Okay even in college, Verlander was the #2 overall pick in the draft, Heinicke went undrafted. Verlander has an enormous list of accolades in college such as being a finalist for the Roger Clemens award as well as a silver medal and holds the record for career strikeouts in ODU..

A “flat plane swing” will produce more balls in play…BUT it will not produce any more barrels than a swing with a higher vertical bat angle. You will probably be less productive with a flatter swing plane. Flatter the plane, more balls put in play that are mis hits. Higher VBA..
