. That @GovTimWalz guy is just too weird and creepy.
This discussion misses the point. The point is that our institutions of higher education have become hellholes of indoctrination, badly preparing young people for the real world. We need colleges that teach critical thinking skills. And we need trade schools. Both can be true.
The federal government got involved in the late 1970’s in establishing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, just as nutrition education began its decline in our schools and medical schools.
In this order, given the level of corruption and partisanship that needs to be fumigated, starting with law enforcement and intelligence agencies:
1. Pam Bondi
2. Kash Patel
3. John Ratcliffe
4. Marco Rubio
5. Pete Hegseth
6. Tulsi Gabbard
7. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
@JoshShapiroPA's carefully crafted "brand" is crashing into the reality of his Democratic Party. He may soon discover why political graveyards are full of the careers of VPs and VP wannabes.
When your party’s view of workers and their families can be summed up as “the beatings will continue until morale improves,” yes, I very much envisioned and welcome their move to the GOP.
And here is an interesting Atlantic piece about Dr. Walter Hern, a Boulder, CO abortionist who specializes in late-term abortions. Business is up, he says. theatlantic.com/politics/arc…
Former newspaper editor and reporter here: Your statement is not credible. This story should never have taken “months.” It’s funny how fast reporters can act when they want to. And that’s the real issue - you and your editors slow-walked this story.
This is total bullshit. The key is to be prepared to nip the problem in the bud when it hits. Having dry reservoirs, non-functioning fire hydrants, a reduced firefighting force, and decision-makers on vanity junkets to Africa is a problem.
Third, you are absolutely correct that PA Republicans - which need to totally replace their leadership, top to bottom, need to follow the lead of CA Republicans and beat Democrats at their own game. It can be done, but it requires a functioning party apparatus which doesn’t exist
That is 8,000 cases of child abuse. It is immoral to force vaccines on young children that don't really work to supposedly "protect" older people from infection.
That's why this interview was a complete failure for her. About 14% of Americans are "persuadable." They don't need reasons to be against Trump; they're looking for reasons to be FOR her. She can't deliver that message. Kudos to Bret.
