It’s impossible to understand this mindset. You are a successful person with a decent amount of money, but you specifically think people with just a bit more money than you deserve to be killed in the street. You soyface over a product that you like made by a corporate that wanted to make money, but if they remain profit motivated you think that executives at that company should be executed, many of which more than likely have far less money that your own 20 million dollar or so net work. Just utterly and completely retarded down to the atomic level.

Steel man is that prostitution very likely materially reduces family formation. An entity like the government or society at large gets a lot of value from families producing new citizens and raising them well to be productive. Banning prostitution makes sense then.

Do you have any idea how many 85k people actually is? Companies have been laying off 10s of thousands of employees continually now for the last few years. We have absolutely no need for more of these types of workers. It should be illegal to hire or have any h1bs on staff if you have laid off a single employee in the last 5 years and should you have to lay off every single h1b before a single citizen, sound fair?

The zones of thought series of books by Vernor Vinge have a very interesting take on this. Basically there are zones in the universe, some of which are bound by the speed of light. The worlds within those zones are basically prisoners and can almost never hope to escape, but those that are outside of those zones can participate in inter galactic trade and society. Super interesting concept.

Something technical is going to be better than something not. But probably the most important advice is he should not be a shut-in in his dorm playing video games the entire time. Spend as much time building relationships and being part of various groups, be as social as possible. It’s really the time to build a network that will add value to your life over time, so the more connections you make the more likely there are opportunities. (Obviously he shouldn’t go so far and become a party animal drunk druggie) But there just really is so much opportunities in college to have so many experiences that will be very difficult to replicate later in life.
