the infrastructure to start a startup in 2023 is mindblowingly good. this was literally an 8 day process:
1. incorporate with @atlas. formation docs, co-founder equity, Stripe even mails your 83B to the government for you
2. register a virtual mailing address with @useStable for company filings. no need to use personal addresses and will never need to change our mailing address
3. set up @mercury and immediately have bank/credit cards, then it’s 3 clicks in @mercury to issue SAFEs to the homies and accept wires

Who can be a registered agent?
RAs can be an individual like a company officer, employee, or affiliate (lawyer, CPA), or they can be a third party business like a specialized RA service company. All registered agents are required to have a physical address within the state.

Since a company could register in a state outside of the one that you are physically living in, your business needs to have a designated “resident” that the state can contact in case of any compliance or other legal issues.
