people r saying that it's cheating cuz i didnt write it myself. if today i used LLM's for all the ideas, but wrote the essay 100% with my own words, is it cheating? i agree that the transparency aspect is contentious, so I'm gonna meet with the prof next week and let him decide whether he still wants to use it as an example or if he wants to kick me out of the school. will keep u posted.

announcing... the waterloo hacker fab 📀 four months ago, a group of friends & i set out to build a diy chip fab @uwaterloo! so far, we've built a lithography machine, achieved micron-scale patterning, and have secured ~$16k to build the rest of the fab. more details below!

I wonder what @Onshape is up to. They probably have the largest set of CAD data to train on, including modelling history and intent. A bit concerning that when i met Jon Hirschtick (solidworks + onshape founder) few months ago, he just said it's an "interesting idea"
we are so b̶a̶c̶k̶ b-rep. meet cadmancer, the first in a series of models we will be releasing you can export the designs it creates, optionally to your favorite cad/cam software (fusion 360 etc), and manufacture it. very early work - still lots more to do before prime time, compute is the biggest bottleneck right now. I'll also be training a tool path model at some point in the future, but that's out of scope until I can get the quality to a high enough standard on the base model. hoping to make it available to everyone open source. trying to figure out how to open source it whilst also bootstrapping a sustainable team.
