A donations based aid initiative, led by Palestinians , working to supply emergency shelter and aid to displaced families in Gaza. Collab with @translatingpal.

"I send a message to the whole world to stand by me and every Palestinian hostage" chuffed.org/project/136892-m… Imagine losing a leg and then getting imprisoned and then losing your eyesight. That’s what happened to Mahmoud Abu Foul at the age of 28. He was abducted from Kamal Adwan hospital on December 27th and endured 8 months of brutal torture, beatings and humiliation. Mahmoud like many other returned hostages isn’t getting the proper medical care and can’t get a prosthetic leg as it is not available in Gaza. Borders need to open for doctors and field hospitals to provide adequate treatment. Till then, The Sameer Project are providing medical care through our Sawarha medical point and medical treatment camp to Mahmoud and others like him. Meanwhile, we gave Mahmoud dressings and medications worth $68 and cash aid. We are looking to support the released hostages with medical and mental health care. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un Our worst nightmare became a reality yesterday. Our dear, beloved Mosab was martyred. He was taken from us by the sick, evil occupier. Mosab WAS The Sameer Project. He was our camp manager, ran all our South initiatives, a coordinator who would get the best prices, find goods, organize the biggest distributions, solved problems. Out of necessity to treat his injured son he founded TechMed, a technology driven mental and physical rehabilitation organization. He was a team leader. But this is only a fraction of who Mosab was to us…. He was our friend, our family. Mosab was the most honorable, honest, caring, fierce but gentle, strong but soft, intelligent, respectable man we have known. He absolutely adored his wife and his three children. He was their protector - he made us all feel safe. Mosab made working in a genocide feel doable, feel impactful, despite his own pain and struggles. And he did this because he loved Gaza. Mosab loved his people, he would do anything at all to help. And help he did. Mosab saved lives. Every single day. When our camp was shot at last summer he carried children and the elderly to safety. He evacuated an entire camp within hours when it was under threat. He would source food and serve thousands that were hungry. He rushed the sick to the hospital. His tenderness and words of advice made all problems go away. And he saved us - Palestinians in the diaspora that didn’t know where to put our rage and sadness and desire to help. He was everything that we all aspire to be. Mosab was too good for this cruel world. He was loved so much, he gave so much love, he was the best of us. Our team is devastated, there is a hole in our hearts. But Mosab made it very clear to us, always, what his priority was - to support our people. We are hurt beyond belief and all we can do now is pray for his family and be there for them. But we will not stop. We can’t. We won’t and we will continue to serve Gaza, for Mosab, for all those who are suffering. May Allah have mercy on him and grant his family strength.

It was the last few days of Ramadan. Families had plans to gather and celebrate, but the ceasefire abruptly and violently ended a week prior. This is when 14 year old Hassan was injured with stray shrapnel that pierced through his skull and into his brain and eye. Help with his care: chuffed.org/project/113327-r…. Hassan’s treatment is not available in Gaza. Like so many others he awaits evacuation with a referral report grading his condition as “emergency.” But with ongoing evacuation orders and incessant bombings it’s been weeks since the last medical evacuation, and the World Health Organization has yet to contact Hassan regarding treatment abroad. Hassan and his family have been living at our Refaat Alareer Camp and receiving medical treatment including physiotherapy, wound cleaning, and symptom management for his eye. He has seen specialists at every hospital in the North and the South and The Sameer Project team is doing everything to keep him calm and comfortable and manage his pain. Medical evacuations are nuanced, rare, and so difficult. We need to allow patients to receive lifesaving care outside of Gaza’s destroyed medical system. In the meantime The Sameer Project continues to support many of these patients who are waiting, who are suffering. Help us by contributing to the Camp link. “Osbo’o” meaning week in Arabic is what we call the celebration of a newborn baby in Palestine. Aysal is the first newborn in the Refaat Alareer camp who was born in late November and we celebrated her arrival a week after she was born. We also celebrated Yazan and Maya’s birthday (twins in camp). The first thing we do in the osbo’o is bath the baby and put them on a decorated “ghorbal” (tray). The mother then wears a traditional dress and has to do 7 turns carrying the baby and saying “bismillah” (in God’s name). Meanwhile, another woman repeats phrases like: listen to your mom, listen to your dad, listen to your grandmother, etc. Typically the kids chase the mother and newborn with long candles and sing songs to welcome the baby. Kids are given bags of sweets and plates of “sumai’a” are given out to everyone. The baby and mother are given gold or cash by close friends and family. We tried in Refaat Alareer camp to celebrate the arrival of little Aysal with the sound of bombing in the background, and all we can do is keep fighting for Aysal to grow in a free 🍉.

Our team occasionally send us videos of specific tough cases and this one broke our hearts. A single mom with her mentally ill mother and three children, with no shelter or any basic needs provided. Support her case here: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… With a pack of diapers costing over $28 and a can of milk costing $11, families like this can’t afford to cover the basics for their baby. In addition, people with mental illness struggle a lot in the genocide with no care or support provided. Unfortunately, families like these are invisible to large organizations and supporters through social media. In the famine, the first people who pay the price are these invisible families with no access to any support or/and who suffer from chronic illnesses / mental illnesses, and/or those pregnant or with babies, etc. We will provide support to this family and other families in similar situations. The hope of Palestinian people is rooted in faith. “Indeed, Allah is the One Who causes seeds and fruit stones to sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That is Allah! How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺?” (6:95). Despite all the destroyed farms, Palestinians in Gaza are back to farming and growing crops for our community, support: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… In collaboration with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (@APNorg), the Sameer Project invested $33,300 including 11% commission to grow 15 donoms of land. The land is in Masdar, Khan Younis, and the farmers started growing cucumbers and courgettes. October is the month for the new season of farming so we’re hoping to see the results in a few weeks! Food sovereignty is a form of resistance against land dispossession and starvation. As Palestinians, our goal is to be self-sufficient by using local natural resources. As most of the bombing has stopped in Gaza, we are hoping to collaborate more with APN on farming projects and maybe beehives too 🐝 Donate to the South campaign for more farming projects: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Other ways to donate include: paypal.me/mahertali (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "South aid") account.venmo.com/u/Maher-Al… (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "South aid")

Our little angel went back to God 💔 We are sorry we couldn’t do more to help you Zeinab …
Taking care of a sick baby becomes a family affair. When we recently visited baby Zeinab in Khan Younis we saw the immense toll her health condition had on her family. chuffed.org/project/136892-m…. Her mother had been going back and forth with her to the hospital, searching for her formula, all while watching her daughter wither away. The Sameer Project returned to Zeinab and her family with extra support to assist them during this stressful time. We provided them with a new tent, mattresses for comfort, cooking pots and pans, utensils, clothing for Zeinab, and vegetables and nutritional supplements for the other children too. The family’s focus should be on their sick child, but the situation in Gaza is unrelenting. The family resides close to evacuation zones and where tanks rolled in just a few days ago. If this family gets displaced they will come to our Refaat Alareer Camp so that 4 month old Zeinab is safe while her health condition is so vulnerable. Contribute to the Medical Campaign so that we can support some of these critical and complex cases with all encompassing aid and care for them during this extremely dire time. It was Movie Night at the Refaat Alareer Camp! chuffed.org/project/113327-r…. All the children from the camp gathered together to enjoy a nighttime viewing of an anime movie, brought by an organization with the projector screen. Something so simple, so normal for children everywhere, was a special treat for the children in Gaza. Between the lack of electricity and it being unsafe for the majority of 2 years to gather outside at night, these events have not been possible. Finally children could be children and enjoy a fun night. The children in the Refaat Alareer Camp are among the sickest, most injured, and vulnerable in Gaza. And to bring a moment of happiness and laughter to their suffering and pain was absolutely priceless. Help us give care - physical, mental, emotional, and love - to the children of the Refaat Alareer Camp by donating to the Camp Campaign. While surveying the situation in Khan Younis, The Sameer Project team came upon a cluster of tents in extremely bad condition, set up in the sand. They were not even tents, but makeshift shelters of torn sheets and plastic, any scrap pieces of metal or wood that can be found is the only things holding up tattered roofs. Over 230 families live in the Mutahaboon Camp. There is no water, no food, no support for these families. They need our assistance. Help us provide new, sturdy, weather proof tents for Al-Mutahaboon Camp. We will be putting them up starting with the families who need one the most, whose current shelter is not livable. Children and babies with heart conditions - this is what happens when the healthcare system is destroyed, they have no proper nutrition, chemical weapons are used, and the stress of simply surviving wears on the body. chuffed.org/project/149178-s… The people that are fleeing South are doing so after nearly 2 years of hardship and suffering. Nearly 24 months of a destroyed medical system unable to provide for the sick. After eating canned goods, no protein, spoiled and rotten food. Their health failing and their nutrition can hardly sustain them through the journey. They can’t be expected to make it on their own, we must assist those in the most dire need. This is Wurood, quite possibly the strongest 12 year old you’ll ever meet. Shame on the world’s leaders for putting her in this position. Wurood went to the upper most Northern region to check on her family’s home in Beit Lahia. Like everything in the area, it was destroyed by the occupation. Support: chuffed.org/project/149178-s… So with all her family’s belongings carried overhead, and on foot, she started the nearly 5 mile walk to Gaza’s Port to find a place to set up a makeshift tent. We found her mid journey and of course assisted her with a car ride to the sea, to ease her burden. Families, children like Wurood, are returning to the North to find their homes in ruins. We need to help them with tents, tarps, mattresses, blankets, and nearing rubble from the streets for easier movement. We cannot wait for larger relief organizations to eventually come in, if they ever do! We have to act now. How do you get aid into Gaza? We don’t and we never have! Barely any trucks are coming in and we are not associated with any organizations bringing aid in. So how do you do food / goods distributions? - We purchase vegetables from existing farms inside of Gaza. Average price per kilo of vegetables right now is $20 (without commission). - We buy goods from the market for high prices. These goods include tuna, peanut butter, flour, etc. and the people selling them get them during the murderous GHF distributions or the highly risky air drops. The military occupation designed this chaos where people risk their lives to obtain a couple of cans of tuna and sell them at high prices to feed their families. - We do bulk purchases from traders and merchants. For example, we buy shoes from a trader who sells shoes in a shop and we take them to camps and distribute them for free. Some merchants buy from the market multiple bags of flour and resell them. And unfortunately some war profiteers who are under the protection pf the occupation loot the few trucks that get in and sell the goods at insanely high prices! Hope this explains where mutual aid groups typically buy goods from.

Musab is one of the most critical, and most devastating patients we have cared for under The Sameer Project. chuffed.org/project/113327-r…. Months ago we would visit Musab nearly weekly with food parcels, nutritional help, and hygiene support, along with his medication, when he was at Al Shifa Hospital in the North. Upon evacuating to the South and being denied inpatient hospital services at Al Aqsa due to overcrowding, The Sameer Project has been in regular contact with the family to figure out how best to serve Musab. We immediately supplied him with a tent and a large food parcel with weeks worth of pantry staples. We also gave the injured child diapers and a restock of his medication. We want to do more, but in Gaza there are endless obstacles. The plan was to bring Musab and his family to one of our medical camps, with an onsite medical clinic ready to deal with any emergency. But Musab requires 24 hour electricity to run his air mattress, blender for food, and suction machine to remove secretion out of his airways. The Refaat Alareer Camp, Sawarha Camp, and Batool Camp like most of Gaza relies on solar panels for electricity. As the days become shorter and cloudier, electricity is not reliable. We are in discussion with Musab’s mother and father and ready to receive Musab when his family sees fit given the uncertain conditions. It just shows you the amount of effort and considerations that go into every decision of bringing every family into our medical camps. Help us potentially support Musab in our camp, and so many other patients in need of extra support, by donating to the Refaat Alareer Camp. No amount of videos coming out of Gaza will depict how horrifying the reality actually is. We just spoke to the wife of a man who 25 days ago went to Beit Hanoun to get a bag of flour, and got run over multiple times by a jeep from the military occupation. He had two surgeries but néeds many more, has a castor, has wounds with worms coming out of them, his bladder is destroyed and his hips are broken. The images are one of the worst that we’ve seen. His wife walks for over an hour everyday to go see him in the hospital because she can’t afford any transport, and he only has one meal a day of rice or burgul given in the hospital. His body needs nutrients to recover. We beg you to keep supporting our medical campaign so we can provide aid to such cases: chuffed.org/project/136892-m…

On the last day of Ramadan, the team ended the holy month with the incredible achievement of providing 1,000 meals in one day! The meals were distributed to different camps in Mawasi Khan Younis including: 200 to Farouq camp, 250 to Mothaboon camp, 150 to Abdulal camp, 200 to Abu Nasr camp, 70 to Batoul camp and 70 to Refaat Alareer camp in Zawayde as well as 60 meals randomly distributed on the street. This campaign was done with 8% commission only so each meal cost around $4.4 and the thousand meals cost $4,418. The Ramadan campaign will close tomorrow as people are donating their Zakat Fitr. Thank you for supporting us in providing water & food during this tough time. chuffed.org/project/123952-s…

Babies are skin and bones. Dying of starvation. Meanwhile the occupation will not allow in the formula that is sitting in trucks just miles away that can save their lives. HELP: chuffed.org/project/136892-m… The Sameer Project is doing all we can to source the cans and boxes of formula and nutritional supplements for infants that are still available in Gaza. These can be found occasionally in markets and from suppliers at the highest prices we have ever seen due to the scarcity. One can of specialized baby formula can cost up to $125 after cash commission. This is baby Zeinab. She has spent the first months of her life in and out of the hospital. She needs treatment abroad for a medical condition, but in the meantime she needs sustenance for survival. She can only take lactose free milk. The lack of this product in the hospitals and markets makes it impossible for her to eat. She has extreme gastrointestinal distress and she’s losing even more weight. She needs our help. We are searching for the specialized formula for Zainab, and for other babies like her. We need your help. We need immediate funds to pay for bulk purchases of any baby formula and supplements we can find, despite the price. Their lives are depending on us and on you. Donate to the Medical Campaign. During this difficult time and our support for Palestinians in Gaza, it is crucial that you do your due diligence on the groups you’re donating to. We are seeing Zionist “aid groups” entering Gaza who in the past have collected data from people in exchange for aid. In addition, there are groups claiming that they’ve distributed hundreds of thousands of meals with meat using videos from months ago. This is really problematic and lacks transparency. Other groups are not paying their ground team and/or hoard goods (e.g. formula/ medication) during the famine. Due diligence is important and supporting groups with the goal of liberating Palestine is what we need to do. Many have different strategies and approaches but are firmly anti-Zionist and transparent. Some of these groups who need your support are: - @Reviving_gaza : Palestinian-led group providing assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, mainly water trucks and also has an orphan program. - Zaynab Project (only on Instagram): The Zaynab Project is a woman-led, grassroots nonprofit that focus on food aid, clean water, medical relief, orphan sponsorship, and emergency relief. Follow their page here: instagram.com/thezaynabproje… - Hope for Gaza’s Children (@Nagiha1990): Hope for Gaza’s Children is a grassroots campaign that raises $500 for each child in need. The campaign does not fundraise for children who already have active fundraising links, to avoid duplication and ensure support reaches as many families as possible. Any donations exceeding the $500 target are used to provide essential items such as diapers, formula, and additional support for families. To maintain transparency, a detailed breakdown of all funds is available via a shared Google Drive link. Follow their page: instagram.com/hopeforgazasch… - @gazafunds : Gaza Funds vets and adds fundraisers to their list that appears on the Gaza Funds website for anyone who wants to contribute. Behind the scenes, they check up on every fundraiser to make sure it’s moving along and getting donations. - @GazaGreatMinds : An essential group focusing on education in Gaza by providing school supplies and cover the costs for running various schools in Gaza.

We’ve been hearing stories for months of children losing their glasses during displacements, breaking them as they fled, or needing new prescriptions because their eyes are affected by the dust from bombs. The Sameer Project worked with a local optometrist in Al Mawasi, Khan Younis to set up a tent for eye exams and fit children of all ages with new distance and reading glasses. We provided 71 pairs of glasses ranging from 170-200 shekels per pair to the children who were in need. We hope to provide eye exams and glasses again in other areas and with your support we can ensure that children are able to see - to learn, to study, to play! Please contribute to either the South campaign or Ramadan campaign for these medical needs. chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

Unfortunately there was an attack attempt on the Refaat Alareer camp tonight by a bunch of thugs who stormed in and started shooting in the air. Our incredible team handled the situation and informed them that this a camp for sick kids. They refused to leave for around 30 minutes and then they left. The families in the camp are understandably distraught but everyone is safe. We will work closely with the team tomorrow to ensure that all the possible measures are taken, and provide the families with any care they might need.

“Yalla na’merha” means “let’s build it”. With limited resources, the Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x Sameer Project team decided to clear out some streets in the North so that those displaced in the South can return. Support: chuffed.org/project/149178-s… On October 18th, the Sameer Project team went to the Nafaq area in Gaza City and managed to clear out two side roads. A tractor was hired for the heavy lifting and then our team cleaned the streets. The municipality was contacted and permission was granted to do this clean up. The tractor and truck were hired for 5 hours and cost $4,721 (11% commission) and 10 team members were there as well as 23 day workers who were paid $818 cash total (17% commission). We also purchased 15 shovels, 5 large hammers, 5 grabhoes, 10 brooms, 1 wheelbarrow, snacks and other stuff for the team that cost around $2,388. Total costs that day was $7,927. The equipment will be used for future cleanups too! This campaign is not just about clearing streets but it’s also about bringing the community together. Men, women and children came out of their homes and helped our team in the clean up. Your donations allowed us to bring families back to their homes from the South. Over 200,000 Palestinians are still in Gaza City, please help us provide food and water to them despite the danger: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
🚨EMERGENCY: As food packages were being organized for a distribution, the occupation bombed a residential building, leveling the area around where @sameerproject team was working. chuffed.org/project/help-us-… Nearly half a million people remain in the North of Gaza. Whether because they refuse to leave their land or because they are unable to find costly transport South, thousands and thousands of families still need food, still need water, still need our help as they are being bombed without mercy. Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project @sameerproject is one of the only initiatives left serving the North. But this does not come without extreme risk for our team. They are putting their lives on the line to support their community with the basic necessities for survival. And as our team rushed to help trapped families, the Civil Defense arrived, in a fire truck repaired and outfitted by The Sameer Project - showing the impact you have allowed us to have on the North with your contributions. We made sure not to publish these clips at the time we received them, out of fear for our team’s safety from being targeted… chuffed.org/project/help-us-… In late September, Gaza City was emptying, people were being forcefully displaced, including our own team. They were in dangerous areas and had to leave with their families but also were helping people along the way - on the road and when they got to the South - with food, water, and tents. But a group from our team remained in the North to continue delivering water to the people. We say this out of gratitude and appreciation for these heroes, whose stories of resilience we hope to tell one day. We won’t tag them but they will see this post 🥹🥹🥹 Without them, so many more people would have suffered. Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project provided 50,000 liters of fresh drinking water to the following areas on September 25… Gaza City: • al-etisalat Junction in al-Rimal neighborhood – 5,000 liters • al-Ghalayini Tower area in al-Rimal neighborhood – 5,000 liters • Rashad al-Shawwa in al-Rimal neighborhood – 5,000 liters • al-Shifaa area – 5,000 liters • Electricity Company area in al-Samer neighborhood – 5,000 liters • al-Samer Junction in al-Samer neighborhood – 5,000 liters • Yaffa Street in al-Daraj neighborhood – 5,000 liters • al-Sadra in al-Daraj neighborhood – 5,000 liters • al-Hajani in al-Daraj neighborhood – 5,000 liters • Electricity Company area in al-Samer neighborhood – 5,000 liters Don’t stop supporting the North! Despite the ceasefire being implemented today and going into full effect, and with our teams busy returning home or checking on their homes with their families, we still wanted to make sure we contributed something meaningful today. One of our team members was returning to the upper northern areas of Jabalia from Gaza City, so we decided to make the most of the opportunity by distributing cash aid with the liquidity we had left. We carefully prepared envelopes with the available liquidity and cash, and in total, we managed to distribute 25 envelopes, each containing 200 NIS. These funds were given to families making their way back, to offer them a small measure of relief as they began to rebuild their lives after the devastation. It was important to us that even on a day of transition like this, we continued to extend a helping hand to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who keeps supporting the Translating Falasteen @translatingpal x The Sameer Project North Campaign. Please send prayers and healing to our family - our team at The Sameer Project, our partners at TechMed. There was an immense loss overnight. During the “ceasefire” an entire multi generational family bombed, stolen from us. No one is safe until the occupation falls. May Allah show mercy and accept our martyrs. Glory to our martyrs. From the young to the elderly, taken from us. Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-Wakeel.

🚨🚨 WE URGENTLY NEED FUNDS 🚨🚨 chuffed.org/project/149178-s… What is happening in the North of Gaza is indescribable. Entire residential blocks are being flattened with terrifying fire belts. The hospitals are being attacked. Families are stuck under the rubble, no one able to reach them. People who want to leave cannot find or afford transport. Once they get South they have no shelter and no place to go. One way transportation is $2,000 and a tent is $1,200 in cash - meaning 40% withdrawal commission! Those who remain in the North still need food and water for survival. Those that make it South also need food and water. Patients need medical care. Vulnerable families need places to live. The Sameer Project has a plan to assist as much as possible BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! 🚨 Donations are slowing at the worst possible time when people in Gaza are the most in need. 🚨 Please donate to, share with your networks, spread our Displacement Response Campaign. Salam, In terms of the Oscars win, representation on a Western platform that portrays our men as “terrorists” and our women as “oppressed victims” is nothing to celebrate or even acknowledge. To us, the Oscars is nothing but a celebration of Zionist racist colonial narratives and is the center and face of hypercapitalist fascist elites. Now let alone, when the Oscar’s speech is won by a liberal Zionist that doesn’t even use the word genocide and equates the relationship between colonizer and colonized. This is called normalization and we Palestinians don’t accept this. We are most definitely not “intertwined” and the fact that he centered Israeli safety and mentioned Israeli hostages from October 7th but not the tens of thousands of Palestinian hostages (including children). This is truly ridiculous. After losing over 100,000 people, we are not looking for “little wins” or crumbs from the colonizers. We are not victims and we don’t want their pity. For us Palestinians, claps from celebrities is not what we aspire for or celebrate. What we aspire for is the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea.

A lot of you have seen this clip of our mental health support initiative getting bombed, but none of you saw the full story. We were holding an mental health boost event for children at the Al-Aman Kindergarten in North Gaza. We are posting these clips to show everyone what was happening before and how happy the children were before the bombing took place. The mood quickly shifted from joy and celebration to panic and fear. Our team at the Translating Falasteen @translatingpal x The Sameer Project North campaign was busy making sure all children present were safe and none of them ran off to a place that could cause them harm. Unfortunately, all of the healing we did today immediately undone. This just goes to show how much these mental health initiatives we are holding are needed. These moments of panic and fear have become extremely common in these children's life. We will definitely be returning to the same Kindergarten soon, so the children can have hope in a brighter tomorrow. Thank you to all of supported us and continue to support us. We often get comments and questions about why women in Gaza get pregnant ignoring their stories, feelings & experiences. After 23 months of genocide, Palestinians in Gaza continue to resist and hold on to life. Hope. Babies bring hope. We listened to these women who struggled to get pregnant for years or lost a child during the genocide. They look down at their unborn children with a smile of hope and gratitude. We gave each mother to be a baby package (2 for mama with twins) that include baby bottle, bottle cleaner, toiletries, outfit, sponge and blanket. Six packages cost around $900. No one, absolutely no one outside of Gaza gets to dictate how Palestinians choose to live and to resist. The military occupation tells Palestinians in Gaza every single day that they don’t deserve life through bombings and an imposed famine. We are here to tell you that we at the Sameer Project do NOT accept that. Palestinians in Gaza deserve life. Women in Gaza deserve to get pregnant. Babies in Gaza deserve to be born into a safe loving environment. Love to all the warrior mamas, mamas who lost their babies and mamas to be in Gaza ❤️ Support our baby initiatives in the North and the South through our linktree: linktr.ee/thesameerproject?u…

We cannot go back to this - burned and maimed babies, child martyrs, families torn apart. chuffed.org/project/136892-m…. Prior to the ceasefire agreement, in one of the last mass casualty attacks (before today) our medical point in our Sawarha Camp received baby Rosa who had severe facial and upper torso burns from a fire that broke out after an airstrike. Her grandfather, who is one of her primary caretakers was also injured. Since then, the Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project medical team has been following up with Rosa for daily wound cleanings and burn debridement. We provided her with medication and burn cream and we are following up with scar cream as well. Thanks to the detailed personal care, weeks later Rosa is healing well and will make a full recovery. This is Madleen. Fisherwoman in Gaza. The namesake for the #FreedomFlotilla. Click for ways to support: linktr.ee/thesameerproject?u… As Gaza’s first and only female fisherman, Madleen embodies the resilience of Palestinians in Gaza. The profession is dangerous as the occupation’s Naval ships fire upon the small boats on Gaza’s coastline trying to catch fish. Due to the occupation’s blockade of the land, air, and sea, Gaza cannot even provide the life sustenance that should be their right to gather from the plentiful Mediterranean Sea in which generations of Palestinians have benefited from. During the ceasefire, The Sameer Project was going to support Madleen and other fisherman/woman with brand new nets and equipment, to return agency and allow them to continue with their profession. We were partnering with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (@apnorg) to make the purchases for this sustainable project. The ceasefire ended, the massacres continued, and now the @gazafreedomflotilla named after Madleen is attempting to break an illegal and inhumane siege on Gaza. The world must act now to stop the occupation. And when Gaza is liberated, we will be there to support and empower Madleen again. When we first met Tahreer she could not sit up on her own, her head had to be supported as it would fall to the side, and she could certainly not walk. chuffed.org/project/136892-m…. Now, after over a month of physiotherapy, she is showing incredible signs of improvement. The 4 year old was referred to is by a doctor in the North. Tahreer suffers from brain atrophy since birth, with severe muscle weakness, and needed intense physiotherapy 6 days per week to give her a chance at controlling her bodily movement. But her mother could not afford the sessions. The Sameer Project covered Tahreer’s sessions, 6 days a week for over 4 weeks and we will continue to support as she makes progress. Each session is only 15 shekels but paid for in cash at 38% withdrawal fee. This small commitment from us, and all the work Tahreer is putting in, will change her life forever. We would like to make a deal with a physiotherapist center in the North for 20 children with similar issues and needs as Tahreer’s. These session would costs 25 shekels through bank transfer, with each child needing 3 sessions per week. For 2 months support this would come out to 12,000 shekels or $3,673 after the fees. The water desalinization plant where our team pumps half the water we deliver from was bombed tonight by the occupation forces. Read that again. Israel bombed one of the only remaining sources of water in the entire North. The plant in Al Tuffah is where most water that is supplied to eastern and central Gaza City comes from. It’s gone. Yesterday we delivered 86,000 liters of water. While we await morning to come for a full picture of the situation we know some things for certain: there will not be enough water for everyone, the price of water per liter will increase from the inability to produce it, and the number of diseases from drinking contaminated water will immediately rise. Music is resistance. The songs sung by Palestinian children are about liberation, joy, preservation and protection of the land and the people. If you are looking to listen to some Palestinian folklore music, you can look up the following Palestinian singers: Ahmad Kaabour, Dalal Abu Amneh, Rim Banna, Amal Kaawash, Nai Barghouthi, Mohammad Assaf and Amal Murkus. Lebanese singers who sung about Palestine include: Marcel Khalifa, Ziad Rahbani, Omaima Khalil and Hussein Monzer (from Ashqeen band). Do you know any other Palestinian singers? (Add to comments) This video shows the Refaat Alareer camp kids singing with Mantoosha, one of the camp cats. One of the most marginalized communities in Gaza right now are people with disabilities. Unfortunately their conditions remain terrible with no sufficient support. Ruba is 16 years old and has a mental disability and her sister Mariam is 8 years old and suffers from brain atrophy. Mariam sits in a barrel all day so that she doesn’t run away. And Ruba as you can see bites on to her blanket. Their tent leaks and allows the wind in keeping the girls and their family cold. And they don’t have many of their basic needs. Our team did an assessment and we hope to go back and provide some relief for Ruba, Mariam and their family. The pediatric department at Nasser Hospital requested our help!! Support: chuffed.org/project/136892-m… There is a huge influx of patients at the hospital in Khan Younis due to displacements from the North and the number of malnourished and sick babies being born daily. The Sameer Project wanted to contribute to the glorious moments of our hostages release by providing sweets and hiring a singing (madeeh) band. With God’s grace, men who have been imprisoned for more than 20 years and others during the genocide are finally free, although their freedom is not complete on colonized land and until all the rest of the Palestinians in prison are free. A moment of relief and joy for Palestinians in Gaza mixed with sorrow and pain. The released men came to a destroyed Gaza and the loss of loved ones while telling us stories of the horrors that they faced in prison. Horrors that we can never imagine or fathom. This is not the end, this is the beginning. We need to keep fighting until all Palestinians in prison are free and till Palestine is liberated from the river to the sea.

The desperation, the disappointment in the world, the rage towards those that do not help. On August 24 the piping was installed including the hose, connectors, plastic elbows, and head that allows barrels to be filled for people in the camp. In all the materials and wages were paid via bank transfer at 11% for a total of $826. Going out to get water is risky. There have been attacks on children just waiting in line to ensure their family’s survival. This project allows people to walk just feet to collect water. Support the North Campaign to help. Resilience is a word that so many people use when describing Palestinians. As if Palestinians are super human in some way. The reality is that Palestinians are resilient because they’ve spent almost 77 years resisting and fighting settler colonization, ethnic cleansing and apartheid. In particular, Gaza was under siege for 17 years prior to the genocide where their access to electricity, water, food were all controlled by the occupation. Borders were also controlled by them. Over 60% of people were unemployed and over 90% of water was undrinkable in Gaza before October 7th. This didn’t start 15 months ago. So yes, we are resilient. Not because we want to be but because we had to be, and we still have to be. Juma’a Mubaraka and may this be the last Friday under bombings and a Friday closer to our liberation. Ya rab 🤲🏽✨

The last few weeks have been so difficult for the Sameer Project team having to decide where to allocate funds. Food to battle the ongoing famine, water to quench the thirst during the heat, tents as shelter for those displaced or medication for patients who need them to survive. Our hearts break daily with all the requests we get and sadly over the last week donations have been extremely slow. Gaza is suffering and all mutual aid work is needed. We beg you to keep donating and sharing our work. Donate today: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

Why are people still in the North? Because as this man says heartbreakingly “displacement isn’t free.” chuffed.org/project/help-us-…. Palestinians are expected to fund their own ethnic cleansing. You either pay to evacuate South, as ordered by the occupation, or you stay in the North and starve to death or get killed by the occupation’s bombs. This is the impossible choice families face. Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project is still providing about 100,000 liters of water in the North. We are purchasing tents in the South at $1,100 each to give shelter to the forceful displaced. But there is too much of a need. We don’t have enough funds. Please help these families. Donate to the Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project North Campaign to continue to assist the North. Where the hell is the formula? We just got a case of 3 month old baby weighing 2 kilos and the only thing the mother can feed the baby is water. And don’t ask why the mother isn’t breastfeeding, there is no food for her to eat so she literally can’t breastfeed. When will this end?????
🚨All of the aid trucks you heard about in the news like the "100 tons of baby formula" never made it anywhere. How come hospitals like Nasser Hospital still have none? Usually when aid is stolen, one expects some of it to make its way to the market and be sold there. Why is baby formula still extremely difficult to find on the market? Nearly everyone in Gaza is saying that there is absolutely no food on the market. Community kitchens are stopping their essential work, unable to source ingredients or find anything to cook with. When they do manage to find some, it's extremely expensive (100 NIS or $30 for one kilo of flour). Even those with relatively steady incomes like journalists are going days without eating, so you can only imagine what it's like to those with no money. What is the plan here? How long are the people of Gaza supposed to wait until somebody truly understands how difficult life and survival has become in the Strip?

Believe your own eyes!!! It took 22 months for international bodies to recognize a famine in Gaza. Nearly 23 months for some to “officially” declare a genocide. And now we are watching Israel ethically cleanse the North. chuffed.org/project/149178-s…. We cannot wait for anyone to tell us what’s happening, listen to those in Gaza, you are witnessing it on your screens. No one can ever say they didn’t know. Now is the time to act. No more waiting. It is again, with not only broken, but destroyed hearts that we pray for the souls of our martyrs. Ameen Abu Dalal has been with The Sameer Project from the very beginning. He was the brother-in-law of our late camp manager and team leader Mosab Ali, Allah yerhamo. They are now together in Paradise. Ameen was loyal, dedicated, reliable, and the brother to every member of our close knit team. Last night, during a breach of the so called “ceasefire” the occupation murdered Ameen, his wife, his young children, his three brothers: Mohammad, Bayan, and Mustafa, and his mother and father. This multi-generational family was sleeping peacefully in their building when an airstrike hit. They didn’t have a chance. Mosab’s wife Dina, who is abroad with her children after a medical evacuation for her son lost her entire family. In one moment. The occupation murdered OUR family’s entire family. Ameen was an integral part of The Sameer Project team. Quietly, without need for praise or recognition, but with purpose and love for his people, he worked day after day to serve. He didn’t want to take days off because the camaraderie he built with the rest of the team was so important to him. His children were his world and he gushed with pride when we recently posted a picture of his beautiful daughter on our Instagram page - a representative of what should have been the future for Palestine. And now they are gone, they are all gone. It is hard enough to comprehend the loss of one, how do you begin to understand the loss of an entire family. This was supposed to be over. A family was planning for the future. The occupation killed them tonight. And by doing so they broke us. We are asking for prayers for our team, for our dear Dina, for the souls of our martyrs, Mosab, Ameen, his children, and their whole family. There is no safety until the occupation falls. Glory to the martyrs.

We ran out of words to describe how horrible things are in Gaza. From food to water to shelter, the needs are endless. Donate here: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… The Sameer Project team provided this boy with rice meals and he walked us to his tent to show us the horrible conditions they live in. Tents today cost $400 and that’s not accessible to people at all. Your donations help us provide new sturdy tents that fit 5-7 people. This is much needed especially with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius. During tarp distributions in Mawasi Khan Younis, our team met this group of elderly. They were telling us of what they need, and things as simple as water barrels, kitchen equipment and most importantly medications are not available. As you can see, several have medical conditions such as cancer and diabetes, and are not getting the care that they need. The lack of medical care is slowly killing people in Gaza. We are in touch with the ladies and need your support to provide them with some of their basic needs. This will include medication, mattresses, blankets and more. "I will finish it, and I'll complete ten more like it also, God willing" - a Palestinian woman in Gaza. No lights at night, washing clothes by hand, cooking on woodfire and so many more obstacles that Palestinian women in Gaza face everyday. Yet despite that women’s determination to preserve our heritage through tatreez that also provides a source of income continues. Support: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Earlier this year, the Sameer Project collaborated with the Union of Palestinian Women Committee (UPWC) to provide 15 women with a Tatreez (embroidery) kit, upskill them and train them on how to sell their products. This initiative cost $15,000 and that helped provide access to 15 women in gaining some financial income during these tough times. The Sameer Project is looking to do more women initiatives and more collaborations with UPWC. For that we need your continuous support. What are Qatayef? Qatayef are traditional Ramadan 'pancakes' that are folded with a filling that can either be savory or sweet (or both), ranging from salty cheesy to a sweet walnut filling with raisins and coconuts. Yesterday, we distributed 150 packages of qatayef (1 kilo each) plus a walnut, coconut, and raisin filling in al-Shajaiyah, to bring the Ramadan spirit into one of the most destroyed areay of Gaza city. The Sameer Project received a plea from the Shifaa hospital tent where Doaa was with her two kids asking for help. Doaa doesnt have a phone but our team coordinated with the journalists to get Doaa and her kids to the Refaat Alareer the next morning. Support this case: chuffed.org/project/113327-r… In Refaat Alareer camp, Doaa and her kids were provided a tent, and they have access to water and a daily meal. Her children got registered in school and started attending already. In addition, our caretaker Amal does daily rounds to check on Doaa and see what she needs. Doaa lost her eyes due to the military occupation and dreams of a day where she can see her children’s faces again. Till then, the Sameer Project will stand by her side providing her with love and care. Our key mission is to use your donations to the most vulnerable groups in the Gaza Strip. The trip from North to South cost $855 (40% commission) and the tent in Refaat Alareer Camp cost $1,100 (11% commission). We finally raised enough to set up a medical tent in the North in an area with 15,000 people. Please watch the whole video and keep supporting our medical campaign 🕊️✨
Great news! Through our amazing and incredibly talented in Gaza, we have set up a medical point in North Gaza that will serve 15,000 people! chuffed.org/project/136892-m… The Port Camp, west of Gaza City, now homes over 15,000 people who have been displaced after forced evacuation from other areas in the North. It is one of the poorest encampments since families fled there with nothing. It is also one of the most under supported areas due to the shear number of residents and the massive needs. The Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project @sameerproject North team chose the Port Camp for our new Medical Point for exactly these reasons. There are injured and sick, young and old, all with dire medical needs. The healthcare system in Gaza is non existant, particularly in the North where every hospital has been rendered either partially or completely out of service. Clinics have shut down, and doctors and nurses cannot keep up with the new injuries that come in daily and the ailments that grow worse with neglect. In this new medical point we have a general practitioner doctor, two nurses, a dentist, a physiotherapist, all offering services for free to those in need. With your help we will keep a fully stocked pharmacy with medication for fevers, chest infection, mild pain killers, skin rashes, respiratory illnesses, antibiotics, antiseptics, and more. We will clean and redress wounds, examine patients who are ill, and help people heal. However, a fully functioning medical point in an overcrowded area like the Port Camp is an immense undertaking nd we need your help. It cost $15,000-$20,000 each month to keep running and to source medication and supplies like gauze and iodine to keep in stock. Without us, this area has no other medical support. Be a part of caring for Gaza’s sick and wounded. Your initial contributions allowed us to open this Medical Point, and now we need to keep it running for all those who have benefited and the thousands more we will serve. WE WILL REBUILD. Palestinians will always show perseverance against acts of oppression. This is why we started our “Yalla, Na’merha” (let’s build it) initiative, to help families return to their homes. chuffed.org/project/149178-s… To mark the occasion of clearing out an entire street in the North of Gaza that had been filed with rubble, Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project brought a Dabke crew in for the kids and the adults of the neighborhood. Dabke, a traditional Palestinian dance, represents defiance and solidarity as a people. Dabke is also a political statement against oppression. It reaffirms our collective and strong Palestinian identity during a time that the occupation is trying to erase our existence. So, by dancing STRONG and PROUD as PALESTINIANS this is an act of resistance. Help us rebuild, exist on our land, and resist against the occupation. Donate to our Return Home Campaign. Please don’t look away. Children in Gaza are deteriorating rapidly from the lack of medical treatment and the slow pace of medical evacuations. Help with on the ground support: chuffed.org/project/136892-m…. We were not going to post this video of little Jana, she is very very sick. But her mother asked us to, to show Jana’s unimaginable suffering as she has been waiting for evacuation, as organizations falsely promised one year ago that she would leave, to highlight how waiting ultimately cost lives. The Sameer Project has been supporting Jana weekly with her medication, food, and additional needs. She recently took a drastic turn for the worse, needing blood transfusions and wrapped tightly from edema. We brought her toys and coloring books and snacks, small gestures to try anything to make sure Jana knows she is cared about. We will continue to support Jana, but it’s not enough. She must be evacuated before this mother loses a second child in as many months, and before another innocent soul is lost to the occupations crimes. Since we got the news of Mosab’s martyrdom, we have been so distraught and unable to do much other than grieve together. We are trying to reset, find our strength, and continue the work - just as Mosab would have wanted. The ground teams were very busy leading up to this horrific loss, and we will catch you up on all their work. The Sameer Project officially started 14 months ago providing shelter to those in need. We found ourselves starting up in the middle of the 1 million person Rafah forced displacement before the occupation invaded. This is when we first saw Mosab in action - organizing, distributing, and helping. So it’s only fitting that we continue the work and honor our dear Mosab with an update about our work providing tents, providing shelter for those in desperate need…. We recently set up 21 tents in Migrating Birds Camp in Mawasi, Khan Younis, over 2 days of work. Each tent was around $340 before commission, more than double what we paid just months ago due to the need from ongoing forced evacuations and bombings. Thank you to our community for your support, both with your donations and kind words or warmth. We are so appreciative and we will continue to serve. chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Other ways to donate include: paypal.me/mahertali (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "South aid") account.venmo.com/u/Maher-Al… (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "South aid")

The images of babies frozen to death over the last few nights have been beyond heartbreaking. So we’ve been thinking of different ideas to avoid that from happening again. Noor from the Refaat Alareer camp bought a sewing machine today and will use torn cloth from the market that she’ll wash with the other ladies in the camp to make onesies. We are also working with a pediatrician on a contextualized brochure in Arabic with tips and advise on how to keep babies warm. We will print those and distribute them with the onesies. Our team is also looking for gloves and hats for babies as babies can lose a third of their body heat from their head. The onesie in the photo is made by her for her baby Nooh who’s in the Refaat Alareer camp ❤️ Please donate to the South campaign to support us in making as many onesies as possible: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

A few months ago, the Sameer Project collaborated with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (@APNorg) to harvest 11 donoms of land. This land produced tons of courgette and cucumber, and some tomatoes. This collaboration cost $10,000 and allowed access to food when borders were fully closed for months. From seedling to watering, prices for farming are extremely expensive in Gaza today. We are hoping to collaborate on more farming projects. Although we can’t manage how much these vegetables are sold for, we can support more and more farms which will create more supply and push the prices down. We are looking to do more collaborations with @APNorg who have over a decade of experience with farmers in Palestine and aim to protect, sustain and establish sovereignty over our natural resources and food. Supporting farming & fishing in Gaza will be the main focus of the collaboration. Donate to the North/South campaigns.
