🚨To anyone interested in the results of the Strawberry Shake Challenge, which was basically an experiment to see what happens if a challenge is sent out where no one is tagged:
🧮A decent amount of impressions, with only 9% engagement and 6 participants. So it is clear that tagging works.
🫂Maybe because it "feels" more personal, like "Hey, this person really wants to see my take on the subject." I'm sure it triggers something in our social media/art brains.
⁉️I guess the issue I've had is that if I follow you, I want to see your art, but I cant possibly tag everyone. Then I'm sitting here going "Well who do I tag?" I don't want people to feel like I'm leaving them out. I don't want to tag only my closest connections, I want to reach out to my newest followers as well.
🧪So far what seems to have worked best and get the most reach is tagging a mix of older and newer followers.
🧠I think I am going to find a way to randomly generate lists of maybe 25-30ish artists for my engagement challenges.
🖐️For the record however, please no one ever feel left out or ignored. If you are reading this, I want to see your art, hear your stories, feel your pain, watch you grow, taste your passion, face your fears, and count your fingers.
