This can only happen in the US! Former Obama admin. national security official Stuart Seldowitz arrested yesterday for hate crime against Egyptian street vendor. Upon finding, New Yorkers rushed to support and buy food from his ‘Halal Cart’. Also, the woman who threw coffee and a phone at a brown man and his child in my neighborhood has been arrested for a hate crime. Desi aunties organized a full-scale operation to find her, from posting posters around the park to stalking her in the grocery store and whatnot. 🙈 Love this city, its people, its crazy subway. So proud of you New York!!🫶🏼

This is so tragic and horrific to witness. A father is kissing, hugging, and saying goodbye to his baby girl, her body wrapped in plastic and then in a white sheet, ready to be buried. And then you see that this man has actually lost two children, probably around the ages of 2 and 3. You think it's enough until you see another girl standing, pinching her fingers, watching all of this with a scared face and heavy breaths 😞

Shaun, there are only 14.3M Palestinians in the world and of whom 5.3M live in occupied West Bank and Gaza. Majority of them are living as refugees all over the world. 2.2M who are in Gaza are under heavy bombardment since last 30 days. 1M of them are just ‘children’ and Israel is killing one child every 10 min since Oct 7th. The problem here is you are making it about Jews instead of about an apartheid state who has suppressed locals for last 75 years. Our Jewish bothers and sisters clearly said, “not on my name” many many times in past few days. The human values should be the focal point of anyone interested in this conflict.
Why am I so vocal on the Israel-Gaza conflict right now? Let's do some napkin math There are only ~15M Jews in the world Of those, 6M live in Israel. Most of them are busy fighting a War There are about 3M in extreme minority positions (750k in France, 600k in Russia, etc)

I invite tech community who are utterly disappointed and feeling scared by reading tweets of tech VCs & tech bros that are intimidating, forceful and one sided morality lecture, to speak up openly and call them out. Share how do you feel when children are dying no matter which side. When hospitals, schools, refugee camps are bombed. When military super powers have unleashed a war on civilians. When they are using crazy weapons in hospital vicinity that grind a human body to a ground meat. When you see torn and burn bodies of babies. When you see a video where a child wants to die because he believes that after death he can get abundance of food and water. Talk about it, condemn this and ask them to give the same respect to all human lives. Sharing your feeling and truth is not threatening, it is been human. Show your humanity.

That is not true, Alexis. It is a propaganda statement from the White House to keep people feeding the fear and create distractions for the cause. Jews students themselves are protesting. In fact, every protest in NYC is attended by a large group of Jews yo this day.
Tonight at Columbia Jewish students led a full Shabbat service at the Gaza solidarity encampment. Minutes later Muslim students had their evening prayer service. All surrounded by love. Please do let the world know: there are ways to live that aren’t being a paranoid bigot.

.@paulbiggar I don’t know how to say thank you to you. Being a founder in tech, many of us exactly felt the way you shared your experience. I am so grateful that you penned it down. I agree, we should never pitch, never recommend and never make an intro to invest in, @sequoia @firstround @BessemerVP @Redpoint @BillAckman @shaunmmaguire @wolfejosh and Sheryl Sandberg of the world. Not only them but we should have a list of those who retweeted their dehumanizing rhetoric and all those who tweeted about Oct 7th but since then are silent. You all have been whitewashing a killing. “When you read about the Holocaust and the Nazis, you like to imagine you'd be the good guy. You'd fight the Nazis, you'd free the concentration camps. But apparently I wouldn't. Apparently I would have just sat there paralyzed, incapable of doing anything about the genocide I see every day. Unable to think of any way to help. All I can do is retweet and protest and write a stupid blog post. I feel so stupid. The propaganda is real, and organized, and obvious. Posting about antisemitism in universities to cover indiscriminate bombing of civilians -- have you no shame.” blog.paulbiggar.com/i-cant-s…

You are a founder of an organization which says, “The future of combating hate”. And someone who has shared a message for peace, you are calling that a genocide. May be this is a sign and a time for you to combat your own conflicting self. Or may be this is the reason you started this organization to solve your ‘self’ problem.

There is this website call, ‘Genocide VC’ that is keeping records of tech VC’s tweets that incite hate, racism and genocide. genocide.vc/ This is the about page.. ——— “We call on all participants in the venture funded economy to end the support of genocide. To employees, ask hard questions of the founders and leadership. Do they support terrorism? Do they support genocide? Is your pay check tainted in blood? To founders, ask the hard questions of your current and future investors. Do they support terrorism? Do they support genocide? Do they support or fund regimes who drop bombs on innocent civilians? Is your cap table tainted in blood? To general partners and venture firms, we ask you to look within your partnerships. Do your partners hold the same values that you hold? Do your partners incite violence with their words? Do your partners support and fund genocide? Do your firm's stated values align with your own? Is your carry tainted in blood? This is the most difficult product launch I have ever had personally. The last few weeks have been quite heavy on all of us. I thought many times that perhaps we should not launch at this time. But then I realized that this is the moment and time to build, to carry on with our dreams, and to act on our responsibilities. And that I am allowed to grieve and build at the same time. That's the spirit behind this! Whenever you can, do check it out. Here is my experience when I tweet about Israeli military attacks in Gaza and killing of Palestinian children, 125 children/day, 6000 since Oct 7th. That invites Israeli trolls who says same thing over and over again? “Not us, Hamas is killing children, they killed 31 Israeli children on Oct 7th.” My response, So are you saying those more than 25000 tonnes of bombs that your military has dropped on schools, refugees camps, hospitals, residential apartments are firecrackers? Or you are saying, you did not drop a single one as yet? Then the next tweet comes, “so what you say about Hamas. If you should condemn someone, condemn Hamas.” My response, are you willing to take responsibility of your own actions while you are constantly dehumanising and killing Palestinians before Oct 7th, and after Oct 7th every single day? Then the next one comes, “so you are pro-Hamas, I can smell antisemitism. So, what you think of Hamas”? My response: The audacity that you can start abusing with such strong words is some other level. Are you anti-Palestine? Are you anti-Muslims? Are you anti-Arabs? Are you saying the same to our other Jewish brothers and sisters who are protesting and asking you to take responsibility of your actions? Then at that point, they start tweeting and tagging my company and start saying, I hope, no one buys your shoes and your shareholders fire you and all kinds of things. My response, are you harassing me? Blocked. Reported. So yes, when our colleagues in tech says, they are feeling the same pressure, it is not the same for everyone. It is next level harassment for people who are talking about Palestinians.

Sam, can you share your source of information? This is the most visually recorded war of all times in human history happening just now. We have seen bombardment on hospitals, churches, refugee camps, universities, ambulances, apartment building in highly dense areas. People are getting warning to move south without any guidance which route is safe to move from north to south. People themselves reporting on twitter and Instagram that they have lost all family members. How about you run a napkin math by seeing casualties before Oct 7th on both sides? And also number of hostages on both sides and then see what number make sense to you. Really sorry you are feeling fear and despair. We all are feeling the same 🤍
This is antisemitism (citing Hamas propaganda statistics) disguised as caring for murdered children

.@RBatniji is one of the most respected entrepreneurs in Silicon valley. He lost 37 members of his family on 18th Nov by an Israeli airstrike. He recently met with Secretary Blinken and here is what he shared, "I am Rajaie Batniji. I take no pride and no honor in being here. I was born in Gaza and immigrated to California as a young child. I am Rajaie Batniji. I take no pride and no honor in being here. Many of my fellow Palestinian Americans discouraged me from speaking with you today, concerned that this discussion was solely performative. I share their concern. I come here out of a sense of duty, to try – as futile as it may be – to save my family in Gaza from being killed. I was born in Gaza and immigrated to California as a young child. I grew up visiting Gaza often, and those visits shaped me in many ways. I personally experienced some of the violence of occupation. I studied the history of the region at Stanford, completed my doctorate in international relations at Oxford as a Marshall Scholar – honoring the legacy of one of your predecessors in this office – and became a physician focused on the health of those that have the least privilege. I’m an entrepreneur who builds teams and technologies that improve American health care. I would rather not be here today. Mr. Secretary, you have provided the weapons and the political cover that enabled the murder of 65 members of my family, mostly women and children, over the past four months. In strikes in mid-November, three generations of my family were killed by missiles as they sought shelter and safety. I carry their memories with me. I see their crushed bodies when I close my eyes. The survivors in my family are homeless. Some 70% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed, according to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal, along with almost all the schools, all the universities, many of the hospitals, the mosques, the churches, the historical sites and the public records. My paternal grandparents’ home in Shejaiya had been among the last homes of my family still standing. This is the home where I was born. It collapsed in a “controlled demolition” just before the new year. According to our own US intelligence agencies, Israel used 29,000 air-to-ground munitions during the first two months of its assault on Gaza. That’s more than were used in the years of the Iraq War – and Gaza is less than one thousandth the size. No one I know in Gaza has a home, or possessions beyond what they carried as they fled Israeli bombardment. My family may be better off than most in Gaza and they are still hungry. I spoke with my mom’s brother this week, and he told me he has lost almost 20 kilograms (44 pounds). Despite your promises, food aid has not been able to reach Gaza to come anywhere near meeting the need. It is blocked at every opportunity, including by Israeli protestors at the Kerem Shalom border crossing, and by Israeli inspections and within Gaza by the Israeli military. According to the United Nations, 4 out of 5 of the hungriest people anywhere in the world are in Gaza. You know that the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, provides food for most Gazans and critical infrastructure for other aid organizations. Yet, after Israel made unverified allegations that a handful of UNRWA staff participated in the October 7 attacks, you cut the funding for UNRWA in what I can understand only as an act of collective punishment. I fear this makes you, and me – as an American – party to the use of starvation as a weapon of war. My cousins in Gaza, who are physicians like me, have no place to practice medicine. Their hospitals have been destroyed or incapacitated. After moving from Shifa to al-Aqsa hospital, only to be evacuated from each by the Israeli military after seeing patients and colleagues killed, they are now living in tents in Rafah and al-Mawasi, using their surgical skills to repair leaks in their tents while the bodies of wounded Palestinians go untreated, and often unretrieved. I have worked extensively in global health and wrote a series of research papers in 2009 on what we thought then was a Palestinian health crisis. We could never, though, have imagined this – the complete destruction of Gaza’s health care system is unprecedented. Even the dead among my family were not spared. Satellite images show that Israeli bulldozers and tanks desecrated the graveyards where my grandparents and great grandparents were resting. I hope to bury their remains again one day. What do you wish to be your legacy, Secretary Blinken? You cannot say you didn’t know. You cannot say that you did not knowingly and materially support these deaths, which a US federal court and the International Court of Justice have both determined plausibly constitute genocide. I am the father of three young children in San Francisco. As adults, I am certain they will reflect on this “genocide” with horror. It will be taught in our classrooms and remembered in our museums as we vow never to repeat it. I ask you to use the full power of your office and every bit of leverage the US has to allow aid to reach all of Gaza, including in the north, where hundreds of thousands of people remain in desperation. And, to resume the funding for UNRWA, which will be essential to the distribution of any aid. I ask you to uphold a rules-based order – which serves our long-term interests – by calling Israel’s indiscriminate bombing that has largely killed women and children, the attacks on health care and the use of starvation as a weapon of war as the war crimes you and I know they are. Your words matter, Mr. Secretary. I feel indignity sitting before you in this comfortable conference room while my family desperately awaits word about a ceasefire, in the dark, hungry, and in tents in fear that the Israeli military will kill them at any moment. In a dignified world, I would be asking for justice, not mercy. That day will come. I hope that you, and this administration, can act quickly to bring our nation to the right side of history before it is far too late.I ask you to uphold a rules-based order – which serves our long-term interests – by calling Israel’s indiscriminate bombing that has largely killed women and children, the attacks on health care and the use of starvation as a weapon of war as the war crimes you and I know they are. Peter, I agree with everything what you are saying here. Except that It is disappointing that you did not condemn Israel killing one child every 10 min, bombing hospitals, refugee camps, schools, religious places, blocking aid, food, water, electricity and displacing 2.2million people amongst those 50% are children. Israel has committed war crimes and it is still doing so. Just now, 36 premature babies are struggling between life and death. 3 of them are already dead because of lack of oxygen. Every single human being must condemn this collective punishment and antisemitism and islamophobia. It is that simple.
I stand with my Jewish and Israeli friends. It’s disappointing that so many public and private institutions can’t state it clearly, even a month later: antisemitism should never be tolerated, and Hamas are terrorists. It’s that simple.

~1% of the children in the total population of Gaza have been killed, missing and wounded, just in 45 days. Here is the data on children killed during other wars, 0.1% of Syrian children were killed from 2011-2023 0.08% of Afghan children were killed in 20 years of war 0.02% of Iraqi children were killed from 2008-2022 0.03% of Yemeni Children were killed from 2015-2022 0.003% of Ukrainian children were killed in last 18 months If this carpet bombing on children in Gaza last for the same duration as war in Ukrain, ~3.5% population of children in Gaza will be wiped out excluding wounded, displaced and missing. So when HRW mentioned, Gaza is a graveyard of children, IT IS!! Note: (6000 children killed, 9000 wounded, 4500 missing in Gaza. Israel is killing 125/day in Gaza since Oct 7th. 12000 of Palestinians children are in Israeli jails since 2000.)

It is not only just coordinated but also shamelessly gasslighting, bullying and spreading forceful misinformation openly. I am sure they are discussing just now, how to dismantle your this tweet.
Well, well, well. That felt coordinated. Turns out it was.

A very powerful message by this Israeli man (I wish I knew his name) ❤️ “I’d never trust him (Netanyahu), not him, not this govt. They are dangerous people. They are extremist, they are fascists, they are racists, they are fanatics. They don’t want peace, they want war, because it serves their own self interest. While most of the people on both sides, Israelis, Palestinians alike, they are the people who pay the price... Netanyahu is just like Donald Trump, just like Milosevic. Just like Hitler. These people will do everything to keep power in their hands and they don't care if everything else crumbles. They can destroy everything just as long as they remain in power, just like Hitler. Hitler told the German people,”you are not worthy of living because if I go down, you go down with me.” Same thing with Netanyahu Some people in Israel are so disturbed that they think if you simply say you’re sad about loss of life of innocent people of children that makes you a traitor because as long as they are no Jewish, you must not say that. This is Sick! I refuse, I will never ever change. First of all I am human being. I am for life and I don’t care if a child is from Gaza or from Tel Aviv or from, I don't care from Istanbul or New York. A child is a child, a child, period. And this is the most important thing in the world” When he started talking about that some people are so disturbed……. This reminds me some people in tech who have been so disturbed that are unable to see that “a child is a child.”

As we close 2023, I reflect less about myself, and more about the world we are living in. The past year has been nothing short of eventful. We thought we’d ease up once pandemic ended and here we began with a startling market crash, followed by unprecedented layoffs and financial institutions collapsing. The weight of the world grew even heavier as we witnessed the loss of innocent life in the most horrific way of modern times, with seemingly no end in sight. It pains me to acknowledge building amidst so much tragedy is the new normal. Needless to say, this has been mentally draining for everyone. And I’d be remiss to reflect on the year at Atoms without speaking to our shared humanity first. When I became CEO of @Atoms a year ago, I decided to go back to the basics. This involved a dedicated focus on products and customer satisfaction. In doing that we challenged many of our existing operating practices and beliefs. We committed to doing things differently, even at times even if that means to scale back or to slow down, but deliver the best to our customers. I’m proud to say we’ve accomplished a lot this year as a result. Some highlights I’m particularly proud of: - Atoms turned profitable in April. - We teamed up with Marques Brownlee aka @MKBHD, for a cool sneaker collaboration. - We introduced Atoms Kids Shoes. - 100% satisfaction on meeting holidays delivery times I’m so grateful for our team at Atoms for their dedication and commitment to our customers. Huge shout out to our logistics partners who helped us ensure a smooth holiday season. And to our customers and supporters, none of this would have happened without you. Thank you for being on this journey with us! If there's something we can do to make your experience better, please let us know in the comments. We are here to bring joy to your lives - something that matters more today than ever. Happy New Year!! ~ if you get a chance in the new year, take frequent micro-breaks, do things that hold meaning for you, connect with your fundamentals, and remember what you are feeling, many around you are feeling the same way. Reach out to friends and allies. Together, we are stronger. Much Love. - Sidra

I would never forget this moment. This is humanity that feels so lost these days. So much respect for Jewish people who risked their lives to raise their voice, their concerns for Palestinians, for children of Gaza.🫶🏽
Thousands are sitting in at Grand Central Station demanding a #CeasefireNOW. In just two weeks, more than 7,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis were killed. Right now, Israeli warplanes are flattening entire neighborhoods in Gaza. This is what the US government is supporting.

Then they say, this is a war against Hamas and we don't want children to die. Yet they are bombing them in their sleep and also leaving wounded to die. Since past several weeks, they shamelessly bombed hospitals to prove their claims for Hamas’ headquarter and tunnel network underneath. At the end nothing but few laughable videos and more human miseries with every passing day. #creasfirenow.
A surgeon in Gaza had to do an amputation surgery for his OWN child without anesthesia Then he watched his child die from all the pain. 💔

Imagine you get super power on your back, military operations powered by AI, have billions of dollars of funding, your tech, your businesses are booming, you have support of billionaires. Western journalists are afraid to write about your crimes. You have unlimited resources and time to create war propaganda. Anyone who speaks about your crimes against humanity, gets fired. You oppressed 2.2 million people in an open air prison. You detained thousands of children in your jails. You kill 20000 civilians in cold blood with 1:20 ratio under precise targeting. You fire bullets, rockets on children and say not us, Hamas. And yet you keep complaining that world is so unfair to you. Have psychologists ever named this mental state? Seems some kind of narcissism or worse.

More than 100 children have been killed everyday since Israel started carpet bombing civilians. One child every 15 min. It is horrific and a war crime. It is a genocide. All nations must intervene and ask Hamas to release all hostages and to Israel for an immediate ceasefire.

Are these 1000 American Jews also antisemitic? Question for VC twitter that have been calling everyone antisemitic left right center who ever says, ceasefire or quote human catastrophe in Gaza or quote number of dead children bodies. I have never been this much confused about a word’s definition before. While wondering, also celebrating the courage of these American Jews who have been protesting to stand for human values and solidarity.

The influence of powerful lobbies extends beyond politics, reaching into the tech and now educational institutions as well. The hostile responses from some tech bros & VCs towards pro-Palestine tweets, along with instances of shadow banning, Palantir open support, are indicative of this growing influence. I hesitate to simply say 'America is being used' because it overlooks the systemic control of power that has helped lobbyist to learn how to ride the imperialist dragon. No matter who was president, I doubt the outcome would have been different.
This UN vote shows how completely isolated we are from world opinion. Is it because only America is smart enough to understand the Israeli point of view? Or because America's most powerful lobby has dragged us onto the wrong side of history? The answer to that is obvious.

I just received incredibly sad news. Our team member, Aiden (Jung Gyewon), has passed away from influenza. He was a proud father of a 3-year-old. Aiden joined us a year ago as a product innovation lead in South Korea. He brought great attention to detail and quality to our product operations. He led the kids' collection and M251.1 development projects. I am still shocked, as we all are. Just reminding myself to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Life is too short of a trip. 🙏🏽

We got really lucky to partnered with @MKBHD, not only he has an incredible taste but a very humble and genuine person. So much to celebrate here, incredible taste, innovation, very personal story, a commitment to make a wearable and the most comfortable high-top in the world!
The core reason Atoms is based out of NYC, is because of our passion for creators. Two years ago, we had the opportunity to collaborate with one of our favorite creators, Marques Brownlee (aka MKBHD), who is a top YouTuber, an athlete, and all around an incredible human being.

Mark, you can Imagine how those people who lost more than 14000+ children and in total 35000 to Israeli bombs must be feeling. And it is still happening. Now the imperfect democratic force starving the 100% of the population among them 1.1millions are children. Everyday 10 children is Gaza losing at least one leg. Anyone who deeply care about their ancestors, would stand up against this genocide and call for a ceasefire because that's exactly happened to them. This is not about Oct 7th, this is systematic oppressions and dehumanisation of Palestinian people that Israel as colonist state has been doing by displacing 6 million people and conducting 33 massacre since 1948.
What happened to me? Nothing. What happened to 1,200+ Israelis? They were murdered, mutilated & raped by terrorists. And a group of privileged, no-nothings on the US far left blamed the victims. This is the history of my ancestors. And that of my children if I don’t speak up. The world has paid no attention that Hamas = ISIS. They don’t call for the release of prisoners. They don’t understand that Israel is the ancestral home of my people for 5,000 years. The world doesn’t get that Israel is a democracy that allows Muslims to serve in govt, courts & military when the same is not true in reverse. Of the 9 million Israelis, > 2 million are not Jewish. That’s what happened. The “rot” is a stain on the mindless people who support terrorists over an imperfect democracy. And I will never be silent about this. To do so would disrespect my parents, my grandparents and every relative of mine who suffered through pogroms to give me the freedoms I enjoy in the United States. I have a blessing. But also the responsibility to speak up. I am not anti Muslim, anti Arab or anti Palestinian. I am pro all of them. I am anti, anti-Semite. And unconsciously the far left always slips into the “blame the Jews” mindset.

This is what call proof? Isn’t it crazy that they are showing a random basement with ventilators, kids milk bottles, a chair and a rope? And for that they bombed hospitals, schools, refugee camps and killed more than 4000 children. Insane!!!
Discovered in the basement of #RantisiHospital: a Hamas command center with weapons. Evidence also points to hostages being held here: The diapers, the bottles and more. WATCH @IDF spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari:

One thing that I heard the most while going through YC and being an entrepreneur, “we are doing to change the world.” It was quite fascinating to me that you can think that big. While building @atoms that focuses on making the most comfortable shoes that people want to wear every single day, I realized that that changing the world starts by having a deep understanding of your customers and their needs. How it feels to be in their feet. You can never change the world without that level of empathy. When you develop that level of empathy for a human being, you can never look over what is happening in the world. In my case, I am also a mom. So how come when I have been practicing that empathy and have a child can look over when the most visually broadcast war on civilians is happening. When 6000 children been bombed mercilessly. I CAN’T. That’s the feeling I shared with @margauxmaccoll in this article. Tbh, this article made me cry that how hard it is to raise your voice in Tech that taught me, “go change the world.” theinformation.com/articles/…
