The watermelon comes from way back in 1967; the Israeli gov made showing support of Palestine with the flag illegal. In protest, people cut open a watermelon, which has the colours of the Palestinian flag 🍉 🇵🇸 ❤️

Ryuji is a fascinating example of cultural differences influencing character treatment. He scores the lowest in Japanese popularity polls, but is one of the most loved and celebrated party members in the West. I can't help but think about it whenever he's the butt of most jokes.
