I was skeptical that Trump demolishing part of the White House to build a ballroom would be of interest to anyone outside of like Rachel Maddow viewers, but a very conservative NJ Republican told me this week it’s come up when he talks to independent voters. They hate it.
It’s actually so funny, and so grim, that it seems like the east wing/ballroom stuff really did it lmao

Insane story. Woman spent 10 days in Essex County jail because no one would check her fingerprints to make sure they had arrested the right person (they hadn’t). And no one will be punished because of qualified immunity.

“The fastest AM travel time was Friday at 7:30am, taking just 37 minutes to travel from Summit to NYC” Our governor is spending almost all his time — and a lot of our money — trying to stop this.
Congestion pricing update: As we continue to track travel times, we will keep you informed. Please note, these are travel times for cars. Our buses save even more time with bus lanes at the Lincoln Tunnel and throughout Manhattan. From Summit to NYC last week, excluding Martin Luther King Day, morning commutes were down 8.5 minutes and evening commutes were down 10 minutes, on average. The fastest AM travel time was Friday at 7:30am, taking just 37 minutes to travel from Summit to NYC, which is 24 minutes faster than the average. For the evening commute to Summit, 4:45pm on Tuesday was down 21 minutes from the average, taking just 53 minutes to get home from Bryant Park. Check back next week for more commuter news!

NEW: Bob Menendez might have found a way to keep leverage over Dems with his independent senate campaign. New Jersey sources tell me they think he will ultimately demand some type of support from the party (legal fees, etc.) in exchange for getting out of the race. National Democrats tell me they aren’t worried about how Menendez factors into general election. axios.com/2024/06/11/bob-men…
