On this day in 2004, Prince embarked on his Musicology Live 2004ever tour to promote his 28th studio album, Musicology. The release, which included tracks like "Call My Name," "Cinnamon Girl," and "Life 'O' The Party," was given to concert goers who attended the performances, while the physical retail version was available in the UK on April 19th, and in the US on April 20th.
"Musicology is all about music the way it used to be and it’s about getting the music to the people. That’s why everyone who comes to the show gets a copy of the record. The CD is included in the ticket price, and we’re giving out approximately 50,000 copies each week in order to keep increasing the exposure to the new album." - Prince
We’ll be highlighting all 12 tracks on the album starting with the title track. What’s your favorite song on Musicology?
