Apple, I gotta be honest with you. I respect how difficult it is to ship products & I genuinely don’t mean to put too much negativity out into the world… But you need to revert the changes to the ‘Photo’ app… > Difficult & unintuitive to navigate > No way to distinguish the differences in entry points and sections > Dumping WAY TO MUCH info into one page. Etc. It is the worst UI I have ever seen.

Cybertruck audio by itself is enough reason to buy this truck This was massively overlooked by reviewers like @MKBHD Having spent countless hours in concert venues & studios w/ audio engineers… I can say w/ confidence “Recording Studio Sound Dynamics” is no stretch of the truth— there is no vehicle on the road w/ sound like this Listening to Retrograde by James Blake in a 📐 was nothing short of legendary So so blown away by our audio engineering team

Exactly a year ago I pulled up on a group of guys living in a garage that quit their jobs or dropped out of school telling me— “we’re going to build a plane & fly it lower than any plane ever built” 1 year ago that plane was made of some 3D printed parts, some glue and a couple of Zynn’s… and if I’m being honest— I thought they were scammers. Today— that plane is the Poseidon Seagull. This Bay really is magical. Congrats boys.

I’m leaving Tesla… I’m feeling a lot today, but mostly just gratitude First and foremost, thank you @J0se for taking a chance on a kid like me Second, thank you to this community. It’s the support and optimism that you selflessly pour out for us that keeps every person here motivated through the shitty press and noisy world. Community like this is in short supply and your kindness has filled my heart with love every day I’ve spent working on this mission Last and certainly not least— thank you to the Tesla team. It’s you all that changed the world forever… and will go on to change it again As for me… gonna keep rippin it. More to come These memories will be cherished forever @radbackwards OUT 🫶🏻🫡

I was 18 when I dropped out and talked myself into an internship at Tesla to increase commercial solar efficiency. I knew nothing about energy or solar… I was just starting as an Econ major & was at best mathematically challenged. I went to the duderstadt library at Michigan and asked the guy at the counter ‘can I have any book you think can help me solve for increasing efficiency of solar panels— I know nothing and need to know everything in a week’ W/ the help of a few great engineers, we increased the total efficiency of the fleet by a number that I can’t share but was completely bitchin’… and tbh the books had nothing on just doing the work and putting in 100 hrs a week. Not telling this story to stroke myself publicly but to remind the kids that things can just be done. Just do it, if you will…

My liberal arts view (I'm not an engineer) on all the fuss about Tesla using tele-op and audio pass thru: For starters, what they did was revolutionary. Having that number of Bipedal Humanoids operating in parallel with ONE mistake is insane. Especially the walking sequence... holy fuck. anyone in humanoid space will tell you-- that was incredible. On Tele-Op: My general take is people are so caught up in "is this autonomy or not" that they are missing history happen in front of their eyes... I will also say that no one on earth right now has a data set diverse and large enough to execute what they did at that event fully autonomous... Which is okay, because it is through tele-operating such a wide variety of interactions of the such that will get the world to a place that robot brains are capable of doing it all by themselves. There is a really really bad misconception amongst humanoid fans and followers that everything can be autonomous no problem because teams like Tesla, 1X, Figure etc. etc. have dropped good autonomy demos. But the truth is that these demos required an ass load of tele-op data to bring a very limited set of actions to life. and unless there is some miracle AI breakthrough, Tele-oping at scale will remain a crucial part of teaching our robots to fly-- I would encourage all humanoid robot fans to change their perspective from "OMG THERES A HUMAN THIS IS SO DUMB" to "Look at that human teach that robot everything he knows so one day it can operate all on it's own" On voice pass thru: Realtime voice conversation with AI is solved-- get your panties out of a bunch. Elon and team could have easily done that with voice if they really wanted to but LLM convo's wouldn't have been anywhere near as fun as having those guys do pass thru and teleop-- those videos were so fun and enjoyable to watch. Stop being an asshole. To wrap this up-- if you want to see humanoids come into the world, get smart about just how that is going to happen and instead of dogging on every team that goes out and sets forth beautiful demonstrations/narratives for the future, fan the flame of physical intelligence being conjured from sand. Every hit piece headline about "Tesla's robots aren't even autonomous" is a net-negative for what we are trying to accomplish here-- we can change the narrative, especially here on X. Regards, Me

27 today… Sharing because I found some clarity this past year. I achieved so many of my dreams at 26. I worked harder than I ever (and the jobs not done). I went to so many beautiful places and met so many brilliant people… But Amidst all of this one thing became abundantly clear: ‘Love is the only form of happiness.’ 3 types of experiences really hammered this in for me: Losing Track: I let my selfish need to become the person I’ve always assumed myself to be get in the way of the most important people in my life. It made me come to terms with the truth that no matter who I become if I don’t have their love (And them mine)— absolutely nothing of my selfish pursuits matter. Achieving Goals: Achieving goals brought momentary joy— but the high ended and the low followed but interestingly after the low I was still happy… and I realized that chasing dreams with people I love, doing work I love… that made me feel like I could live forever. The momentary achievements were just fun stories. Other People: I feel awful using other people pain as a tool for my own journey… But this year I met some of the biggest celebrities on earth, billionaires, AI researchers that have more money than Julius Caesar, investor that move capital like el chapo moves weight… and In most cases the money and achievement came as the fruits of trading away every bit of love they had in life… but there were a few that were happy beyond measure and it was always the ones that held their families close, had friends they could laugh with and could still dance when the music started. … I still don’t know everything about love… but I do feel it’s the only thing in the world I’m truly interested in. Family & friends is the right place to start. Finding work you love with people you love is definitely important… Will learn more and report back.

Something I was reminded of last night when I saw Elon’s slides about transforming parking lots to parks was how deeply important it is for our inventors and leaders to offer up competing visions of the future that are equal parts exciting and beautiful. It use to be common place in America for the big thinkers of the time to offer up a better world and to start building it— in 1966 Walt Disney famously introduced EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), which was his vision for a utopian city. Disney aimed to create a community where innovation, technology, and urban planning merged to improve the quality of life for its residents immeasurably… unfortunately it just ended up being pivoted into a theme park (now Disney World). And during this same era: Frank Lloyd Wright offered up “Broadacre city” in the 30s— a decentralized rural-inspired urban landscape where each family had 1 acres to themselves (this evolved into the Chicago suburbs which inspired many other burbs— decent outcome… cool ass idea tho) Buckminster Fuller offered the Dymaxion (dynamic, maximum, tension) lifestyle which gained popularity in the 50s— where living space and transportation would be extremely resource efficient and have entirely dynamic environments (the dymaxion house literally vacuumed itself). I applaud Elon for bringing back a culture of defining where we are headed… We are in desperate need of bringing a culture of ‘tomorrow’ back to inspire hope and keep the kids stoked. But what we had then that we don’t have now is COMPETING visions… We pretty much just have Elon. Which is great when you see the parking lots turn into parks and you go “fuck ya, he nailed that” but not so great when you don’t really want to go back to art deco and would prefer a more organic solar punk design for the vehicles of the future (including an autonomous van concept for Mercedes designed by a friend of mine below) and less cyberpunk. We NEED more people to be like Elon and be crazy enough to offer up a new future. Then we can take our bets by supporting their businesses and buying their products and land on the best future possible… If more people don’t dare to do so, we will almost certainly live in cyber punk, Tron legacy, great gatsby world (which tbh won’t be the worst thing but still) More Elon’s, less SaaS-holes! With all that said, the future is looking really bright today. Great job Tesla!
