This is absolutely objectively true. Due to finances and the absolute brutal market trying to find a design job, early September this year I was a decision away from ending my life but I chose not to, instead rather radically changing course and trying one last time, even if it was incredibly humiliating to ask for help.
I then moved in with my family for a couple of months, got a job part time at a hardware store, found a new place to move into, and dedicated my free time to building my personal brand here on X in the meantime as applying for "normal" jobs on LinkedIn, TradeMe, Seek, and even with my personal network here in Wellington seems to not work anymore.
Between the moment I decided against that choice and today, I have been followed and supported by gigantic industry titans, insanely talented builders, digitally rubbing shoulders here on X with literal millionaires and billionaires in essentially every tech vertical, and inspiring leaders that I will be forever grateful for their support.
So yeah, this timeline wouldn't have unfolded without my decision to bend the world, as Altman says
We all have the ability we just need to execute, and quickly.
Sam Altman: "A big secret is that you can bend the world to your will a surprising percentage of the timeโmost people donโt even try, and just accept that things are the way that they are.
People have an enormous capacity to make things happen. A combination of self-doubt, giving up too early, and not pushing hard enough prevents most people from ever reaching anywhere near their potential."
