🗣️ TOPIC OVERVIEW:
🤖 AI agents finally get a checkout system:
#ERC-8183 introduces a simple on-chain escrow standard so
#AI agents can safely pay each other for work, with funds released only after the job is verified.
🔒 Small core, big flexibility: The protocol keeps escrow intentionally minimal, while optional "hooks" let developers add features like bidding, swaps, routing, and custom workflows without changing the core standard.
⚖️ One trusted judge decides: A single evaluator approves or rejects submitted work. That keeps the protocol simple but means reputation, staking, or other trust mechanisms are crucial for valuable jobs.
💸 Funds stay protected: Payments are held in ERC-20 escrow, providers are paid only when work is approved, and clients can always reclaim funds if a job expires—malicious hooks can't block refunds.
🌐 Built for the agent economy: Designed to plug into standards like ERC-8004 (reputation), ERC-2771 (gasless transactions), and ERC-2612 (permit), ERC-8183 aims to become the payment layer for autonomous AI commerce.
