I spiced up one of @ParrotXP's old videos!
Here are the major changes I made:
-Increased the pace of the video.
-Added title animations.
-Included background music.
-Added zooms and other effects to make it more dynamic.
god i hate the state of this industry. "i'm building AGI" the only language you know is python and you don't know what a git branch is from the looks of things
fun fact: the minecraft server protocol is so stupid it encodes positions in multiple ways depending on the context. it can either be bitshifted into a long or sent as 3 separate numbers. notch is an idiot who can’t write code for shit
the wii simulator website now has a "mail channel" (not a thing back then but im lazy). the client can email itself as long as the email ends in `+internal@wii.com`. emails are first-come-first-serve, exclusive and passwordless, no two users can have the same. also it functions:)
hot take but microsoft should not have the power to shut down half the airports and hospitals on earth thru an OS update
Community note
The issue affecting computers worldwide is not due to a Windows update, or otherwise caused by an action by Microsoft. It is due to a faulty update to software distributed by Crowdstrike, a cybersecurity company

hey so im like. an avid blender user of 9 years (since i was six) so i thought "hey better explain this". this is called uv projection, a technique in which u model a room then project it from the camera's perspective. here's a demonstration i put together in like an hour ^-^
Just launched agent.exe, a free, open-source Mac/Windows/Linux app that lets you use Claude 3.5 Sonnet to control your computer!
This was a fun little project to explore the API and see what the model can do. Computer use is really cool—I expect 2025 will be the year of agents.
𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗼 is getting a makeover, based on Rust. 🦀
We’re excited to announce that Ubuntu will be the first major Linux distribution to adopt 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗼-𝗿𝘀 as the default implementation of 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗼, in partnership with the Trifecta Tech Foundation.
Jon Seager, VP Engineering at Canonical, shares the full details here: discourse.ubuntu.com/t/adopt…#Ubuntu#RustLang
VERT , the only ad-free open source and local file conversion website just got a fat update, featuring a new ui , more image formats and incredibly fast local video conversion!! check it out @ vert.sh
their model for profit is dumb but generous so i’m not gonna pray on their downfall, a lot of effort must’ve gone into writing it but i still feel this is entirely their fault
i’m not huge on theo (and he’s clearly not huge on me) but it really warms my heart to see people with influence defending @uwukko in this stupid baseless legal “case”
made only using css. no js listener used. took me longer than i thought it would.
for hover state im doing `:has(*:is(.sidebar-icon-trigger:hover`
so much you can do in css using pseudo classes. invest in css.
wow hi new followers who are here just for aerochat. i've added username + password login (which is 100% safe since ive not implemented it myself - its just a popup webview2 window which goes to their login page and intercepts the token!!)
cobalt’s issue is that imput marketed it towards non developers, which means non-developers use it. those people don’t understand the sheer amount of effort that goes into maintaining youtube support alone, let alone all other platforms it supports, so they hate on cobalt.
while you’re all here, try VERT! free and open source local file conversion in your browser (other than videos, but you can self host the server to do those locally too !!)
vert.sh
it's funny how racists went from "WE ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN BLACKS" to "LOOK AT THIS POOR DEFENSELESS WHITE PERSON BEING BEATEN BY A BLACK PERSON" like ??????
youtube’s support for rich subtitles is insane. an example that really impressed me is tom scott’s use of them in his documentary about youtube’s copyright system
Something I've started doing lately is moving all of my styles to the root element.
This keeps all of the styling in one place, and keeps the rest of my code super clean ✨
😏
it takes like 2 seconds of critical thinking to realise that porting a tool to another unix-compliant (ish) OS is easy but porting it to NT from a unix compatible OS can be a nightmare if it was originally written with unix in mind
>officially packaged for macOS
>officially packaged for every hipster distro
>unofficially packaged for distros people actually use
>does not support Windows
the hell???
- i did not, VERT converts all non-video formats locally oob with a single executable to run if you want to do video conversion locally
- my single tweet is not denying anyone their freedom of choice
- i don’t care. shit like this sucks and i’ll say what i want
this guy is so clearly LARPing as a hacker. “binary reverse engineering” when cluely is an electron app, and iso 27001 is a standard for “information security management systems” lol
