SHERMAN, TX — Jenna Ryan, the widely known January 6 political prisoner who was later pardoned by President Donald Trump, has secured a court default against PayPal Inc. in her $185 million federal lawsuit (Case 4:22-cv-00559-ALM-BD, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas). The final default judgment is now pending before the court following PayPal’s failure to respond within the required deadline.
Ryan, who flew to Washington, D.C., aboard a private jet and became one of the most recognized figures from January 6, filed the lawsuit pro se. The case alleges constitutional violations, government collusion, illegal surveillance, and reputational destruction following PayPal’s 2021 account ban and media leak.
“PayPal stayed silent for 36 days,” Ryan said. “Default proves they colluded with the government to silence me.”
Her Third Amended Complaint (Dkt. #62) outlines how PayPal banned her within hours of tweeting a $200 fundraiser—and leaked the action to CBS within 30 minutes, triggering 28+ defamatory articles that destroyed her $50 million real estate business, coaching brand, and $1–2 million commentary platform.
Ryan’s Motion to Declare PayPal a State Actor (Dkt. #58) argues PayPal acted under government direction through FinCEN and the FBI—claims that echo a December 2024 ruling by Judge Amos Mazzant against FinCEN in Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc. v. Garland.
“Mazzant’s FinCEN ruling backs me,” Ryan said. “This is justice—courts rule.”
On April 6, Ryan demanded $50–$75 million from CBS/Paramount Global, alleging their January 21, 2021 article played a central role in amplifying the illegal leak. She plans to file a federal lawsuit by April 14 if no resolution is reached.
Ryan will appear in an interview with The Dallas Express on April 8. Her case is now attracting global attention as a test of accountability for Big Tech and media collusion with government surveillance.
“PayPal and CBS canceled me from society,” Ryan said. “Infamous or not, I beat PayPal into default, and CBS settles—or they’re next.”
